Hey guys! Thank you so much for watching/interacting with this video over the years! Unfortunately, I just sold this car yesterday...so I don't have her anymore. It was fun but I needed a bigger family vehicle for the growing family. So I bought a 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Limited! As nice as this testly style screen was...nothing beats the latest tech in today's car...just made me wonder why I waited so long and I had to put up with the stuff from this screen from time to time. But yeah...I don't have it anymore...so I really wouldn't be able to give updates or answer questions. It did work from the start all the way till i traded it...I made sure to restore it to factory and got my accounts out of there. Speaking of accounts, thats another danger to this car because if you logged in to your google, facebook etc. accounts and sombody steals the car or another person drives it, friend, mechanic, vallet...that have access to your stuff so that's a big no no that I was living with the past few years. The new cars, you get in with android auto or apple car play and your information doesn't stay in the vehicle. Anyways..rant over...lol! Thanks for the support!
@loz_a8069 little things like occasionally it wouldn't automatically connect to my Hotspot or bluetooth on my phone. If i had an older car like that..i would still get one today. I got it at phoenix automotive.
@user-lc7qc6cf3w i picked up a 4cyl turbo limited model...we love it so far...except wireless android auto is hit or miss on my phone automatically connecting...but my wife's phone has no problems
Currently drive a 2005 acura tsx with an aftermarket tesla style tablet installed. Looking to get a new car within the next year or two and this generation of Lexus has been catching my eye. Great to know that they're just as aftermarket friendly as Acura's are. Thank you for the video.

This is sick, very nice I wish I had this in my 2008 ES350 . It’s surprising that you have everything fully functioning in the car when set it up. I’ll try & do it one day.
No problem! If you get one..there's a facebook group for these units..you will need to be in there you gonna need some help..lol! These are plug and play but the software end will need some playing around with. Little issues here and there..but usually nothing that can't be fixed.
Just wanted to say Thanks for posting this! I got one from there after seeing this and because I'm not too far from them, had them install it a almost a week ago. It's all pretty straightforward, and once the software end gets set up/personalized (which even the company doesn't do), it's pretty cool! We even got it to take the factory backup camera once we played with it a little. I've had it a few days now and if there is any "nerd" at all that exists, most people should have no problem with it. Most installers look at you funny (I was trying to find someone really close to do it to save a trip) but it really is almost completely plug and play as long as you are not afraid to play with settings and stuff. The wife loves it and she is not a techie at all!!
Did warning lights appeared on your dash after installation? I have several of them and it's really annoying me, please what do I do to get rid of the lights? They weren't there prior to the installation, pls help out
How did you get it to work with the stock reverse camera?! And did you need to buy anything else for it? did you also have to buy the software or how did you get that
@@salnaves7084 Phoenix did the installation. They told me at first it would not work, but it did. No additional software required. It works, that's all I know. They refunded the camera on my order.
@@SmokeyES350 No, none that I can attribute to the panel installation. Again, I had the factory install, and paid for it, but in the end very worth it to me to do it that way.
I just got mine installed today and I’m still learning the small bits; wireless CarPlay does work for me, so that’s cool. Boot up is fast and I got a backup camera too; the only question I have is how can I change the base time and day…? That’s the only thing
The factory as i remember didn't have wood in that area anyways...it did have a tiny bit at the bottom under the volume and tune knob but it didn't go all up the sides
I love my car..hanging on to it as long as i can. If you want to go crazy and really catch up with the latest tech..there are kits out there for blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors etc. I may do those in the futue..but for now..i'm good wit this. My car was basic, it didn't have backup camera..i had to install that.
It was worth anything to get a the F-type logo off there TBH. But I have to give you credit on the full send, I would be screwing my ride up for sure installing something like this so you have the know-how.
I have heard others say there are a lot of glitches with it (maybe an older version). Do you find it qwerky at all? I dont feel like constantly tinkering with something. I dont mind doing a lengthy setup and messing with things for a bit to get it right....but will it work pretty flawless once i dial it in? Thanks!
In the beginning was tinkering with it..maybe for the first week or two...most of it were cosmetic like trying out different launchers etc..but this thing worked from the first moment i installed it
How has this held up over the past year of using it? i've read a lot of negative reviews about long term quality with these.....just curious what your thoughts are.
It's not perfect...it does have hiccups every now and then. Small stuff like the backup lines won't move with steering input sometimes..but the next time you turn it on..it's fine. Shit like that. It's an android and made in china..so gotta go in to it with that expectation. But it does what its supposed to do 95% of the time.
Yo TRG, great video, when you installed this, did all the connectors in the back match all the cables from the stock unit, cause I am installing mine and I have 2 cables from the stock unit that doesn't seem to connect to anything.
I didn't make that one..there's a facebook group all dedicated to this. There's a coupld of guys on there that really help with problems etc. Some do charge a little money. Like this symbol i paid like $20. I can...but i have a dedicated wifi hotspot i plug in to ob2. It depends on the phone I guess but mine worked sometimes and it didn't other times. with the dedicated hotspot..i just get in and go. I'm talking about the automated part of the phone...i had it turn on wifi hotspot when blutooth connected, that part was finicky. Of course i could've manually got on my phone and turned on the hotspot but i'm lazy.

They all work...its pretty much plug and play...the plugs in the back match with what's on the car..each plug is a different shape...so you just match it
Hello… I have a couple questions! 1st. Did you have to buy any other extra things for it to work… like the steering wheel controls, the AC system buttons, etc etc.. 2nd. Also… my stock radio comes with the gps screen as well as reverse camera! Would I need anything else for it to work with that same system or is it still plug n play?!
depending on where you buy it, like i bought mine at phoenix audio..they had a drop down of car trim levels. My car didn't have a factory screen or nav so i got the regular version..i had to hook up my own back up camera. If you already have a screen and backup cam, they have a model for that to make it all plug and play. everything works, steering control etc. its just like an android phone or tablet, you download what you want..google maps etc. it comes with its own navigation but i never tried it..google is better. it already has wifi so your phone or hotspot will work with it. yes you can mirror
Front 6x9 Back 6 1/2 For the front, i was able to put a 7'' in there..kenwood makes one with everything you need to make it fit. No fabrication needed.
Hello, I would like to know if to make the change of player you had to make any modification in the connection cables or is it simply to remove the old one and place the new one without modifications?

Actually no, because this system is a plug and play..its just a matter of matching to the factory harness. I changed to an aftermarket head unit before this one and i had a hard time disconnecting because there was a lot of wiring for that. But if you have factory..it should be easy.
Would this work for the models with the navigation screen ?? How’s the sound? Mine is pretty crap and I’d like to have better sound with an aftermarket stereo. Does the climate controls work ? How much and where did you get this
I got it a phoenix auto. They have a model for whatever trim level you have. With or without nav..just choose the right one for you. The radio is crap but i don't listen to that..i do streaming. Climate controls work..everything is touch screen and steering controls work. prices is hovering around 600+
I can play music through bluetooth..but i have to press the call or bluetooth botton. It's gonna show the phone screen where you can dial etc. but then on my phone, i can play music through it.

I got mine from phoenix..my car is the basic model..didn't come with backup camera from the factory..i had to put my own camera..it's not hard..just time consuming running the wire from back there to the front.
@0L sKooL ..I doubt it..a lot of them look down on the products..they don't have a lot of experience with this. They certainly won't put any kind of warranty/guarantee on a product like this. They're used to the normal alpine pioneer etc

There was an issue, a check engine light would come on, I still haven't had time to research why. When i unplug the ob2 from the radio to the car, its fine. I do lose my trajectory backup lines when i disconnect

This one is for the o7 and up es350. I have not seen anything like this for the 330...however there are dash kits that would allow you to put in a regular aftermarket double din style radio. They usually have 6-8 inches..or you can get the floating screen like pioneer's i think that can go 9-19 inches.
Pls I need your help, after the installation on mine. Several warning lights was turned on the dash. ABS, CEL, Check VSC, traction control light, master warning light, sometimes brake light will come on and dissappear again. What should I do please? What is the name of the car launcher?

Where does the unit's navigation system get its location bearings? Does this require a constant connection to a smartphone or will it work as a completely standalone system?
you can hook up a 3g dongle or smartphone hotspot. i have a verizon hotspot that plugs in to ob2 port as soon as the car start it almost instantly on wifi. so it will need wifi one way or another.
@@ralph02136 you can but i got a portable Hotspot from Verizon it plugs into the obd port so i dont have to worry about turning on and off Hotspot on my phone...the obd2 Hotspot will turn on when you turn on the car

Yeah it's plug and play...each plug looks different. Mine was basic, no factory nav. So this install was a little more because i had to run wire and install my own backup camera.

If you buy from Phoenix audio, they have kits specifically wired for your car..like yours came with factory navi, backup cam etc. It's gonna be plug and play as long as you select the right options on your car. For me, i had to run my own camera etc because my car was the basic model. For you, as long as you chose the right options, should just plug up.

No..but I did have a problem with check engine light sometimes coming on. I disconnected the OBD2..now I dont have that problem. I just don't get the trajectory lines for backup anymore
@@norbertovargas1931 it moves around pretty quick... sometimes it does glitch but that could be this or my wifi hotspot. Sometimes I'd be listening to Prime Music and it would for no reason kick back out to the main screen and I'd have to go back in again. But really nothing major.

I bought mine at Phoenix Automotive. $635+. It's plug and play..each plug corresponds to a factory plug..there's no splicing or anything. Easier than buying a name brand like Pioneer because for those, you'd need a harness etc. This is all inclusive.
Yes it works..when you begin the ordering process with Phoenix they'll ask you to send pictures of your dashboard..so they can send you the unit you need. In every car there's different trim levels..some of them just buy without getting the right one for their car.
Hello. I bought a 2007 Lexus ES350 last spring. I really love it. I installed a Pioneer double din radio, backup camera, and a universal adapter for the steering wheel control. Everything works except the FM radio. I just can't find the antenna. Do you know where it's located please? I bought a windshield radio antenna on Amazon but that's junk. $40 CAD for this thing and the radio reception is bad. Thanks a lot. I really love your setup by the way. It's amazing.
From what I can remember it's a white plug...your unit should have a hole that says fm or ant...it fits in that hole. Sort of like cig lighter adapter but way way skinnier
@@TRG1719 Hi. Thanks a lot for your answer. Yesterday I called a Lexus dealer and someone told me where the antenna is located. He sent me a schematic. Problem is that the radio antenna was plugged into the amplifier of the car and we removed the amplifer to avoid what I call a "white noise (it's a constant annoying background sound). I ordered and installed a Windshield antenna called "GF-Link Am Fm Hidden Windshield Antenna Vehicle Car Radio Truck" but it's not good at all. Someone told me to get an amplified antenna. Can you please tell me what you did for the antenna? Thanks a lot.
@@8bittimetraveler834 I just plugged the oem antenna to this unit. The plug for the antenna is behind the head unit. It's not in the amplifier in the trunk. It's behind the dash. I just can't remember of it was white or blue
@@TRG1719 Hello. Thanks a lot for your answer. Last night I had a long conversation about this with a friend on Discord. He said we need an AMPLIFIED antenna and we need to plug the other cable in the Blue plug. I also told him about the Tesla radio I saw in your video and how amazing this is. He said it's a great radio but there are 2 problems. 1: he said that the sound quality is not very good (personally I'm not looking for The Ultimate Sound Quality so I don't care about this. As long the quality is good enough). 2: He says that the audio harness for this bad boy costs $1000 lol. I find that hard to believe. No one will pay $1000 just for an harness.
He's probably right about the antenna amplifier..the signal isn't great and sound isn't great either. That said, that's the radio part, which I hardly listen to. But if you listen to digital like spotify etc.. sounds amazing. I also upgraded all my speakers so. 1k harness if false.this is plug and play everything you need is in the box.
I’m facing a loud notification or alarm sound randomly it’s annoying, once I go to the settings and switch off all the setting mute except for media, the issue will return after I switch off the car and turn it back on! means even the setting not saving. anyone can help ?

It's working really good for me. I haven't had any issues. The installation was straight..the plugs match to the factory. No soldering splicing etc. I had a aftermarket unit before this and that install was harder..i had to splice into the factory and even then i couldn't get it the way i wanted..there was alternator noise. Probably grounding. But no such issues with this one at all
For the most part I have no complaints... recently though an engine light started to come on in addition to a couple of other lights vsc off and abs off. It happens intermittent and when you turn off the car it disappears. Nothing changes as far as car or driving behavior and no codes show up on OBD2 reader. This unit is plugged in to obd port so idk if this is causing it or not. Other than that it function great
I'm thinking wether to buy the aftermarket headlights for this with the swoosh led like the new ones or open this and same myself some money and put led strips inside myself

I think they have a specific model that works with oem camera...this one you had to install aftermarket

It works and then some...this unit has alexa and google voice so its even better.

I can...but i have a dedicated wifi hotspot i plug in to ob2. It depends on the phone I guess but mine worked sometimes and it didn't other times. with the dedicated hotspot..i just get in and go. I'm talking about the automated part of the phone...i had it turn on wifi hotspot when blutooth connected, that part was finicky. Of course i could've manually got on my phone and turned on the hotspot but i'm lazy.

They all work...its pretty much plug and play...the plugs in the back match with what's on the car..each plug is a different shape...so you just match it

depending on where you buy it, like i bought mine at phoenix audio..they had a drop down of car trim levels. My car didn't have a factory screen or nav so i got the regular version..i had to hook up my own back up camera. If you already have a screen and backup cam, they have a model for that to make it all plug and play.

its just like an android phone or tablet, you download what you want..google maps etc. it comes with its own navigation but i never tried it..google is better.
it already has wifi so your phone or hotspot will work with it.

I didn't have to make modifications..i did have to plug a connection to the obd2 port. which isn't hard.

Actually no, because this system is a plug and play..its just a matter of matching to the factory harness. I changed to an aftermarket head unit before this one and i had a hard time disconnecting because there was a lot of wiring for that. But if you have factory..it should be easy.

I got it a phoenix auto. They have a model for whatever trim level you have. With or without nav..just choose the right one for you. The radio is crap but i don't listen to that..i do streaming. Climate controls work..everything is touch screen and steering controls work. prices is hovering around 600+

I got mine from phoenix..my car is the basic model..didn't come with backup camera from the factory..i had to put my own camera..it's not hard..just time consuming running the wire from back there to the front.
@0L sKooL ..I doubt it..a lot of them look down on the products..they don't have a lot of experience with this. They certainly won't put any kind of warranty/guarantee on a product like this. They're used to the normal alpine pioneer etc

There was an issue, a check engine light would come on, I still haven't had time to research why. When i unplug the ob2 from the radio to the car, its fine. I do lose my trajectory backup lines when i disconnect

This one is for the o7 and up es350. I have not seen anything like this for the 330...however there are dash kits that would allow you to put in a regular aftermarket double din style radio. They usually have 6-8 inches..or you can get the floating screen like pioneer's i think that can go 9-19 inches.

Where does the unit's navigation system get its location bearings? Does this require a constant connection to a smartphone or will it work as a completely standalone system?
you can hook up a 3g dongle or smartphone hotspot. i have a verizon hotspot that plugs in to ob2 port as soon as the car start it almost instantly on wifi. so it will need wifi one way or another.

Yeah it's plug and play...each plug looks different. Mine was basic, no factory nav. So this install was a little more because i had to run wire and install my own backup camera.

If you buy from Phoenix audio, they have kits specifically wired for your car..like yours came with factory navi, backup cam etc. It's gonna be plug and play as long as you select the right options on your car. For me, i had to run my own camera etc because my car was the basic model. For you, as long as you chose the right options, should just plug up.

@@norbertovargas1931 it moves around pretty quick... sometimes it does glitch but that could be this or my wifi hotspot. Sometimes I'd be listening to Prime Music and it would for no reason kick back out to the main screen and I'd have to go back in again. But really nothing major.

I bought mine at Phoenix Automotive. $635+. It's plug and play..each plug corresponds to a factory plug..there's no splicing or anything. Easier than buying a name brand like Pioneer because for those, you'd need a harness etc. This is all inclusive.

Yes it works..when you begin the ordering process with Phoenix they'll ask you to send pictures of your dashboard..so they can send you the unit you need. In every car there's different trim levels..some of them just buy without getting the right one for their car.

Hello. I bought a 2007 Lexus ES350 last spring. I really love it. I installed a Pioneer double din radio, backup camera, and a universal adapter for the steering wheel control. Everything works except the FM radio. I just can't find the antenna. Do you know where it's located please?
I bought a windshield radio antenna on Amazon but that's junk. $40 CAD for this thing and the radio reception is bad.

From what I can remember it's a white plug...your unit should have a hole that says fm or ant...it fits in that hole. Sort of like cig lighter adapter but way way skinnier

Problem is that the radio antenna was plugged into the amplifier of the car and we removed the amplifer to avoid what I call a "white noise (it's a constant annoying background sound). I ordered and installed a Windshield antenna called "GF-Link Am Fm Hidden Windshield Antenna Vehicle Car Radio Truck" but it's not good at all. Someone told me to get an amplified antenna. Can you please tell me what you did for the antenna? Thanks a lot.
@@8bittimetraveler834 I just plugged the oem antenna to this unit. The plug for the antenna is behind the head unit. It's not in the amplifier in the trunk. It's behind the dash. I just can't remember of it was white or blue
@@TRG1719 Hello. Thanks a lot for your answer. Last night I had a long conversation about this with a friend on Discord. He said we need an AMPLIFIED antenna and we need to plug the other cable in the Blue plug.
I also told him about the Tesla radio I saw in your video and how amazing this is. He said it's a great radio but there are 2 problems. 1: he said that the sound quality is not very good (personally I'm not looking for The Ultimate Sound Quality so I don't care about this. As long the quality is good enough).
2: He says that the audio harness for this bad boy costs $1000 lol. I find that hard to believe. No one will pay $1000 just for an
harness.
He's probably right about the antenna amplifier..the signal isn't great and sound isn't great either. That said, that's the radio part, which I hardly listen to. But if you listen to digital like spotify etc.. sounds amazing. I also upgraded all my speakers so. 1k harness if false.this is plug and play everything you need is in the box.
I’m facing a loud notification or alarm sound randomly it’s annoying, once I go to the settings and switch off all the setting mute except for media, the issue will return after I switch off the car and turn it back on! means even the setting not saving. anyone can help ?

It's working really good for me. I haven't had any issues. The installation was straight..the plugs match to the factory. No soldering splicing etc. I had a aftermarket unit before this and that install was harder..i had to splice into the factory and even then i couldn't get it the way i wanted..there was alternator noise. Probably grounding.
But no such issues with this one at all

For the most part I have no complaints... recently though an engine light started to come on in addition to a couple of other lights vsc off and abs off. It happens intermittent and when you turn off the car it disappears. Nothing changes as far as car or driving behavior and no codes show up on OBD2 reader. This unit is plugged in to obd port so idk if this is causing it or not. Other than that it function great
VSC is a common problem in Lexus, usually an easy fix, drives fine, I just don't like looking at the light
