If you're making your own spark plug wire extender, the blue crimp on bullet connectors work pretty well. The female side for the plug and the male for the coil side.

Good videos, just watched 3 videos and subbed. I don't have a bike but the basic principles that you explain works on most platforms.

Thanks for sharing, we timed my bike when we 1st got it going front and rear. I want to recheck it, we used a straw for tdc and a coat hanger for a pointer, it was bouncing a lil.

Man the best video ever so how do u get total timing my busa is on wasted spark

What about verifying timing at higher rpm’s? Do you ever see timing drift? We had a situation where the plug was giving a very strange reading not a clear indication of if the timing was correct or not. I can go into more detail if you like.

I just put a sensor on this bike to check ignition drift at higher rpm. I will report back in 2 weeks or so with results.

    Thanks David!
Just bought the same timing light.
    FT550, Busa 01.
    Had 108° prior.
After this video I got to dead on 100° on wasted spark (should I be on wasted spark?)

Sequential in my opinion is better but it also depends on how you have it wired. With a FT550 you should have coils and injectors on separate outputs and then also have the cam sensor wired and working so you should be able to run it in sequential.

How do you determine crank index? I have a 3 cylinder Yamaha ( sidewinder) that I want to use the fuel tech set up with but can’t find any info on actual firing order or crank index.

I need your help with properly phasing my distributor I need clarification 🙏 please I took my engine and set it to TDC then set the pickup and number one spark plug dead on then set my timing light at 20• then adjusted the index on the laptop till zero TDC ON THE CRANK! Car runs 🤷
