This bullet has worked well for me for 40+years. Reasonably priced it allows me to shoot more as well.

My Daughter and myself have been using the Hornady American Whitetail 25-06 ammo 117 grain sp for 3 years from 40 yards to 200 yards for NC whitetail deer. So far never lost a deer. All were pass through shots. We are happy with Hornady!

I have a Browning X Bolt Stainless Steel Stalker in .25-06 that loves 117 grain Hornady American Whitetail ammo more than any other!
      I’m super happy too 👍🏼

The Spitzer Hornady SP Interlok performs better on game than any ELDX or Interbond that I have used. Excellent bullet performance.

I cannot compliment the Hornady 150gr SP Interlock American Whitetail factory bullets enough. I use this round in my Sako 85 .308 and at 100m it shoots consistently at half an inch MOA each time. I've tried most other factory rounds, except Sako's, and haven't had anything like the same accuracy. I now won't use anything else! Well done Hornady you score 10 out of 10 and you make rifle shooting easy!!

best bullet company out there in my opinion. I'm a hand loader and exclusively use Hornady SST or interlock bullets when I load.

@Paul that can be said for 99% of lead core bullets..............
      .
if you are shooting faster than the STATED! max velocity for this bullet design..... then look into 100% copper bullets
yes, its hard to change from what works.... but all copper works
      .
especially for bone / ultra high velocities
      .
      .
      .
      .
      personal opinion time.....
if you are hitting a deer with bullets moving 3400+ FPS....... you should probably use less gun
      .
that caliber is CLEARLY designed for long range (besides the exception that proves the rule.... like 223/5.56, which have 3400 FPS, but arnt designed to go much past 350 yards)
      .
either start shooting deer from longer ranges
      or use less gun
      .
      .
ya dont need a 454..... supercharged AND turbocharged..... to drive 3 miles to work
it may be fun.... but its a bit too much motor for just getting you to work and back

      @kainhall 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@maxair5970 even if that was true........ whats the price difference?
      .
and would the deer know the 10% difference?
i dont personally think so.... but ive never been shot so

I've shot hornanday interlocks in 7mm 08 and 30-06 for years. Never have lost a deer with them even when I make the occasional bad shot. The 150 grain interlocks in the 30-06 are extremely accurate and they blow a huge hole for an easy blood trail. But you usually don't have to worry about that lol

    • @nmelkhunter1
      @nmelkhunter1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Do you happen to shoot 139 BTSP interlocks in your 7MM-08? If so, how well do they perform on deer and/or pronghorn. I’m considering switching to these for my 280 Rem since 140 Accubonds are becoming very difficult to find.

Good old 150 grain .30cal flat base soft points shoot to the same POI as the M2 ball projectile in 30/06 when loaded to the same velocities. Kills deer and pigs as good as any bullet made. Great hunting bullet for the Garand if you're cooking up loads to replicate M2 ball.

I handload the 150 Interlock FB. Rifle is a R700 LTR with 20" barrel. This past Saturday, I shot a ~110 pound buck behind the shoulders. Bullet retained 111 grains (~71%), expanded to 0.76" as measured as the widest point, but only penetrated around 12 inches and didn't exit. The deer ran off about 30 yards. Would have really liked an exit wound. Expansion was great, but I would be afraid to shoot this bullet any faster.

Request input: I built a custom Mossberg 243 Win. bedded and floated the action and added a solid laminate (Plywood) stock. It shot Hornady 243 win 100 gr. SPBT the best giving holes touching @100 and quarter size groups @ 200. Does the community think highly enough of the Interlock bullet that it may shoot as well as the SPBT which is not available.

What bullet weight are you using? The official story is that John Nosler developed the Partition bullet after having 180 grain Corelokts fail on close range shots at moose, using a 300WBY. I've gotten good performance out of the same bullets on moose using a 30-06, so yeah... velocity can for sure be a factor. Contrary to popular belief, using the right bullet is generally more critical with magnums than standard rounds.
