Nice man. I'll probably go e85 this spring/summer. Right now it's pretty fun on the street. Did you dyno your car on a dynojet or mustang dyno? My car makes about 530whp when compared to a dynojet.
Chris Whitsell ya I'll probably get bored of this power, however I'm running a bone stock motor and a stock r154. The twin disc clutch helps with the longevity of the trans but the doubt is always there. What trans are you running?
I'm embarrassed to say but I'm running a bone stock r154 with a clutch masters twin disk 850 has been running awsome for along time I want to get it built but just did an ecu upgrade for the winter so that took my money lol
Been debating ls swapping or gte in my 02 5 speed, I keep hearing the the 5 speeds are weak but if I can put 500ish through it I'd love to stay 2j, you comments make me feel better about it,
I'm running an r154. The stock 5-speed manual (w55) will definitely break. It's not designed for a lot of torque. There are many options, but it's not an area that you want to cheap out on if you're looking for reliability. I say stick with the 2jz but I just prefer it over LS.
Turbosauce thanks for clarifying that, I thought the r was he stock one, I'm new to the these cars, appreciate the quick response, guess I'll look an r154, I'v always favored ls motors but there's just something about the 2j that makes me want to go a new route, the ge is my only experience with one but if I stay with the 2j I start with a gte, sweet ride btw.
beautiful bro. I have a built motor is300 as well. turbo/r154 car. just wrecked the clutch. took the trans out and did a full marlin crawler build. its on 6266 around 590 to the rear wheels. looking for the most streetable/slipable twin or triple disk clutch out there. How is the cm850 daily? I drive a lot of hills and traffic and the unsprung 4 puck i'm on is almost undrivable. have to stage the car to around 2400rpm before i can evne move it. Thanks in advance for any help!
Nice man. I have a spare r154 getting the MC treatment so I'll have a backup. The one I'm using now works fine it just has a rattle when idling in neutral when the fluid is warm. Probably a shift fork or something because the sound goes away if you lean on a gear with the clutch out. Anyway, the cm850 is a phenomenal clutch for daily driving. It does squeak a little when engaging but you can minimize it by slipping it more and modulating the throttle. The pedal feels like a ford fiesta. I don't know how you drive a 4 puck, I had a 6 puck before on a subaru and even that was bad.
damn my brother. you just sold me. only thing the build is missing is an intake manifold, a 7675, and the clutch and I'll keep it around 1000wheel. the act 4 puck is one of the biggest mistakes i've made with the car, other than waiting so long to get the AEM ecu. Thanks for the help! Got to put up some pulls !
DjMaarz I'd give CM a call or email. They have different disc materials available that can handle different power levels. I think I have the race/street combo but they have a race/race disc material as well
I'd say around 4000rpm it's at peak boost, but it depends on engine load. I'm running the SX version so it's a little older and probably not as spool friendly as the updated SX-E turbo. You'll most likely have quicker spool.
Turbosauce Okay, thanks for this feedback. I also have BC272 cams; so I’m hoping I don’t run out on the top-end with this turbo. I’m already considering the S366sxe turbo due to lack of flow in top-end rpm. But I’ll see how this turbo responses first.
is300 goals. I need to get an is300 first tho hahahahah
Fantastic looking is300.. 👌🏻
I have almost the exact same set up and I made 615 on 23 psi and e85 super clean build man good job

So to be honest I have no idea what brand of dyno it was but e85 was one of the best choices I did its never enough power lol 700 hear I come

Chris Whitsell it's always good until it breaks lol
Damn she squats hard! Nice build.
Haha thanks. That was on stock suspension. It's on coilovers now ☺
I feel you. I miss my IS like crazy! Good luck with the rest of your build.

get some hub centric rings god damn
sounds amazing!! what wheels are those?
They're XXR 521
What tires you running? Dream build !
excaust manifold=?
What wheels are those. I have a 2001 IS300. Love your car man!!
thank you! they're XXR 521's in 18x8.5 +35

which model exactly? there is a shit load of them on the website

I didn't see exhaust mentioned in the setup list, what did you go with? It's so beautiful, congrats
gunmetallex Thank you. I'm running a cx racing downpipe to a greddy revolution rs exhaust, all 3"
I have a 2JZGTE Mk3 Supra with an S363sxe turbo; but it’s not tuned yet.
What rpm do you spoil at with this turbo??

What's a safe hp numbers for a stock internal is300 ?
Justin Mcnamara well that really depends on a lot of factors. The GE doesn't have the strongest internals.
Turbosauce it's a is300 or a forged miata with a 2860 on it
Justin Mcnamara I'm not sure what a miata has to do with your question.
Turbosauce I'm debating on 2 different cars 2 buy
Justin Mcnamara oh I see. In that case, never a miata.
Why not keep the original 2jz engine into and used the money to build it instead of swapping to gte engine
what bov n wastegate
Tial MV-R 44mm with a 14lb spring and Tial Q BOV.
Turbosauce thanks sir
🤩👏👏👏
Satan's car!
