Honestly, I can't get enough of the Drake look. It's very 'Aliens' universe from the perspective of the "Lowest cost, highest expectations." I love it, can't get enough and I want more Drake ships.
I received a free fly Vulture for two days during Invictus and made enough to buy my own in-game....REnting onew would be a good way for starting players to get a leg up.
Yep would definitely be a good one to see on the rentals list. Tbh I own a reclaimer but I find myself enjoying the vulture more since the depot changes removed the need to get out of the chair every 2scu!
That would be very cool--and pretty logical actually--if they had missions where you just need to fly a ship from one location to another. This would not only explain how you can request a ship that you know you parked elsewhere in the solar system, but it would be very cool for newer players to make a few bucks flying a random assortment of ships across the system.
I like the idea, the only problem I see is people would end up taking those ships out for a joy ride, or use them for their intended or unintended purposes, like dogfights. Then when the owner gets their ship delivered, it's missing a wing.
@@etogreen - You wouldn't be delivering someones *actual* ship though, just a random ship that's spawned at the origin station and despawned at the delivery point. I get what you're saying though.
A correction to your note about the amount of boxes you can get in the Vuture, with careful positioning it is possible to get 26 SCU of RMC in the cargo area with 13 in the hopper. That will net you over 550 K. It takes some doing because you have to hold F and zoom in on the controls, but it's certainly possible.
The Cat definitely has a nice personality to it. Sure the C2 holds more and flies better. The Cat just feels more like a space trucker vehicle. Only the Argo RAFT comes close.
I keep thinking that the "Herald" will make a good recon/intel gathering ship, ie: look/gather/get outa there. ;-) I'm not sure what would be better a Cutlass with 40 size one missiles or 16 size two Rattler IIs (7 micro missiles per = 112)?
I mostly have drake ships in my hanger. I even ended up melting my Taurus for the Corsair and melted my C1 Spirit for the Vulture. But I did end up getting the C1 again in game. Thats the only ship I have that isn't a Drake.
Super video as usual 👌Even tho i'm not a Drake enjoyer x) As a wide screen user, this is so cool to have this format, i can't get bored of it since you switched :D A little correction tho : it's been 2 patches (3.23.0 and 3.23.1) that I can't log out from the bed of the Vulture. Hope it'll be fix soon, but it seems important to know at the moment :)
First, I really do like Drake's design philosophy. When I got introduced to SC in 2951, I sort of fell in love with the look and feel of the caterpillar. As Loud Guns points out, it isn't nearly as versatile as the Crusader counterpart, It gives off 70's sci-fi vibes, thinking Alien here, mixed with that same era's fighter craft like the F 15 series. Very minimalistic and the cockpits especially will make you believe there's a chance that the seat is going to jam on a rusty rail that's been abused just a bit too much while moving you into position For the unpopular part of my comment, I've never felt particularly attracted to the cutlass series. I think it's fair to say that i simply haven't given them a fair shake but I also haven't felt a particular draw to do so. The roles that the ship typically fills, I have found myself using other ships to fill. That being said, I am not opposed to trying them out. I also note that the pledge store indicates a review of the ship is under way and in light of this, I may change my stance toward it.
I am fully aware that the Connie is superior to the Corsair but ill still choose the Corsair anyway purely on looks. Its just such a cool design and while you loose some cargo space having a functional living space is such a nice feature for it. Feels like a home where as the connie feels like a cheap RV on the inside. Plus it looks more realistic having exposed wire and piping vs something smooth and sterile like crusader or origin. Feels like a working ship where quick access to parts is an essential part of daily maintenance.
If and when the Connie gets a mk2 I will probably switch over to the RSI offering; the single biggest thing holding the Connie back is that it is an old design, with all that it entails. But for now, the Belter look to the interior and the superior suite of pilot controlled weapons* makes the Corsair my go-to choose for most types of missions when I am flying solo. * apart from the paltry missile loadout. The Corsair could really use another two racks.
Not a Drake fan... except for the Vulture. Can stack 23 SCU in the hold with care and have 13 SCU in the buffer, so amazing for salvage despite its relatively small size.
scout cutter can still hold the mule which can hold boxes which can hold valuables so its still pritty solid. but the scanning station probably wont be useable
side note on the Caterpillar; in the future it is planned for it to have modular compartments you can swap out, as well as being able to dethatch the command module, making the caterpillar slightly more versatile then its competitor the C2, being able sacrifice some of its cargo capacity for something like a medical compartment, or a small vehicle repair bay, and being able to fly the command module to do something else while the main hull is being loaded with cargo. also both the main hull and the command module are equipped with tractor beams, they are in quite useless positions as they can not reach into the main cargo deck of the ship, but i guess its better then not having tractor beams
Having loved both the CAT and C2, it's a hard choice, especially once the cat gets modules. There is just something really lovable about the Cat, despite the advantages of the C2. Sadly I think I won't end up with either. I Might end up with an M2 (coz of a killer CCU) but my cat will become a 600i (also, due to a killer CCU)
I've seen way too many Cutlass's defeated by a single pass of ballistics popping one of the engines off to ever buy one. Though I am a bit surprised you didn't mention that the Cutlass Steel's HP has been buffed to over 108,000, more than double of any of the other models...
