Always nice to be able to see what a job may entail beforehand. I like eliminating as much guesswork as possible. Tools needed hints are a great help. It SUCKS when you are right in the middle of a job and find you are not equipped. You did a fantastic job in your explanation. Thank you kindly.

Had an old 85 XJ that the blower motor stopped working on. The guy before us used all the wrong wire for just about everything on that Jeep and as things stopped I rewired it. Well the blower worked if I used a jumper wire on it, so I wired it so it blew on high because it was winter. By spring time I replaced the whole thing and bought switch that would allow me to select a fan speed. Drove that old thing till we had a wire fire. So I cut out all the good stuff and call someone to haul the body away. I think that fire saved us some hurt, after the axles came off I set down on some 6x6's and the body just kind of sagged. that XJ was done. I like that fuse panel idea for the JK.

in my WJ, it's a much easier access. It hangs under the passenger's dash, up under the footwell. Three screw nuts and a plug and she's out. But good to know how to fix the squirrel cage (never heard it called that before).

You do NOT have to drain the refrigerant if u still have it.
Last time i did this I was able to swing my canister up and out of the way without disconnecting the hard line and without losing my refrigerant

You can do this without having to remove the AC system stuff out of the way yes it's a little bit more difficult but you can fit the blower motor in and out without removing any of that stuff so if you don't want to lose your AC and have to pay for new freon to put in your system you don't have to remove that

I have a 1994 XJ and am replacing the blower motor. The old one had a rubber tube/hose that ran from a hole in the motor housing to the heater box. Can someone please tell me what this hose is for and, if it is actually necessary? The reason I ask is because the hole on the side of the new blower motor is in a slightly different location and the hose will not reach it. Can I just plug that hole or do I need that hose connected to it? I cannot find a single shred of info online about this mystery hose, or the hole on the side of the blower motor. Thanks!

I have a 2013 ram 1500. Last spring I noticed my performance was getting bad as was my fuel mileage. It was getting worse so I finally pulled the air filter to check if it was clogged and I had a chip monk nest in there with literally hundreds of broken up acorn shells. I didn't see the chip monk but I have a lot of them around my property and I don't think a squirrel could really fit in there and I don't think it was a mouse. It was on the bottom part of the air box so nothing got sucked up into the intake but it was still a mess. As soon as I cleaned it out, performance and gas mileage were restored. Now I keep a better eye out for it.
