Great video! The liberator for me is going to be my 'carryall' dune style as a mining operation platform to allow a team to find and mine multiple types of minable (ROC and prospector) while also being a safe space to refuel, repair, offload ore to transport and carry necessary supplies.
Cheers Aaron! Indeed I think that “mini base” idea is how a lot of folks will look at their Liberators. Personally I just wish this type of ship had been made by one of the more industrial manufacturers - I think it could’ve really fitted Argo or MISC.
Man, i love these kinds of video, the old concepts still have that charm that catch our imagination, considering, we are seeing how the game is progressing, and how far away some of these ships might be, but it's really great to look and talk about these concepts, to me the Genesis Starliner is one i'm really eager to see in game with the mechanics of passenger flights working, but there are so many cool ship that honestly most of them gets me excited for the future.
Having the Entrepreneur pack there’s a few of the smaller ships looking like they’re getting closer to release. Funny, a lot of talk about the Hull A and C but nothing about the B, which according to its roadmap status is the same as the A, so fingers crossed. Be great to see the Vulture and Vulcan as well in due course
Yeah the B doesn’t get a lot of love right? I’ll be honest I looked up the cargo on it and had to stop and reconsider it myself - that’s one viable little boat!
Chris HIMSELF said this: Do you all remember the AEGIS Nautilus event in Frankfurt/Germany in August 2019? I had the chance to ask Chris Roberts himself exactly the OP's question and he took the time to answer me: The Javelin will definitely come fully equipped, weapons included. Whether the components are civilian, industrial or the weakest military ones, he didn't know. The balance team didn't make any proposals to him. He confirmed that Javelin will not be delivered as an "empty hull"!
From the website; “PLEASE note before buying that the Javelin is not a free ride to interstellar domination. While it’s the largest ship we have made available to backers, it’s actually the smallest UEE ship-of-the-line. Additionally, Javelins sold to players are “used” by the UEE. They are surplus ships with their military weapons removed. Purchasing a Javelin means a new quest for your Org or team as you rearm and upgrade it for your needs!” Would make sense if it had some industrial parts that at least let it fly, but personally I hope it’s a toothless giant on day 1.
@@braydenrichards2205 where's the game? It's been 10 years. Millions of dollars - 700 people working on it and this is what they have? A broken ass game buildt on a super long list of broken 'promises' lol ..YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME
I really enjoyed this video! The background music was amazing and I'm excited for these new ships and future gameplay mechanics SC will have. Also I wanted to state that size does matter when it comes to cargo hauling and other activities ;)
Cheers mate! Yeah size matters for sure, but sometimes small is beautiful. I really hope they stick to the idea of different sized jump gates - so a clever trader operating something like a Freelancer Max might be able to outperform someone not putting much thought in in a much bigger ship.
Oh lord this video just made it clear to me now difficult the development will become, once they get further down the line. Balancing, availability, force projection, getting cargo off of your space-only ships, relying on players to play your tug boat, hospital or repair shop. This interconnectivity sure sound great and immersive af. But I guess they'll have to scale back in some departments in the future. With this many ways to get money in curious how they'll balance between mining, hauling, tugging / repairing / passenger transportation (tho I can only think of this if you transport NPCs, couldn't possibly be viable with players), bounty hunting, etc. I don't know the price of the larger ships, but I guess it's realistic to assume that grinding will play a huge roll, otherwise you couldn't demand 700$+ for a spaceship, if players could achieve it with less than 100 hours of grinding. Just my thoughts, I'm only in with like 80€ and that's all I'm willing to give for now.
I personally like the Odyssey more than the carrack, however both ships have pretty different roles in my opinion. A carrack is meant to be an exploration/scanning ship, most likely to scan for POI's like jump points, mining claims, etc and sell them in order to make a living. The Odyssey on the other hand is built to be more like a super long range FOB building with it's ability to mine for more fuel, haul a hefty amount of cargo, refuel , refine, and carry more vehicles than the Odyssey which makes me think it'll be used for more dedicated "exploration" rather than the Carrack's more scan n' sell profession.
Yeah - t’was a bit of a throwaway comment when really I think I’m Team Both! As an Org I’d imagine the Carracks will be our detailed cartography ships and effectively pathfinders for the main fleet. But the Odyssey’s will be those that we really fling out into the black to see what’s out there!
From previous statements by CIG i am pretty sure that AI-Slaving the Scorpius Turret will allow for front-facing pilot controlled fire only. So youre loosing the rear turret which i can actually see as beeing immensly useful in hectic fights.
Yeah, I also hope that we get blades that can do things like increase the value of bounties (kind of like kill warrant scanners from Elite) or make it a lot easier and faster to find your targets - so by using your blade slot to slave your turret you lose out somewhere else. I personally just hope that in most cases having 2 people in a ship as opposed to 1 will be more profitable for both of you.
@@LoudGuns I personally hope they let blades quite easily group multiple turrets under one operator's control. Kind of like the reclaimer's turrets work by default. For example, the Polaris has a huge number of not too exciting basic turrets, many of them covering the same firing arc as the next. It would be very nice to just use like one blade to unlock the ability to put a couple of turrets to shoot at what ever the host turret is aiming at, when ever that's possible. IMO that would be very nice for gameplay and also easily balanced, because you do lose the ability to have all turrets have independent operators scanning for targets and dividing the firepower. The more gunners you have, the more firing arcs you get to use optimally. But it would also let you get at least SOME use out of all guns, even when you don't have a full crew. Like say you have a Polaris as a group of 10 players. But you only have 5 online currently, so only 4 potential gunners. But the thing has like 8 turrets or something. So you just put the gunners into the best turrets to cover as many angles as possible, and then slave the most fitting turrets under their main turrets. And that would also make it more viable and less frustrating to use a slightly bigger ship with a smaller crew. They could even make the blades for these things be a sort of endgame progression loop. You would need to grind reputations, steal them, loot them, buy them for huge amounts of money, or complete quests for them. You shouldn't just be able to buy a Javelin from the store, slot in one blade and have all turrets broadside with one gunner.
@25:00 To anyone not familiar: those stats are only for the M-variant. We can only speculate what the C-variant will come with. The $10k & $15k Chairman's Club reward are both F8C which is also the case for the buy-token reward we will be able to get in SQ42.
Bahahaha, "Frigate is kind of a shrug emoji that can be applied to wherever it fits at a time." - so true. Friends and I did a playthrough of heavily modded Space Engineers and ended up being really confused about Frigates vs Corvettes. We ended up saying Frigates are thiccbois with guns, Corvettes are slender boys with guns.
I may be way off, but I get the impression that corvettes are smaller, and slightly zippier/nimbler than frigates, with maybe a slightly lighter armament. Meanwhile, a frigate is bigger, and slightly less maneuverable, and have heavier armament (and are probably part of the lumbering battle line). And I mostly base that on Star Wars and the old X-Wing Vs Tie Fighter games that I played ;-) starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Corvette (and th-cam.com/video/p2vyk52HHPw/w-d-xo.html) starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Frigate
I'm really looking forward to a bunch of the concept ships you covered, especially since half of my fleet are concepts, but also the F7A Hornet, just for its more aerodynamic front air vents. I like my Hornet a lot, but those big rectangular air vents look too old-school, like 1970's old-school.
Coolest part about the Starliner for me isn't the player/npc transport but having the domestic/interplanetary ports open in landing zones So like if you were moving your ships to another location you can fly there then hop on a flight back, I could see the mission system supporting this for players "easily" and adding missions for escorting those flights fairly "easily" as well. Having AI do that might be a ways off but you never know
This is why I’m taking a new approach, I just buy the warbond CCU’s for the smallest amount of cash I can. Then in however many years when everything is on the table I’m going to make my selections! Still the Polaris is the ship I’ll buy myself unless Anvil come out with something comparable so I think you’ve got yourself a great ship!
Great commentary Loud Guns, particularly the critique of CIG marketing and sales. I'm very happy to have picked up a Carrack for under $400 via CCU's, as opposed to the Odyssey - also very much on Team Carrack (and Drake all the way)
@@varukenprime445 It's $500 if you want to support the game... or you can buy it with in-game money for time spent. The Javelin is $2500 last I knew. You only HAVE to spend $45 dollars for the game. You don't HAVE to buy anything else.
@@GUNNER67akaKelt it just baffles me that after 10 years crowdfunding this is still a thing. I spent $50 or so in the game and gave up. 10 years is a long time.
@@varukenprime445 It is, but you don't make something special quickly or cheaply. I just hope after they get the server meshing and other core tech like that in, that they can go back and really work on the bugs. I've had a few bug-free game sessions and it was fun.
When it comes to the Persius, it's also looking like a really good flagship for a small mercenary group, both for FPS and space operations. It's sturdy enough to not really risk taking damage from most pirate weapons. It has huge fuck off cannons that are designed to just make mince out of most ships that pirates tend to use. And it also has enough cargo capacity to haul around extra ammunition, supplies, guns, armor, loot from defeated enemies, or even extra fuel. Plus there is a bonus ground vehicle hangar for an APC. It's got everything you need for the purpose, except a medical bay, which makes the Polaris the best option for this role, if you have the group size to operate it with some effectiveness. But for like three people, the Persius should be a better ship for the amount of crew.
17:31 I 100% agree! They should give the community time to ask their questions and get them answered in the inevitable Q&A before CIG puts the ship up for sale, or the ship should remain for sale throughout that time period and for at least a short while after the Q&A has been released... But then how would CIG leverage FOMO in their sales? I know that sounds super cynical, and I'm actually a supporter of the game, but that doesn't mean I don't question many of their decisions and practices.
Thank you for the video. I really enjoyed this. I think the Liberator is the most exciting ship in this list. It is MUCH more than a ship ferry. It is the perfect ship for a solo player or small group to support a small Mining or salvage op or any other small operation. Meaning I can get myself a 2xProspectors, Expanse and Terrapin. That is a nice little fleet but I am limited to one system. I get a Liberator and I and a friend or 2 can go any place we want. I am also hoping that we can buy empty cargo containers and strap those down to a landing pad for extra storage. I am also looking forward to the Vulture, Corsair and Gattac. Depending on how big the Gattac is it might be a perfect hauler for the small Liberator fleet. If it is to small I would use a Hull B.
The ARGO isn't stored in the main hangar, there's 3 fighter spots and the snub bay is off to the side on the Idris alongside the cargo. The scene from Squadron 42 where the ARGO is dropping off the prisoners is the source of this confusion :P
I always tell people that the Corsair's biggest competitor is not the Conny but the MSR, because the Corsair also has a hidden under-floor cargo areas and data-running server racks in the rear.
Yeah they are arguably more similar, it’ll be really cool to do a showdown between all 4 when we can. The MSR is my current daily driver but interested to see if the Corsair will take its place.
I hope that they make hauling ships a game loop once more systems are in. Like the idea of an industrial hauler as opposed to launch pad ship. Like Argo style
nice video. one thing I noticed is that the Perseus does have 4 manned turrets in total as opposed to just 2. Two are the dual size 7 weapons and the other two are much smaller dual size 3.
Indeed, sorry I didn’t focus on the others - they’re more meant as point defence I believe. Personally I expect a lot of people will automate these ones with AI blades at which point the Perseus becomes perfect for 3-4 mates.
Amazing video, you put lots of effort into it, so great job! Would it be possible for you to make an update video on this topic every year or something? it could be a cool series
Thanks mate - yep this will probably be something I update annually. Can always improve and there’s always ships getting finished and new ones coming out!
it is good to see that there are not that many in concept ships left but ... there are two capital class ships that have been pledged for in the original backing (if i read that right the Bengal and a battle cruiser) that both are on the funding goals on the page but have yet to make ripples in concept .. granted at the moment any big ships are pure potential anyway so yeah can see why but still ;)
Yeah it’s actually worth looking at the list from time to time just to see that there’s more out than still in the pipeline, although new stuff is being announced later on in its development it seems. The Bengal was actually flying around as part of Invictus last year so we know it’s at least part concepted. That said the idea for the Bengal is that there will be some out there in the verse for orgs to find and restore, but they’re not pledge-able.
I have a Liberator upgrade in my Hangar, it looks great IMO, I look forward to using it to ferry some ships around for profit. I also have a C2, but I think the Liberator will be able to carry larger or more ships; there is a good guide on the liberator forum.
Don’t get me wrong - I reckon the Liberator’s a fantastic ship that we’ll definitely see put to great use. I just don’t get the concept art, because if you use that ship to drop in somewhere that the tanks need to be firing the moment they hit the ramp then you’re probably losing that Liberator on the way in?
Great video, And still so many ships to look forward to. Though it maybe awhile before some ships features and tech come online. As a side note, The Idris can hold 3 fighters in the hangar, And then the Argo MPUV hangar is on the ships belly.
16:30 how good would it be if it could detach in the middle and the front half becomes a hover tank, troop carrier. While the rest goes air support until the jobs done. 16:54 yeah like electronic warfare focused ships that are focused on stealth, jamming communications and radar targeting lock on systems. support ships as well. 20:49 so can you create contracts in game, i mean if you had one of these you could potentially be a contract building corporation. having contracts within the game means that once the job is done the money that was agreed upon was put in escrow and once the other party comes in and claims their base. the money goes through to the builder.
The hull e cap isn’t silly when you consider the utility of the ship. Something like that wouldn’t load up full of Q. It would be taking all the necessities to space stations, sustaining populations. It’d be loaded with huge amounts of varying things like food, weapons, ammo, water, medical supplies and food. Let the small haulers take specific loads to keep themselves fed. The BIG haulers take varying loads and keep te verse fed
You are of course correct - that was very much in the “silly maths” category to emphasise how massive that thing is! I’d imagine it’ll function much like modern super massive cargo ships, the Hull E would be doing a huge loop with multiple contracts - so if I run a mining org I can book 10,000 scu of space on board for a certain leg etc.
nice video. the more i think about all the concepts im not sure how they will work this out.. how will the world be come alive in so many different aspects, how will 80 players be on 1 ship fighting another 80 player ship. minelayer, huge cargo vessels, a outpost buiding ship while space and ground fights happening. how would it work that players find new jump points.. it all needs to be so big that it will be empty. im hoping the best, but it feels so impossible to realize it all.
X1 series do look very nice, might grab one, i have bought the G12 think AA variant, very cool look. The Hull-c is the one i am looking forward to, but yes cargo loop needs some work for it to make sense.
Yeah the X1’s do look totally awesome - I’m looking forward to getting some form of racing league going with all sorts of different classes. I just hope they bring in missions, maybe with random NPC interdictions to spice things up and rep so you start moving freelancer loads and work your way up!
I think i am going to keep away from the big ships for myself unless I can use the firepower as Pilot lol but I would like some way to get my other ships to different places . I was hoping we could pay to have the delivered , better than Claim :)
I’m sure that’ll be a thing in the future - particularly when we have ships like the Kraken, Liberator or Hull’s D & E. if nothing else you’ll be able buy passage with another player or Org
Man I really want to have my Perseus and Corsair. The good thing is that the Corsair is almost finished. I think we may see and fly it in August or so. However, we have to wait quite a while for the Perseus, especially since there is not even any news about this ship yet. :/
One concept that I don't know if you don't understand is when you say hauling ships well now I put your ships on Earth being hauled and I really think they should something like that in space for the game play to be able to hold most any kind of ship unless the super massive to haul like 8 to 20 of them at a time and then they might have what you just said about you need another ship to haul your ships then that would only be the viable situation if that doesn't ever happen hauling ships would not be a thing for this game and then they should never try it which makes that other ship not worth much either.
Fairly new, was a bit of a thank you for my Patreon backers and the other folks who help me. Was good to recycle some of my old music from the days when I had a lot more hair!
The endeavor is a ship that I want but I want it for two reasons and I actually want to be able to build one ship into two of those the different concepts for a little bit of different different kind of thing and where to actually wake up perfectly for what it's supposed to be for that I want it for which actually is two different variants of them. But I actually want it for one ship.
"I for one am interested to know just how big a minefield you would have to lay in order to protect an objective in 3 dimensional space" Play Homeworld, Or accept this answer.....HOURS OF LAYING MINES, THOUASANDS OF THEM. Honestly if you dont match it with something like a mantis they could also just QT past your mine field and drop out the other side just fine. People are about to be VERY surprised at how much team work a massive battle actually takes in 3d space when this game finally comes out.
Yeah, don’t worry I’m playing a bit of foxhole on the side at the moment so I’m under no illusions as to what players are capable of :D Also let’s face it a ship like the nautilus could easily lay huge clusters at a time.
@@LoudGuns I guess it really depends on the blast radius, proximity detection zone, and whether or not you have to place them one by one perfectly or launch clusters that have a small amount of AI to line up in the "designated zone". I'm looking forward to finding out how CIG deals with it honestly.
@@centronox for sure, I’m hoping it’s at least clusters - I don’t know if you ever played Sins of a Solar Empire but I sort of see the Nautilus laying similar mini fields
we also dont know what kind of mines could be laid so its possible interdiction mines might be a possibility and these could be placed with a mix of tracking explosive mines and sentry guns
Love your vids Loud. Please keep up the great work. I hesitated to buy the Odyssey when it dropped and I am glad I did. Team Carrack based on what the ships will be doing. Really looking forward to the BMM.
Many thanks! Tbh I do think the Odyssey will have it’s place - just very much not worth the price tag to me! Yeah the BMM is one of the few ships locked in in my hangar so I can’t wait :D
Yeah it took me also a bit before i got a Odyssey. But as i am not playing only for best in slot and metaships etc. I like to just travel and do sightseeing, i think the Odyssey will serve me well for relaxed gameplay.
@@phoenixsui that is the best reason mate - my view is if you’re going to chuck money (or time) at a ship buy it for you, get the one you like and don’t let anyone tell you “it’s not meta” unless your question is literally “what’s the best ship for….?”
Man I can't wait for them to finish concepting and Delivering my Genesis. That damn thing has been in my Hangar since 2016. Edit: Oh yes. And the Polaris. I actually paid less for the Polaris than I did for the much smaller Perseus. That ship introductory price Inflation is real and it needs to stop.
Hey, great video! I noticed one thing. For the Aegis Vulcan section, at 6:10 it goes quiet. When commentary comes back, it picks back up as if you just listed off the ship's possible career paths.
I have an X1 force, want to get a X1 velocity as well one day. If the G12 series fits in the 400i, I will probably get the G12 as it can carry 2 SCU. The perfect 1-3 person explorer kit!
That sounds great, just a shame there’s not a ROC equivalent out of the G12s that could fit in the 400i. I really think that’d help explorers - particularly if in the future small miner’s can do things like take soil samples to work out if certain land is valuable.
Most looking forward to the Rangers, Vulture, Corsair, Crucible and Orion. The Perseus/Polaris too, but less so for my personal fleet. I can't wait to fly a Lightning, but I suspect we'll only get to fly the F8A in SQ42, and very few will be obtainable that in the verse (limited to high tier backers). Maybe I'm wrong though, we'll see! The F8C variant is probably going to have less hardpoints, my guess is reduced to 6 and similar firepower to a Scorpius, which is still nothing to scoff at. Cheers!
Strong list - a lot of crossover to my own minus the BMM! I believe the F8’s will have an element of rep locking to them - one thing I think cig is keen on is to avoid situations where some people have things because of dollar spending that others then can’t access. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if like you say it loses some guns, or the capacitors could bottleneck it and force you to maybe mix in some ballistics etc. There’s so many dials for balance though which really interests me - for example when we get maintenance what will the ramifications be for having a very rare ship. A bit like how the AK47 is the world’s assault rifle of choice because it’s cheap, reliable and easy to maintain. The M4 might be a technically better gun but you can’t find spares for it in every conflict zone.
@@LoudGuns Indeed, the BMM should be awesome, I already like the Defender and the Banu aesthetic/design as it is. The Orion is my friend's 'big ship' and I'll likely not go for anything capital-class, the Crucible is my limit (I tend to like smaller ships in general) but we'll have fun operating out of it for sure as a small crew. You're analogy is spot on though, it's why I tend to lean more towards Drake ships conceptually being 'cheap, reliable and easy to maintain' haha. The more systems and components we have come online, the more chance for balances and trade-offs we get and I like where they are going with capacitors and power management. One day we should have computer/systems management on top of that, like if you want to slave a turret or maybe increase scanning range, you sacrifice or go without some other things.
I'm so happy you talked about the liberator not making any sense from a art perspective. To me it works as a ferry or outpost, I like thinking it would work great as like a moving outpost, able to carry cargo, hold, people, and a few ships to operate as maybe a mobile police post. However like all large military ships accord to CIG "ItS AlSo a DroPsHiP" like no, why would i risk my transport ship that not able to defend itself on a Frontline role when all ot needs to do is ferry other ships and vehicles around. CIG has annoying habit of making every ship a do everything ship. Make up your mind what it does and stuck with it. Ship is a total cash grab bait.
Indeed - just can’t help but think it’s such a big target even I could hit it with flak fire if someone tried to use it as a drop ship. I think the idea of it as a ferry is great, it just makes for less exciting concept art which in turn makes for less dollars! The idea of a Liberator as an outpost is really cool though, hopefully it’s one we’ll see come in with Pyro because that’s the point distance is going to really start mattering.
@@LoudGuns it apparently holds a ton of fuel so I thought an outpost option especially in Pyro would be great, load it with a couple cutty blues and play cops and robbers
I want to starliner for something else it kind of reminds me of the series from well the 400 to 600 800 jump and that one seems to be more in a concept of one another but hauling people around that ship would never make anything that'll be more or less for a luxury liner thing for a single player not planning on hauling players to other places or hauling the MVPs or whatever you want to call them from one place to another place for a tour or anything like that this game ain't except for that kind of thing that I don't think you're able to do that cuz that would have to be one hell of a thing for them to put into it to make sure to make sure the ship actually has something to go off from otherwise did I give you to have this game for gameplay.
Haha I keep saying I’m not a drake boy….except for the Vulture….and the Corsair looks good…..and actually I use my cutty black a lot…..wait maybe I am a Drake boy?
I presume the SRV will be able to tow a ship while in jump (can't tow an Idres, Javelin or larger), thus the end of "claiming" a ship to your location (immersion). ;-) The Vulcan will make a good, emergency fuel ship ("Fuel Rat"). I'm hopping the Pioneer will also be able to construct (3D print) Homesteads? I wonder if I could update my Warden to a F8C?
Yeah I hope there’s a delivery mechanic for ships as opposed to insurance claiming, just doesn’t feel right to effectively be committing fraud daily :) Agreed on the Vulcan, and yes I believe the Pioneer will be able to 3D print the new homestead items. Unfortunately / Fortunately (depending on your viewpoint) you can’t really buy the F8C for cash so you won’t be able to upgrade your Warden. It’s either buy in game (with some requisite rep gained from completing SQ42) or you can get one…..by spending $10,000. I don’t often tell people how to spend their money but if you need ideas for what to do with 10 Grand that isn’t buying spaceships I can always point you to my Patreon : D
Between the C2, Kraken, Liberator and what other ship that can transport other ship(s), that could be some lucrative gameplay (what's the cost to transport a Cutlass from Port O to Port Tressler, 10K+?). ;-) The most expensive ship I've bought was my $300 usd C2.
In theory, Idris and Javelin are not in concept. They just can't be played by players yet, possibly due to SQ42 reasons. That and the servers would die, so, we kinda need meshing.
Yeah that’s true. I also feel there will be cargo hauler end game missions for them, and larger Orgs will probably have one on hand for moving assets (e.g. when heading off to setup a new operations base). The ability to dismantle smaller ships and pack them will be particularly huge for that side of things.
small fact to the gatac railen its cargo isnt realy outside its not in the hull but its still in containers .. unlike the Hull series which got the cargo just bolted to some struts ..so the Railen actually caries its cargo like the carrack
18:00 the problem for me, that bought an Odyssey CCU and almost immediately melted it, is not about Quantanium, but about functionality: I heard the Carrack Killer being pronounced, but I thought it could be a mining prospector, for surveying planets like a big reliant SEN, while the Carrak was the system Mapper. During the Q&A they stated the ship "does nothing" alone: just bring along a terrapin, some small ground vehicle and refuel itself. It's a bigger Freelancer MIS with no science equipments, not scanning and no surveying capabilities(actually the MIS could be better equipped! At 700$ it's a blatant theft, especially because all these infos surfaced after the sale, contradicting previous CIG statements.
Yeah I think the Odyssey’s biggest selling point is that it’s the Perpetual Motion Machine right? So it’s effectively the ship you can point out into the black and go - I know it was mentioned in the derelicts ISC that there will be systems with absolutely nothing in them and for that a fully self-reliant ship would be huge. My biggest issue is when a ship is actually for sale and we’re still theory crafting about what it can do - personally I didn’t and wouldn’t part with any cash unless I’m clear.
@@LoudGuns Yeah, agreed, the Q&A really needs to come out with the ship sale. My Sabre-to-Ares CCU came close to being applied. Glad I didn't, until I get a chance to try it out post-nerf. I kept telling people it would likely get nerfed all to hell but people kept calling me crazy. Guess I wasn't so crazy after all. Buyer beware.
@@GUNNER67akaKelt honestly there’s going to be so many balance changes that there are just a couple of ships I actually own (I’m personally confident that I’ll like the BMM and the Orion regardless because I just think they’re cool). Everything else is just a pile of CCU’s so I can see what’s good and what the org is going to need
I'm team odyssey! You can fill both fuel tanks without spending a dime on fuel or waiting in pyro for a starfarer to show up and hope you have enough money to buy the fuel you need. No one ever said it was a miner it was always shown as filling its own tanks and that is a MAJOR advantage when your talking about range of vehicles.
Haha yeah maybe too flippant a comment :D Really I'm Team Both of Them - as an org we'll probably want some Odyssey's for casting out into the black to get a jist for anything interesting out there, and some Carrack's to act as our more detailed survey corps and as pathfinders for the main Org fleet.
@@LoudGuns I would prefer to be as free as i can be from fuel dependency so it seems the Odyssey coupled with the very long range of a Liberator and its carrying ability should give me the furthest reach and versatility possible.
@@GaryM260 indeed, I was only wondering if you brought a prospector on your liberator could that combo not replicate the perpetual motion of the odyssey?
That last one though... came out, quite surprisingly, a few days ago.
Indeed and I had to eat my words on how I was going to get mine…because I have enough self control to not spend $10K but not enough to not spend $300
I have the same pack
The B is just too similar to other cargo ships except pigeonholed
@@chiffmonkey maybe with cargo hold size, but I like its appearance. Not all about functionality for me.
Thank God we got hull A.
Chris HIMSELF said this:
Do you all remember the AEGIS Nautilus event in Frankfurt/Germany in August 2019? I had the chance to ask Chris Roberts himself exactly the OP's question and he took the time to answer me: The Javelin will definitely come fully equipped, weapons included. Whether the components are civilian, industrial or the weakest military ones, he didn't know. The balance team didn't make any proposals to him. He confirmed that Javelin will not be delivered as an "empty hull"!
From the website;
“PLEASE note before buying that the Javelin is not a free ride to interstellar domination. While it’s the largest ship we have made available to backers, it’s actually the smallest UEE ship-of-the-line. Additionally, Javelins sold to players are “used” by the UEE. They are surplus ships with their military weapons removed. Purchasing a Javelin means a new quest for your Org or team as you rearm and upgrade it for your needs!”
Would make sense if it had some industrial parts that at least let it fly, but personally I hope it’s a toothless giant on day 1.
Chris will say anything to keep that $ coming in. Except finish the game in any significant way.

The Lightning is my very favorite ship design in the game so far. I can't wait to get my hands on one!
Indeed it is epic, I really loved the Squadron 999 one they had at Invictus last year.
There is a way to fly it ingame right now if I'm not mistaken you can do this by doing the criminal equivalent of bounty hunting and then hijacking it
I really enjoyed this video!
Thanks for mentioning the tumbril bikes!!! That's what I always ask about and never hear ANYONE talk about them.
I noticed on the progress tracker there’s work on an update to wheeled vehicle physics, so maybe to go with that?
@@LoudGuns let's hope!
Hahaha ok I love your definition even more than mine!
And I mostly base that on Star Wars and the old X-Wing Vs Tie Fighter games that I played ;-)

Haha very true, I might join you!
Another awesome video from my favourite s-tier content creator
Many thanks mate!
Amazing that a 6month old video is still basically up to date with the game.
I'm really looking forward to a bunch of the concept ships you covered, especially since half of my fleet are concepts, but also the F7A Hornet, just for its more aerodynamic front air vents. I like my Hornet a lot, but those big rectangular air vents look too old-school, like 1970's old-school.
Coolest part about the Starliner for me isn't the player/npc transport but having the domestic/interplanetary ports open in landing zones
So like if you were moving your ships to another location you can fly there then hop on a flight back, I could see the mission system supporting this for players "easily" and adding missions for escorting those flights fairly "easily" as well. Having AI do that might be a ways off but you never know
Great stuff. I love the Anvil Liberator…if I hadn’t already topped out at the Polaris I would’ve been very tempted to grab it!
This is why I’m taking a new approach, I just buy the warbond CCU’s for the smallest amount of cash I can. Then in however many years when everything is on the table I’m going to make my selections! Still the Polaris is the ship I’ll buy myself unless Anvil come out with something comparable so I think you’ve got yourself a great ship!
really good let me know of ships that i didn't were coming just to let you know your audio cuts out for the vulture for about 10 seconds
Cheers Dylan- yeah I must have missed a bit I meant to clip. Perfection always eludes me!
That was good. Nice video there as I haven't been keeping track of those ships. Thanks.
Great commentary Loud Guns, particularly the critique of CIG marketing and sales. I'm very happy to have picked up a Carrack for under $400 via CCU's, as opposed to the Odyssey - also very much on Team Carrack (and Drake all the way)
Cheers David! Yeah I don’t think marketing would give me a job, but honestly I think this approach would be received so much better by backers.
$400 for a ship. Wow.
Great video Guns! I was a wonderful update of pulling all the current data together. Thank you for your hard work!
Cheers mate- sadly it’s the sort of thing I quite enjoy doing :D
Thank you for this roundup, I already forgot some of those ships)
Ralien is a compartmentalized cargo, rather than strictly external. The compartments are said to be protective.
Whereas the Hull series is external.
I know that sounds super cynical, and I'm actually a supporter of the game, but that doesn't mean I don't question many of their decisions and practices.
just got into the game but wow im really looking forward to some of the concepts here, great video.
Good video boss! Remember I got all these ready for the org when they come out :)
Cheers man, might need to borrow the keys from time to time :D
I wish i played with enough people to fully crew a kraken man! Its like a mobile base and i am all for it!
I don't even play the game, yet. However I am extremely excited to see the Gatac Railen in game.
Careful, that’s how SC gets it’s claws in :D
I‘m looking forward to the ranger bikes, especially now that we‘ve seen them appear on the progress tracker
The ARGO isn't stored in the main hangar, there's 3 fighter spots and the snub bay is off to the side on the Idris alongside the cargo. The scene from Squadron 42 where the ARGO is dropping off the prisoners is the source of this confusion :P
All I have to say is that was an ace video. I really enjoyed that and shared it with my org mates.
Cheers Corey! That really helps mate.
I believe that they once said that the Railen‘s cargo is protected, unlike the Hull‘s.
Yeah those pods certainly look to be armoured to some degree
Might it also lend itself to the cargo being inside the ships shields, thereby offering some moderate protection?
I always tell people that the Corsair's biggest competitor is not the Conny but the MSR, because the Corsair also has a hidden under-floor cargo areas and data-running server racks in the rear.
Yeah they are arguably more similar, it’ll be really cool to do a showdown between all 4 when we can. The MSR is my current daily driver but interested to see if the Corsair will take its place.
thanks for lowering the intro music its good and catchy but it scared the shit out of me one night when i had autoplay on
Good video too
I hope that they make hauling ships a game loop once more systems are in. Like the idea of an industrial hauler as opposed to launch pad ship. Like Argo style
Awesome video - awesome presentation and awesome voice.
nice video. one thing I noticed is that the Perseus does have 4 manned turrets in total as opposed to just 2. Two are the dual size 7 weapons and the other two are much smaller dual size 3.
Indeed, sorry I didn’t focus on the others - they’re more meant as point defence I believe. Personally I expect a lot of people will automate these ones with AI blades at which point the Perseus becomes perfect for 3-4 mates.
the Hull E is so big that you just have to shake your head in disbelieve, i love it
Yeah, can’t wait just to see one of those things in game! The verse’s biggest piñata! :D
Amazing video, you put lots of effort into it, so great job!
Would it be possible for you to make an update video on this topic every year or something? it could be a cool series
Thanks mate - yep this will probably be something I update annually. Can always improve and there’s always ships getting finished and new ones coming out!
Btw about the Javelin you read out the outdated stats. Its been upgunned 2 quad size 9 remote turrets + 11 dual S7 + s4 combination turrets.
Thanks for letting me know mate! Matrix of lies trips me up once more!
I know there are 6 of the s7 turrets on the broadsides, but where are the other 5?
That is an insane amount of firepower!
Good god, that is some ridiculous firepower.
it is good to see that there are not that many in concept ships left but ... there are two capital class ships that have been pledged for in the original backing (if i read that right the Bengal and a battle cruiser) that both are on the funding goals on the page but have yet to make ripples in concept .. granted at the moment any big ships are pure potential anyway so yeah can see why but still ;)
Yeah it’s actually worth looking at the list from time to time just to see that there’s more out than still in the pipeline, although new stuff is being announced later on in its development it seems.
With squadron 42 being a big focus now I wonder if we'll see more alien ships coming out.
Great video, And still so many ships to look forward to. Though it maybe awhile before some ships features and tech come online. As a side note, The Idris can hold 3 fighters in the hangar, And then the Argo MPUV hangar is on the ships belly.
Yeah I think I got confused by the art!
Agreed I learned the hard way with the Ares Ion, It pissed me off so much I melted it and haven't played sense
Well done; quite informative
Thanks mate!
I plan on buying an argo srv to help my kracken break atmo, like how cargo ships irl need a tug boat to help monuever into port or disembark.
Thats a great intro! Is that new? Very nice and really gives me nostalgia to old school tv Intros.
That rail gun on the idris is gonna be nasty

@@Ralthen This hadnt even crossed my mind and now I want it to happen.

Thanks for letting me know I’ll take a look!
Great vid, keep the great work
I have an X1 force, want to get a X1 velocity as well one day.
Just imagining the possibilities as far as piracy and trade goes. Both stand so much to gain loop wise.
The hull series seems amazing for both! Such efficient trade, but such a juicy target.
We dont need new ships. We need a finished game.
\_o_/
im awaiting the addition of the drake corsair. the constellation series needs some competition.
RSI Perseus will be my next favorite ship after Avenger Titan.
Even if server meshing isn't in yet and thus the torps would seldom hit their targets, I want my Polaris dammit!
I can understand this - I just want to walk round the thing!
I'm not a Drake guy, BUT oh boy, I'm looking forward to my Vulture! :-)
Haha I keep saying I’m not a drake boy….except for the Vulture….and the Corsair looks good…..and actually I use my cutty black a lot…..wait maybe I am a Drake boy?
I want my Corsair. Hoping I can pvp with its firepower, might be a flying brick though
Haha I reckon as long as you can point at it it’s probably gonna die!!
I cannot wait
The Tumbril Ranger or how i'd call it "Yesterdays LTI Token "
the G12 im hoping to see slapped on that tracker sometime this year
What is your daily driver currently then?? Also very excited for the CORSAIR!!
Currently varies between a Cutty Black and an MSR - I love the MSR but so many doors!!!
I think you missed the Bengal Carrier but beside of that ,great Video !
I mentioned just at the start that it’d be focussed on the pledge ships, but I can do a proper look at the Bengal if it’s interesting to folks.
@@LoudGuns yeah that would be epic !
28 people manning a single ship. 2090 levels of multiplayer sync.
I presume the SRV will be able to tow a ship while in jump (can't tow an Idres, Javelin or larger), thus the end of "claiming" a ship to your location (immersion). ;-)
The Vulcan will make a good, emergency fuel ship ("Fuel Rat").
I'm hopping the Pioneer will also be able to construct (3D print) Homesteads?
I wonder if I could update my Warden to a F8C?
Yeah I hope there’s a delivery mechanic for ships as opposed to insurance claiming, just doesn’t feel right to effectively be committing fraud daily :)
Agreed on the Vulcan, and yes I believe the Pioneer will be able to 3D print the new homestead items.
Between the C2, Kraken, Liberator and what other ship that can transport other ship(s), that could be some lucrative gameplay (what's the cost to transport a Cutlass from Port O to Port Tressler, 10K+?). ;-)
The most expensive ship I've bought was my $300 usd C2.
In theory, Idris and Javelin are not in concept. They just can't be played by players yet, possibly due to SQ42 reasons. That and the servers would die, so, we kinda need meshing.
Yeah I went with a very loose definition of not in the hands of people who pledged for them :D Great profile pic btw - loved Galaxy on Fire!
I think the Hull E is more for Tony Z than players. I see these ships creating the heartbeat of the economy, moving from economic hub to economic hub.
Nice one - yeah that makes a lot more sense!
And the Legionnaire?
Announced after this video was released - my crystal ball isn’t that good :D
@@LoudGuns Yep, won't know 'til we get there and 'there' is still a long way off.
I'm still hoping they un-nerf the Ion a bit, though.
You missed the San’tok.yāi, Its in concept but it feels forgotten, its a ship i wish to have some day.
fantastic vid great job bra
What is this nice background ambient music? Can someone tell me please? It is super relaxing :D
I'm waiting for the polaris, it'll be the FoB of my rl friend, Its big enough to be big and not small enough to be small.
Every ship is still in concept, because they're constantly re iterating and re making them.... Hell the game is still in concept.
True enough- just going for a definition that splits out the in game ships (which I already have a full run down of) from the not in-game ships.
i take it you have watched the Invictus all - ships Q&A with regard the time it takes to make a ship flight ready?
Great video. With all happening its hard to keep up
Cheers John- yep I’d lost track so figured others might have too!
The Nautilus really needs 2 versions a mining versions and all around version like exploration
Haha yeah maybe too flippant a comment :D
Really I'm Team Both of Them - as an org we'll probably want some Odyssey's for casting out into the black to get a jist for anything interesting out there, and some Carrack's to act as our more detailed survey corps and as pathfinders for the main Org fleet.
@@LoudGuns My plan is to use a Liberator and Odyssey together to get out as far as possible with all the tools that can be carried.
@@GaryM260 sounds like a plan, although could it possibly be easier to just go Liberator & Starfarer?
@@LoudGuns I would prefer to be as free as i can be from fuel dependency so it seems the Odyssey coupled with the very long range of a Liberator and its carrying ability should give me the furthest reach and versatility possible.
@@GaryM260 indeed, I was only wondering if you brought a prospector on your liberator could that combo not replicate the perpetual motion of the odyssey?
