I would add an inline fuse next to the battery connection. If something in your switch setup goes haywire, things are going to get very hot unbelievably fast. I've seen this happen.
Thank you for this video , very helpful. My question is instead of using the switch. why not just grab the magnet and go back and forth to adjust your brakes? and yes I am a beginner at this . getting ready to install my first set of brakes on my camper.
Because the brake drum would be installed precluding your access to the magnet. Their are access holes with a removable rubber grommet on the opposite side of the backing plate adjacent to the adjuster for manually rotating of the star wheel adjuster, if you so desire.
I used a screwdriver and a flashlight to adjust my self adjusting drum brakes. I set each tire the same as I would manual adjusting brakes. You can do it by clicking the lever up or down. You wasted a lot of time to do something that should take a few minutes. It took me longer to raise the wheel than it did adjusting the brake.
They are drum brakes. Just manual adjust to a slight drag. You are making a mountain out of a mole hill. Your burning up the magnet by leaving it on for a per longed time.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. The wiring diagram setup to simulate the brake controller and step by step process is very helpful!

could you accomplish the same adjustment by jacking up the trailer and having someone depress the brake pedal on the tow vehicle?

How would you do that? My problem is keeping that adjustment "tang" out of the way while trying to adjust the adjuster wheel? Two screwdrivers? Thanks
