Ok, i actually was thinking a similar scenario with my oc's So the girl's mom just died recently and was supernatural, also kinda "evil", her father is human and the girl (called Sophy) been on the "good guys" side all her life. However now starts to reminisce all her mother taught her, questions what is really right or wrong, tries to see "the truth" her mother saw. She makes a full turn around and decides to follows her mother steps, finally embraces her supernatural side.

I know this song already has a meaning and whatnot, but it occurred to me that it could be about a narcissistic parent. All of the references to a “blood right” could mean that the parent wants their child to “continue” their own work and accomplish their goals. “Your bloodline, the front line, is pulling the stings here”. Pretty obvious; the parent is controlling the child for their own benefit. The “are you even really there?”In the chorus Could refer to the child wanting their parent to show some warmth and love for the child them-self, and not their accomplishments. “Bear your burden through the flood” basically, the parent could be saying “I don’t care what you’re going through; you will do what I want you to do. Every reference to ‘lies’ or ‘deceptions’ could mean the parent doesn’t want their child to be influenced by the outside world and realize that they have the power to break free of their parent’s control. That’s my theory anyway.

Bit late to the party, but I appreciate the "bear your burden through the flood" line. This was a song made for that one comic she was making a few years back right? The line says to "bear your burden through the flood" and in the ARG/ARE's that gave Slenderman his start, his presence or influence was often symbolized as rain, or a flood. I think that more or less meant that the Seer had to uphold the responsibility/destiny bestowed upon her and follow through with the Slenderman's machinations, lest the alternative of meeting Zalgo becomes a reality

whenever I hear this I think of my Oc, Holly. She is Slenderman's proxy and idk this seems to fit her a bit. especially "Everything's a blatant lie hiding right before your eyes" when she realises the world is not how she thought. Who else is reminded of Ciel Phantomhive? Lyric analysis: I'll try to make this quick. While in all honesty, pretty much every single line has certain points, I'm just going to try to cover the main ones for the sake of time. So: "Bear your burden through the flood, take your place that's written in blood." This totally resonates with Ciel's legacy, what he's expected to do as the last of the Phantomhives. It's a burden on him, anyone can see that. I mean, think about it. When he's not stuck doing paperwork in his mansion, he has to be the Queen's Guard Dog, which means putting himself in danger in order to solve various cases of murder, kidnappings, drug rings, etc., and taking down various criminals. That's no life for a 13-year old kid, but because his family's been in that line of work for generations, he has to. He is very much like a dog, with a collar wrapped tight around him that he can't escape. He has to marry Elizabeth, whether or not he loves her, he isn't given that choice. I mean, you could even say that being a nobleman in it of itself is his curse - he has to maintain a certain, clean front, please the public, attend parties, dress, speak, act a certain way. It's honestly ridiculous. Again, "take your place that's written in blood." The Phantomhive history is stained with blood from all corners. The death of his parents, the line of work he's in, all of it. It's like, after his parent's death, he had to step into a new line of responsibility with their blood coated on it. Hell, this could even pertain to the deal he made with Sebastian, quite literally a deal with the devil, to give up his soul, the deal sealed and "written in blood." Next, "be steadfast and unmoved, your motives must stay true." What's Ciel's end goal in all of this? His REVENGE. That's his driving force behind just about every single thing he does. Remember when Angela kidnapped him and try to trick him with the faces of his parents, tried to get him to let go? He said, that his hate is all he has left. That he can't let go. Sebastian reminds him of this as well, time and time again, what his end goal must be. He must not be swayed by feelings, or mercy on others - that is what is expected of him. On a lighter note, this could also be taken as a jab at his incredibly stubborn, unmoving nature. Again, "your bloodline, the frontline, is pulling the strings here", is another reminder of his cursed legacy. "Their foundations are crumbling, built upon pain and fear." Another reference to the death of his parents, and how Ciel's state of mind slowly crumbles as the show progresses, on account of what he's been through and all the hell he's seen. "'Steady yourself, LITTLE ONE, you are shaking." This could be perceived as being said from Sebastian's point of view. Another reminder of just how young Ciel is to be put though all of this. "Stand, take your place in the circle of your blood right."' "Swallow the feeling, don't let it show though." A big tell of Ciel's personality - how he wears an almost permanent, cold mask, a facade, not letting any feeling whatsoever show though, because he's afraid to be vulnerable, to be hurt again, and his feelings are irrelevant in most of the situations he's been thrust in. He has to go forward anyways, and do whatever it takes. Another part of being a nobleman, keeping up a certain appearance, a certain reputation. Anyways, these are all the points that stood out to me in particular. What do you guys think of this?

I can't believe it's been six years, and I'm still listening happily to this.
It's 2022 and this song still holds up.
i haven't listened to this song in like 2 yrs but it popped up on my feed, and i still remember every word of it.
I know this song already has a meaning and whatnot, but it occurred to me that it could be about a narcissistic parent.
All of the references to a “blood right” could mean that the parent wants their child to “continue” their own work and accomplish their goals.
“Your bloodline, the front line, is pulling the stings here”. Pretty obvious; the parent is controlling the child for their own benefit.
The “are you even really there?”In the chorus Could refer to the child wanting their parent to show some warmth and love for the child them-self, and not their accomplishments.
“Bear your burden through the flood” basically, the parent could be saying “I don’t care what you’re going through; you will do what I want you to do.
Every reference to ‘lies’ or ‘deceptions’ could mean the parent doesn’t want their child to be influenced by the outside world and realize that they have the power to break free of their parent’s control.
That’s my theory anyway.
Listening to this in February of 2016. It has now almost been two years and I think you have improved so much over the last two years. It's amazing. You are amazing. Bit late to the party, but I appreciate the "bear your burden through the flood" line. This was a song made for that one comic she was making a few years back right? The line says to "bear your burden through the flood" and in the ARG/ARE's that gave Slenderman his start, his presence or influence was often symbolized as rain, or a flood. I think that more or less meant that the Seer had to uphold the responsibility/destiny bestowed upon her and follow through with the Slenderman's machinations, lest the alternative of meeting Zalgo becomes a reality

Cobalt Sthenia I think it's supposed to mean that the seer is neutral, so she must keep her 'burden' safe from people who want to use her. I think, I mean, because this is based on the series The Seer.

Who else is reminded of Ciel Phantomhive?
Lyric analysis: I'll try to make this quick. While in all honesty, pretty much every single line has certain points, I'm just going to try to cover the main ones for the sake of time.
So: "Bear your burden through the flood, take your place that's written in blood." This totally resonates with Ciel's legacy, what he's expected to do as the last of the Phantomhives. It's a burden on him, anyone can see that. I mean, think about it. When he's not stuck doing paperwork in his mansion, he has to be the Queen's Guard Dog, which means putting himself in danger in order to solve various cases of murder, kidnappings, drug rings, etc., and taking down various criminals. That's no life for a 13-year old kid, but because his family's been in that line of work for generations, he has to. He is very much like a dog, with a collar wrapped tight around him that he can't escape. He has to marry Elizabeth, whether or not he loves her, he isn't given that choice. I mean, you could even say that being a nobleman in it of itself is his curse - he has to maintain a certain, clean front, please the public, attend parties, dress, speak, act a certain way. It's honestly ridiculous. Again, "take your place that's written in blood." The Phantomhive history is stained with blood from all corners. The death of his parents, the line of work he's in, all of it. It's like, after his parent's death, he had to step into a new line of responsibility with their blood coated on it. Hell, this could even pertain to the deal he made with Sebastian, quite literally a deal with the devil, to give up his soul, the deal sealed and "written in blood."
Next, "be steadfast and unmoved, your motives must stay true." What's Ciel's end goal in all of this? His REVENGE. That's his driving force behind just about every single thing he does. Remember when Angela kidnapped him and try to trick him with the faces of his parents, tried to get him to let go? He said, that his hate is all he has left. That he can't let go. Sebastian reminds him of this as well, time and time again, what his end goal must be. He must not be swayed by feelings, or mercy on others - that is what is expected of him. On a lighter note, this could also be taken as a jab at his incredibly stubborn, unmoving nature.
Again, "your bloodline, the frontline, is pulling the strings here", is another reminder of his cursed legacy.
"Their foundations are crumbling, built upon pain and fear." Another reference to the death of his parents, and how Ciel's state of mind slowly crumbles as the show progresses, on account of what he's been through and all the hell he's seen.
"'Steady yourself, LITTLE ONE, you are shaking." This could be perceived as being said from Sebastian's point of view. Another reminder of just how young Ciel is to be put though all of this.
"Stand, take your place in the circle of your blood right."'
"Swallow the feeling, don't let it show though." A big tell of Ciel's personality - how he wears an almost permanent, cold mask, a facade, not letting any feeling whatsoever show though, because he's afraid to be vulnerable, to be hurt again, and his feelings are irrelevant in most of the situations he's been thrust in. He has to go forward anyways, and do whatever it takes. Another part of being a nobleman, keeping up a certain appearance, a certain reputation.
Anyways, these are all the points that stood out to me in particular. What do you guys think of this?
