  • In this experiential talk, Mike Sanders proposes a new way of thinking about our brain. Realizing we actually operate within “three” brains (primal emotional, and higher), Mike posits that our quality of life, including success in business and home, depends on which of our three brains we allow to lead us.
Mike suggests that by routinely accessing and allowing the higher brain to lead, we can get what we really want and find the happiness we truly deserve.
Michael Sanders is an IT Project Manager with over 20 years’ experience in utilities, aerospace, and research, and serves in leadership capacities for the Project Management Institute. He is a public speaker, author, and proud Native American. His passions include developing others, change management, and human motivation.
Michael has a BA in Organizational Management and an MA in Organizational Leadership. He has published a white paper, “Controlling Communication Channels” and two books: Advanced Multitasking and 7 Common Mistakes Employees Make in a Downsizing.

Thank you. This discussion is composed of many elements that address our ever changing "reality" which is based on our cognitive presence. I catch myself at times "deep" in the wrong brain and just burst out laughing at taking so seriously the mundane and insignificant. The 60-second brain app demonstrated in the talk allows us to inhabit a higher brain and set ourselves up for success - and the best part is it's always available and free of charge. Best to you. Mike

The thought exercise around 6 minutes in didn't really work. It just made me want a banana...

I think this went over my head or something. I think I understood what he was getting at, but I just could't connect it to my own situation, couldn't relate it to my own life. Missed the mark somehow.

Daniel, it is not a simple thing to realize we have different states of consciousness during the day. We slip into these states subtly and without warning. To gain control of our present and future, the idea here is to know who we are (which state we are in) and have the ability to push ourselves into a state of mind resulting in actions that help rather than hurt. My proposal in the talk is there are three states of mind, and the higher state is best for life direction and making important decisions. More importantly, we want to be able to respond to life, rather than react to it. The 60-second brain app helps up rise into that higher state. Hope this helps. Best to you.

Hello Paul. Introduced in the talk, it is a visualization technique placing your conscious state in your prefrontal cortex. We do the exercise in the talk.

Quite reasonable thoughts among a pile of useless litter on that channel. Undoubtedly like! Thank you.

The term human means that you know that this is a banana and it has four sides and you know this wide and clear but still you know this is just a banana and nothing else
