So, what is the hose coming off the blower motor and what is it for exactly? I bought a new blower motor for my 94 and the hole on the side of the motor housing is offset from the OEM motor and this mystery hose will not reach it. Is this hose even necessary or can I just plug the hole on the blower motor? Is that for ventilation or something else? The other end just goes to the heater box.
Scratch that question, I just found the answer. In case anyone else has wondered, it is a ventilation tube that transfers air back into the motor to keep it cool. Makes sense.
What does the blower motor plug into? I had taken my jeep to a mechanic to check my ac to see if I needed a new ac kit or if I just needed the Freon for it. Because my ac isn’t working I had been using the vent fan and it was working but after he checked my ac, the fan wasn’t coming on anymore. The fan was working good before until I took it to him. I was thinking maybe he unhooked it and didn’t hook it back up.
If I remember right it just plugs into the back of the blower motor I think the wire just came from the harness along the firewall Check your fuses and relays first
Sweet, I need to change mine tomorrow I got the same motor from amazon. How long did the chy knees motor last? You did leave a screw in which kept you from getting the gasket in right though. You also forgot to hook up the fresh air line from the cabin that cools the fan motor. The hole the line goes in is on the wrong side on the new motor. ugh. That open hole on the blower motor will be sucking every single bit of road dirt, dust and salt directly into the motor as you drive until it clogs up the motor and causes it to overheat and fail. The fan will now suck hot air from the engine bay to try to cool it. The dirt will land on the speed control resistor behind the motor which is cooled by the airflow as well. That can cause the resistor to fail and/ or possibly catch fire. Water can now also enter the cabin through the fresh air vent tube and the motor. Not trying to rag on you, just point out a couple of missed steps.
@@Dads_Junk I found a 90 deg 5/8 plastic coupler to make the factory cabin breather hose work with the new motor. The new one seems much more powerful. Glad it is still going, for both of us kek!

i have a 94 and have yet to see one with the same positioning of the same components under the hood that match mine,
On older vehicles you have to watch for other "custom work" which makes it hard for people that get the vehicle later

It's still working , it's been awhile but it seems like there was a reason that it was basically upside down but yea it still works like it should

Just take the last screw out and put the gasket on the new blower motor instead of fighting and installing the gasket wrong
