Need a bobble head version of you and luke! Lol
lolol - good one!
Seriously! 🙏 THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!
I will print a bust of you! You have been an invaluable teacher and inspirator of mine, for close to 10 years. Your bust will stand next to Nicola Tesla and Victor Schauberger. Thank you for all your effort and keep it going :)
Wow, thank you mate
My hat to the engineers who put that device together!
Considering the multitude of sensors, hardware and software features contained in a single package, I can only imagine how many challenges they faced along the way to get it all to work seamlessly.
The next logical step is to add a built-in 3D printer ;-)
And because it has to remain small and portable, it will just print one layer at a time on water-soluble sheets which you then stack, rinse, and voila! you've got your 3D model :-P
Outstanding video, Robert! I have all the Revopoint scanners except the Inspire and this one and I find them all to be excellent value for the price. I can only hope that I will eventually be able to move up to the Miraco.
You geek! You just made my day!
lol - absolutely a geek mate lol - cheers
Your bust looks a little like Beethoven's. I never saw the similarity between the two of you until now, but it's there!
i looked again - i think you are right lol
That's so freaking cool! I've been trying to figure out how to do this with my iPhone, with mixed (mostly disappointing) results. I may well have to buy these!
it is pretty cool for sure
Photogrammetry can get some good results but the learning curve can be pretty steep.
@@OstrichWrestler I've been watching some videos about it lately, that and NERF and Guassian Splatting. Seems like a cool field in general, especially for anyone interested in 3D printing/CNC or any kind of surveying work. It SEEMS like there's a lot to learn beyond the casual hobbyist level of knowledge.
I suggest the BBC has to contact you for becoming the next doctor Who.
You're for real, you have the attitude ánd the voice!
Love it.
Perfect. I’m getting one. Thanks for the heads up!!
Any time mate - cheers
Thanks for your continued videos into these scanner like devices , Im hovering over buying a "Revopoint POP 3" at the moment but its most difficult making a decision on it.
I can understand that mate - I am looking forward to playing with this more
@@ThinkingandTinkering try as many crazy objects as you can to put it though its paces such as cars, structures such as churches , It will be interesting to see how it handles various materials/colors/situations.
I had a POP3, it was garbage, could not keep tracking to save its life even with a load of markers, it would just pile up junk data on top of junk data, I returned it for a full refund
@@ghjfkldsxzmkbfj I received mine like a day ago its somewhat okay i just need more time with it , its usb cable was too short to get into my phone which is fun.
I'm sure the time will come when Madams Tussauds will be interested in an efigy of you. Very exciting what a tool kit todays youngsters will have.
just plain awesome really
We do photogrammetry in our lab a fair bit, and this all-in-one system is very impressive.
cheers mate
Oh I need one of these in my life, it would solve so many problems, sban something then design something to fit into the space scanned, endless fun.
absolutely mate
Great video and idk but the accent just makes the video even better. Thumbs up
Wow, thanks
That is definitely a device I'd be interested in.
Imagine getting a scan of the workers in the local shop.....
next time there's a petty dispute over getting served etc, reach into pocket, slam the character down on the counter, "I've got your number mate!" and storm out.
lolol
Very cool!
for sure mate
Life is sometimes a bit ....... spooky!
Only yesterday I was at the dentist for a regular check. Stavros, my dentist asked if he could take a picture of my mouth .... literally a couple of minuets later we were looking at a 3D image of my mouth, inside and out! It was fascinating! Obviously his camera was a bit smaller than yours. ;o)
Next time I need a tooth out (a long time away I hope) I will not be surprised if they do not print me a new one from this image!
do you mate - they probably will!
Whoa that’s awesome. Being able to carry it around opens up so many possibilities. Like bootleg Rodin sculptures! 🤣Just kidding
I actually bought a revopoint Inspire and have been impressed with it so far. (only had it a month).
Q. How would the Miraco be scanning the inside of a room, an alcove where you want to build custom lit shelves for example?
The accuracy of the Inspire has been faultless and I managed to scan and print a damaged plastic latch for a Curver tool box first time with mm. accuracy . To measure accurately the inside details of a room or a car / engine etc and have a permanent record to refer to would be really useful !
i don't really know - i imagine good - but i haven't tried it so I don't know
Marcus Aurelius lives!
Personalized chess sets!
awesome idea!!
Looking good, RMS!
cheers mate
Apart from the scanner, I think you look awesome in that suit! (Not the shoes, they don't match)
Wow now that is cool!
for sure mate
The Tintin comics had a 3D printer in the 1950s, before Star Trek.
ok
Well that's your wife's Xmas present sorted with your bust. Clever. 😉
lol
Great review Rob.
Your self scan must have been first thing in the morning before a coffee and cigarette 😂
It seems like a great product and I’m tempted because of it’s all in one package but it seems to me that this comes at a cost in processing power and will perhaps be only ever capable of quality and speed of its inbuilt computer.
The dilemma of course is the standalone use without a pc is also very convenient but also limited in future upgrades.
Any chance you might be able to review an Einstar model of similar cost comparing the quality and usability?
That's hilarious. You and SuperFastMatt both did a review on the Revopoint Miraco at the exact same time.
He.... wasn't as impressed as you seem to be but his use case is significantly different
we were asked to by revopoint
@@ThinkingandTinkering I figured their budget is well spent!
We are in the cyberpunk future baby ❤
yes we are lol
Dr Who talking about Star Trek in the current period. Mind = blown.
lol
Another thing Star Trek is directly responsible for - the format of hospital CAT/PET scanners, and the setup of patient vitals/monitoring readouts onscreen at the head of the bed. It seems so self-evident and obvious now - but that’s because Star Trek props people worked it out back in the 1960s.
it was pioneering stuff mate
You could scan your beloved pet and print out a model of them to cherish forever . ❤
i thought about the cat !
@@ThinkingandTinkering wow but what about the whiskas
Thanks for the video.
How does this compare with the Revopoint pop3? (if you've used it) I know you can use the pop3 wireless with you phone. Is the software the same etc?
I fear that at my advanced age the world is leaving me in the dust…..👍👍
it will do if you let it mate
Exporting with mesh appeared to reduce the resolution considerably. And probably more in reducing the file size. Is there a means to export to Tinkercad and maintain resolution?
no - tinkercad is pretty restricted in this sense only 25MB file size and 300,000 triangle - that's all you gt if you us them
Cool that you have no problems scanning your bits, 😂 lol
I know, right! lololol
It would be cool if you could use the camera on your phone to do the same thing.
well there is always photogrammetry
If you like MIRACO too, then grab one.
You should look into 3d gaussian splatting
that's photogrammetry mate
@@ThinkingandTinkering oh wait wrong comment lol 😭
You should have shown yours up close to the camera
my what ? there were loads of close up shots of the scanner and if you want to actually see th quality of the scan then there are the stl files i provided
Hail Roman Robert
lol
I have a Sony Xperia XZ1 that can do that and that is about 5 years old.
this with VR .. omg
I know!
When do you see needing the 32GB of RAM version compared to the 16GB of RAM version?
when you are doing lots of shooting at one time or can't be bothered to swap files over for ages
😂😂😂 you put yourself in tingiverse
lol - i know! lol
This is the kind of tech that actors are currently trying to protect themselves from, contractually.
is it now?
So I could scan the $5,000,000 Triceratops and have my own?
you could indeed!
How about a life-size Heidi Klum?
lol
Oh, and tablets.
defo - based on the PADD
I have a batch of twenty hand carved products to make STL files of, how much would you charge for a half day rental in your car park? No problem if you don't do this sort of rental.
i don't do things like that mate - sorry
Robert ~ your ears need cleaning ~ just saying ~ KR AndyT(Somerset)
lol - well cheers mate lol
dress like that every time
What were the other scanners you tried? I'm thinking about the handheld Creality scanner as it is only ~AU$300 but after seeing this video I'm now wondering if the extra thousand dollars for this is better value.
I have tried n Inspire but that is it
