Transport to Oblivion | Transformers Generation 1 | Season 1 | E04 | Hasbro Pulse
The Decepticons, working with Shockwave on Cybertron, create the "space bridge" --device to transport energon cubes between the two planets. When Spike and Bumblebee stumble across the riverbed where the space bridge is being tested, they are captured by the Decepticons, who intend to use the boy to guide the energon shipment through the dangerous device. Bumblebee escapes, and ultimately leads the Autobots back to rescue Spike and destroy the shipment.

Why would the engineers Wheeljack and Huffer be out on patrol though? Trying to steal energy just like the Decepticons? Trailbreaker was the defensive strategist, so he should probably be staying at the base to, ah, defend it. I get the warriors heading out, but not these others.

Acording to Skids' profile, he daydreams a lot, maybe the reason we only saw Skids twice on the show is because he gets distracted and daydreams thus missing missions he's assigned on.

One of the problems with season 3 was no more Megatron/Starscream fun.
He even got his own star scream
The only part of this show i found hard to believe as a kid is no one noticed a space ship sticking out of a mountain in 4 million years.
Maybe it was burried under rocks during that time and when the volcano erupted, off screen the rocks shattered revealing the ship.

The Decepticons are environmentally responsible, so far I’ve seen them get energy from solar, wind, and hydro lol

Saturday morning cartoons!! It's like it's 38 years ago all over. This will forever be my favorite anime cartoon.

From the very first few episodes Optimus prime showed his leadership, courage, and sharpshooting!
I kinda feel sorry for Shockwave, being stuck back at home for 4 million years, waiting for the rest of his team to get back.... then again, maybe there's some kind of interstellar-style time dilation involved....
The time I watch this show when I was 12 years old now I'm 51 still love it and watch this great transformer cartoon it bring me back my memories thanks Hasbro
The concepts introduced in this episode are evergreen, but they went the ultra-simple route. Shockwave contacts Megatron after 4 million years? Why wouldn''t it be Megatron contacting Cybertron? Optimus orders Bumblebee to spy on the Decepticons with no idea where they are? No problem they will just find them in a random ditch.
None of this makes me love this episode any less. LOL
I love how random this show is. feels like it was written for kids by kids!
At 5:45 you see two Skywarps. The first one flies away behind Starscream and the second one flies together with Starscream.
One of those was supposed to be thindercracker or an.error

I was born in 2005 so I dont consider myself an "OG" or anything but I had all of season 1 on vhs and before I saw 2007 tf this was what I watched and its so cool to see it all again, if my childhood had a theme song it definitely be the opening to this masterpiece. Thanks hasbro!
i was born in 2005 too and g1 is still my favourite interpretation of transformers i love the simple designs and their personalities

I love how this seris dosent focus on the humans like the modern ones do
People do that really frequently when they try to make a movie based on a TV show. They'll somehow over the course of 1 to 2.5 hours manage to give the main characters 5 minutes of screen time, 3 lines of dialog and 0 character development, and then make the show about some new character whose boring and nobody's heard of. Star trek did that: Spock, Uhura, Bones and Scotty were barely in there, but there was this whale biologist that I forget the name of who we were supposed to relate to and like, I guess, who got most of the attention.

Depends on which continuity you believe but the Great Shutdown deactivated most transformers on Cybertron for roughly the same time Prime and Megatron we're deactivated on Earth: 4 million years.

Chris Latta's voice sounds off. Maybe he was still figuring out how Starscream was supposed to sound, but I like to imagine Megatron beat him so hard after that last attempt at mutiny he sounded funny for an episode or two.

Starscream wanted to over throw Megatron but seems each time Megatron transforms into a gun it is Starscream who handles the shootin!

i love jazzes voice actor so much. it fits him so well.

I'm guessing that the space bridge idea was proposed before Megs and co ended up on Earth. If so, why didn't Megs try contacting Shockwave? It's possible that he may have thought that Shockwave was dead after all that time. Shockwave could have thought likewise about Megs, but it didn't stop him from trying to contact him for 4 million years straight.
I got this episode on VHS as a Christmas gift as a kid and must have watched it more than a thousand times. Now 43 years old, and I still remember every line. Still have the VHS tape too.

As I have said previously. Seasons 1 and 2 were better than Season 3. As Seasons 1 and 2 mixed old and new characters together which brought balance to the show.
The energy vampire episode from s3 is one of my favorites episodes from the show. You could probably take that episode and expand it into a semi horror movie.
Season 3 is great in its own way as it wasn't confined in Earth setting. We got to see things happening on Cybertron and space.

Seasons 1 and 2 were about the story, so we got much better continuity. Seasons 3 and 4 exist for the sole purpose of selling toys.
Ironhide fared better from that blast by Megatron than he did in the movie

A fantastic follow up and continuation to the three part pilot that featured the debut of the Decepticon space bridge which would play a huge role in the first 2 seasons of Transformers.
When I was a kid, the 1st time this episode aired, I SWEAR Megatron gave Spike the finger at about 19:28. The next time it aired, I sat super close to the Sony Trinatron color TV we had waiting for it to happen... But it didn't. I'm pretty sure that it was replace with this here, but I have never been able to find the clip with the finger in it.
After watching this I’m convinced Bumblee Bee and Spike are on the spectrum

Capture Prime, and a few other Autobots, make them think they're Decepticons or something, and the war is over! And then he just leaves the Autobots in that cave, having to know full well that they have plenty of firepower to get out?! You know, I'm starting to see why Starscream tries to take command every time Megatron gets so much as a cyber cold.
Megatron in g1 canonically got brain damage
In the first episode, Megaton reactivates all of the Deceptions after the crash, and doesn't kill the deactivated Autobots right there and then.
During the four million year time gap, I wonder how many times did Shockwave try to contact Megatron.

Shockwave literally did nothing for four millions years while all the transformers were offline after the Ark crashed. To be honest if he was on the clock it doesn't seem a bad strategy.
Every time a transformers show or movie ends it ends with all transformers go back to cybertron to rebuild their war torn planet with the decepticons all destroyed, captured or make a peace treaty with the autobots.

When I was a kid I would sometimes wonder: why do the auto bots sometimes fire purple lasers, and why are there two Star Screams in the episode. Now I know - zero fox given to continuity.
