    HI Anton, I had the same with my daughters A180 1.5 D... 1 of the front pads was a lot more worn than the other 3. It was the N/S inner. It was a lot tighter when I took the pads out. I just put it down to crud/rust on the caliper. I made sure that it was rust free and well lubed -coppasslip- before reassembly. I had a similar problem on my Golf R, that was down to a sticky slider pin, but the Mercs were fine. Cheers, Ewan . PS Great commentary mate :-)

    • @aaanton11

      Its a bit hit and miss, but it only takes for one pad to be slightly tighter than the others for it to affect how it wears, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

    Really helpful video. Good to know the socket sizes and types before starting.
    Horrible to see the completely worn brake pad. Did the driver not hear anything?
    Some thoughts
    - safer to use axle stands
    - I always use copper grease on the surface where the pads slide
    - would have been better to tie the calliper up immediately, rather than leave it hanging on the brake hose at first.
    - new pads used to come with a protective coating to stop corrosion. Clean off with meths.
    - better to use a torque wrench when reassembling.
    - good idea to use the adjustable wrench to retract the piston

    A question as I'm going to be looking at doing this as my first ever attempt on my own A200D. Bit confused why the brake fluid is such an important thing to check? Can you let me know why I'll need to do this as I didn't see any changes etc!

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      As the brake pads wear, the fluid transfers to the Calipers, so when the Calipers are pushed back the fluid needs space to return to the reservoir, if it overflows the brake fluid will dissolve any paint it contacts, so spills need to be washed off quickly. Thanks for the great comments 👍🏻🛠
