By not including waterproofing or wireless charging, they settled. They add things people literally were asking for for years and now people complain they're to expensive 🤦♂️
@@ShaunNater same I thought smart watches in general were useless until I got an Apple Watch, my favourite feature is definitely unlocking my Mac and iPhone (if wearing a mask) also just raising my hand to speak a command is also useful for setting reminders and calendar events.
Nice review! Thanks for doing it! I wonder if the mismatch in step count might be related to arm use. Have you considered switching arms, so the Apple Watch and OnePlus watch are on the other arm for a day or two, to see if the Apple Watch count is still higher?
I've bought one (waiting on delivery), mostly for testing and fun. I don't really need one or see the point in having one of these very future rich watches that needs to taken off and charged pretty often. That would simply just become one more device to charge. So maybe this can be the product for me. It's basically a hybrid between a wrist band and a watch, simple and good battery. If you know what you are getting and don't expect it to be something else, it could probably be something great. I'm looking forward on using it and see where the software is heading. If they stay with 1-2 weeks battery life watches in possible next gen watches I probably buy that too
@@100100freak My main use is to be notified and be able to preview notifications and use it as a regular watch. Steps, Spo2, sleep tracking and all that is just pure bonus/fun and seems to work pretty well. I don't use the training features though. I get close to 2 weeks battery time with all other tracking on. Everything beyond 1 week is good enough for me. More heavy users that use AOD and training features are not all that happy. Some GPS related issues and such. Missing features and such... And some buy it thinking and expecting something completely different from what it really is. If actually seeing it as a hybrid of smart band and watch, reading and understanding the specs, you get a better idea of what to expect. It's not what everybody wants. But it could be what YOU want if you have the right demands and expectations.
1:01 you SHOULD make a video about it! The more efficient education, the better. Honestly, I think the Galaxy watches are the closest watch lineup to an Apple watch in my opinion.

Love you man for no ADS !! ❤️

Let's go to Shenzhen to OnePlus HQ and tell em they are settling

“It’s a tough job but somebody’s gotta do it.” 😹😹😹
Yeah well he would have had to charge one very night... That would be a pain!
Also needs a second watch to make up for the stopped clock on the wall.
I know tough jobs lol
@Ronak Jain Yep!
@Ronak Jain yes, but maybe not having one at all would be easier for those who get distracted by one that never changes time 🤔
Does anyone know which smartwatch (yellow?) is in the background in his a-roll? Possibly the Pixel Watch?

I just discovered Garmin's lower-cost options, and for me (a die-hard pebbler) there is no other option. I'm currently saving up for the forerunner 55, but if Garmin released a Venu SQ with buttons instead of a touch screen, I would've bought it already.
Apple Watch is actually so good at motivating you that if you go on a walk without your watch you’ll be sad that the watch cannot see your hard work😂
Haha true ! I’d feel the same way if I’m out walking or exercising without the watch on my wrist.
@@yarekoog2857 Yeah I just think that now I’m not getting my rings full and I’m not getting any awards this week. I almost lose my motivation to go for a walk cause what’s the point anymore😂😂
Definitely. The way it's done is very intuitive. I got into running every day because of that.
@@aaronrajala4271 yes after a certain point u need to really go out of your way to get awards cos u have to do better than your previous best but I don’t worry about that sort of thing as long my move ring is a full circle. 😅
How do you see it? Is it that bad? Or not a big deal?
I would be interested in a video about how useful the Apple Watch is, and how the experience differs with and without an iPhone.
How do you want to use it without an iPhone? Staring at a black screen all day?

Reviewing the OnePlus Watch
I see what you did there
Its OnePlus without the Plus. That is exactly the case with this watch.
2:04 remember when this could be used as a description for a phone
A Watch for each wrist 👀
This is undoubtedly the ultimate ‘Tech Handcuffs’
If the only positives from this watch is that “it tells time, and reads you notifications” then there is literally no way someone can justify paying $159 for this. Any $20 smart watch from amazon can do the same exact thing. If you really need a premium smartwatch for your android phone your only real option are Samsung’s galaxy watches.
I always thought fossil watches seemed pretty good. Smartwatches are so confusing for me as someone who's always used fitbits, they put fitness first so I'm always confused whether or not smartwatches would work for me
@@billjamal4764 Fossil watches are alright, but their charging ring issue is still present a few years later even in newer models. Source: me who own a Gen 5.
@@BankMoviegoer I've never owned one so that's good to know
if it was my first watch i wouldn't even realize you are supposed to be able to interact with notifications.
@Reader Cat Yeah and they’re way cheaper.
no. because you are used to doing it on phones. thats natural.

OnePlus are listening. The UK release date was 24/04. then the website said 30/04, now it just says Coming Soon. Was planning to buy it this weekend but if they're waiting for more software updates to be released happy to wait.

OnePlus before: Never settle
OnePlus now: Settle
Carl Pei just took 'Never' with him and turned it into 'Nothing'
And now OnePlus is just left with 'Settle'
good job you just explained the video title
By not including waterproofing or wireless charging, they settled. They add things people literally were asking for for years and now people complain they're to expensive 🤦♂️
3 things I would want on a smartwatch: Paying, always on display, music controls. Doesn't seem to really have any of them.
I only need: Constant heart rate, less than $200, and that's about it
@@ShaunNater Apple watch is the only thing I regret about switching to Android. Still got my airpod pros tho
Have you considered switching arms, so the Apple Watch and OnePlus watch are on the other arm for a day or two, to see if the Apple Watch count is still higher?
that's an interesting point, since the dominant hand would have more swinging motions that might count as steps.
@@re_i_gn the other alternative (that I didn't think about when I made the original comment) is to wear both on the same arm.
Yes with the new update now the watch app asks which arm you will be wearing, i guess they listen deeply to our boy mkbhd
I would love a video about the Apple Watch Android competition situation!
holy shit those smart watch animations at 7:15 were not a necessity but dope as hell🥵
yes..thats the dedication
Love how marques always comes up with the best titles, that are always about the brand or something.
If they stay with 1-2 weeks battery life watches in possible next gen watches I probably buy that too
how is it?
Honestly, I think the Galaxy watches are the closest watch lineup to an Apple watch in my opinion.
also the oppo watch is good too

Great review. I was considering getting the watch since I have the Oneplus 8. It seems to use the Wear OS primarily. I will stick to my first choice and buy the latest ticwatch pro.
