Sometimes I just marvel at sights like these elk...its like: what was God thinking!? Putting those big antlers to have to carry on top of your head!!! 😂🤣😂🤣
RAY, Yes, California's north coast IS a magical place. That's why when we retired, we sold our SF Bay Area house in the city and got ourselves a little country place just north of Crescent City where we will end our days hiking the redwoods, walking the beaches, gorging on local fresh seafood & admiring the elk & bears in this county. !
Elk are such magnificent creatures! I could wake up to this every morning and be completely happy. We took a wonderful trip to the Redwoods a few years ago and enjoyed every minute of it. We even rode the Skunk Train through the Redwood Forest. Thank you for the awesome vlog!! Oh, and a Happy Belated Thanksgiving!
Thanks, just a little smoke drifted to the coast, not too bad. We waited until the rain storm before heading inland, air is good now most of the fires are out. We have wildfires every summer up in BC so have learned to check the sat images for the smoke patterns so I know where to avoid. Cheers, Ray
Impressive trees and elk. Loved the shot of Ann on the path walking towards you. Gives a different perspective of the size of the trees. Love your videos. Safe travels.
The misses and I showed up around 2 the day you left, elk still there. Had stare down and elk took few steps towards me by bathrooms. They move fast. They weren't there next day or through Sunday. We live 2o miles south of the park. Got a trailer this summer and have been there 4 times. Nice to have place like that close by and still feel your getting away.
So much content so far on this trip! It seems like every other day a new video. Keep the vids coming! We drove past the park on 101 on our last coastal trip a couple months ago and Denise remembered the campground by name from one of your videos. We did see Elk along side the road.
7:16 I love the scale in this shot. A co-worker (Michigan) just went there a month ago and sent me a few pjcs of the same places you went. Beautiful area. Gotta keep it on my list.
I have seen yall in this park for at least 3 years now, and, there is no way I am going to miss seeing it on my own. A close second is in Estes Park Colorado where they wander into town. You have to be very careful around them in September, because of their Rut.
Enjoying watching your trip down the coast. Makes me want to hit the road again. So far I can't get my wife to give up the house so we can full-time. Do you plan to spend anytime in the National Parks?
Wow those Elk are impressive. That big guy has quite a Harem there. Do these elk accept seeing people without running away. Are you hiding where they can't see you? Respectfully JOHN
They are used to people living in an area with a lot of State parks and the National park plus they like to come through the campground. If you keep your distance and don't try an approach them they don't mind your presence, but they keep an eye on you. Cheers, Ray
That big guy’s watching his ladies! Those trees are magnificent! They’re the Coastal Redwoods, are they the same as the redwoods in Muir Woods? But they’re different from the Sequoias in Yosemite, I think. There’s another type of Redwood but they’re in China of all places.
When I am next in the USA I will visit those redwood forests. I've never been to the west coast actually, but I have a plan to rent a small RV and go up and down the west coast. Those redwoods are like something from a different world, maybe like something from the time when dinosaurs roamed the earth.
Still amazed with that camera. The focus really keeps up while zooming in and out. Did a good job with the different light changes too. That’s my next one. Will definitely use your amazon store when ready. Have to sell some older stuff on eBay to save up. Are you using the hand grip and if so how do you like it? Love that park. The Elk are very cool. Couple really big ones there. Loved that old time music and shot withy you and Anne. Such a nice job editing. We went to Meir Woods in Aug. That was the first time we have seen big trees. Still East Coast for a few more yrs. Saw a couple that were burnt on inside like that. Lightning does some crazy things... Can’t wait to get out and travel one day...Cheers as you say.
Thanks, I have it set for full auto everything and it does a good job! I usually use the handgrip as that is what I'm used to with my previous camcorder. Took a little while to get used to the much larger camcorder size but now I like it. but I also have a Joby Gorillapod that I sometimes mount it on. Cheers, Ray

Sounds like Artie Shaw during the elk crossing love scene.
Hubba Hubba...........LOL............ very good
Magnificent animals. The trees are too.
Nice music.
Lmao. Love your channel name.
So cool how they are right out there by the RVs.
Wish I could give this video 2 thumbs up! Great scenery, music, and presentation. Way to go Ray!

Well... you don't see that everyday! 🙃
Hubba hubba! Hahaha I have not heard that expression in for a long time!
One of my favorite places!!!! A good read is "The wild Trees" by Richard Preston
Stunning views of the trees and elk herds. Glad to see they’re getting moisture finally. We hope the fires weren’t an issue during your visit.

Good to know, thanks!

Thanks, I tried to put us in some shots to give a sense of the scale, they are amazingly big!
Those redwoods are amazing! Enjoyed it a lot when I was there back in 2010. Hubba hubba! ;) lol!
I knew they would show up!

Fabulous video we're so happy that the rains finally arrived!
They did a good job of dousing the fires and clearing the air that's for sure. :)
Awesome views, one of these days hope to visit that park, thanks for sharing.
Great video loved the music

Great opening shot with Ann and her camera.

Heading south away from the rain. oh yah! Give me some of that please.
Great video. Glad to see some wildlife coming back to California
You had me for a minute I didn’t think you saw the big bull and then you zoomed in on it excellent video coverage. 👍👊😎
That is a BIG WOW 😲 ON BOTH COUNTS.

Yes, we always like to visit the NPs and National monuments plus State Parks, we just spent a couple days in Yosemite.
Great video! Definitely going to have to soend some time at that park. What a treat to have them around the trailers.
That's a lot of Elk, what a beautiful spot.
Have a great holiday,
Another great video. That's got to be so cool to have all those elk so close.
So what did the elk think of the new truck? I mean you all must be on a first name basis by now, right? 😆
I think they liked how much quieter it is compared to the Old Blue. :)
Wow those Elk are impressive. That big guy has quite a Harem there. Do these elk accept seeing people without running away. Are you hiding where they can't see you? Respectfully JOHN

Ray, if you climb that big ol tree, you should be able to see home from there.. hahaha
wow great vid short film whatever its getting better and better Ray your on to something good here for this 2018 - 19 season
Ray, I think a polorized filter might have helped with that sky glare. Great video, I remember going through there in the late 70's as a kid.
Thanks. :)
Really good video.
That big guy’s watching his ladies!

I think they call them all Redwoods but the coastal is a different type unique to the damp foggy coastal valleys and mountains.

brighton dude...You will not be disappointed, I promise you that.
Stunning!

How far east do you think you'll travel during this snow bird season?
Not sure, don't plan too far ahead. If the weather is nice I'd like to get back over to New Mexico, maybe western Texas
Are the elk protected from the 2 legged?
I'm not sure myself but most of where they hang out is State and National Park land so I guess they are safe.
What was the music at the end?
Hipcat Swagger 3 It's from a music subscription service I use - player.epidemicsound.com/search/?search_query=The%20Hipcat%20Swagger%203
it is getting toward the end of the 'rutting' season. So those males could be very aggressive.
Does the owner still do chainsaw carving ?
Not sure not many people around this time of year, seemed to be lots of carvings in the nearby town of Orick.
whats going on with your camera ray
Not sure what you mean?
your video is fickering i dont think it is on my end
No flickering for me. (Chromebook & home wifi)
Maybe a TH-cam glitch looks OK here
Nope picture looks great...
