The socket to fit the axle nuts is the same size as for the hub cap. When installing, inner nut is torqued to 100 ft lbs while turning the hub, to seat the bearings. Then back off to release pre-load torque and hand tighten. Back off 1/8 to 1/4 turn. Install tab washer, then outer nut, torqued to 100 - 175 ft lbs. Also, Dexter says do not jack anywhere on the axles or suspension parts. My trailer has the same axles, oil bath hubs, but with hydraulic brakes.
Pre-tension is only set by first axle not. The second nut only helps lock in lock washer. If first nut is set to original position, then second will be set in its original position.
@@lifeontheroad_ I just put all four on my dexter 10k this past week. $1100 after tax just for brakes. I replaced all bearings with Timken that was another $300. Hood thing I know how to do it my self or I would have been out a crap ton of money. Bad part is after I done it I found the brakes for way cheaper 😭😭🤣
It is definitely a great thing when you can replace/repair your own equipment. Not sure if you using equipment commercially, but if are and according to FMCSA, you may not be qualified to perform a brake service. Keep that in mind. I replace all four brakes on a 14GN. I found a cheap set of brakes. As I was installing brakes, I realized that the brakes were not self-adjusting. That is why the price was cheaper.
I appreciate the video My Boy it helped me a lot
That is why I made most of these videos. Simply to help other people. Thank you.
Great video 👍🏾
What boutique axle seal?
Not sure what you are asking?

I’m having trouble finding the lug nut torque. I have these exact ones in the video
@@rg8282 Lug nut torque for the 10K Dexter axle is 200 ft lbs. It should be stamped on the ring the nuts tighten against
Great content
Thank you.
Long time no see....great video!!!!
I have a couple of YT shorts out there. But Yes Sir, way too long. We have been extremely busy growing the company.
Seems like we both spend our free time under the trailer! Good lawd!
how to replace the nuts
good job
Both nuts have to align with each other? Or it does not matter?

Where did you get seals
I don’t recall. More than likely from Amazon.

Sure wish mine had just slipped right off
Need to close up the adjuster.
What about the seal?
What question are you asking?
