    Here’s what the Flat Line reel is for
    The Ultraline Flat Rope Reel makes stern-tying quick and easy! The reel comes in four sizes and includes two rail mounting kits and an ingenious reel/winch handle. Made of 316L stainless steel, the Ultraline Flat Rope Reel provides a compact system to stow line for instant accessibility, whether used for anchor line, stern tying, dinghy towing, jacklines, or whenever extra line is needed quickly. The durable Delrin® reel bearings and Teflon® fairleads ensure smooth, lasting operation. These flat ropes are designed to stretch as loads increase - absorbing hard sudden surges so your cleats don't have to.

    That is a "sea-chest", source of raw water serviceable by removing lid, which is above waterline.

      @HarborPilotYachtTours  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Must be to reduce the intakes under the waterline? Seems like a great idea.

    • @LytStyx
      @LytStyx 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yup! All through hull fittings are serviceable without pulling the boat out of the water. Other than seeing it one time on another make, the sea chest is unique to DeFever.

    Exceptional vessel amazing space for size, Can’t believe the size of engine room. Very clean. Yes the epoxy over the decks, shame, but it doesn’t define this vessel. And yes the Defever inside helm doesn’t have the best visibility, but again the cleanliness and condition inside and out shows a well maintained vessel, very well. Love it, and 2 fridges and freezers, wow. And I left out that upper helm!!!!

    The rectangular box in ER is a seachest, note all the utility RW intakes come off of it (engines probably separate).

      @HarborPilotYachtTours  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nice is that to reduce the amount of intakes in the hull?

    The raised "box" in the engine that you ask about, is called a sea chest. It pulls in sea water and distributes outflow to engine heat exchangers and other equipment requiring seawater cooling. The sea chest eliminates the need for multiple seacock valves and the damages caused when debris gets sucked into the valves. With a sea chest, it is an easy matter to pull the cover and remove the debris without even having to shut off the intake valve.

      Nice should be the standard

    • @anthonybasiliere9366
      @anthonybasiliere9366 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Exactly. Some boats use the chest to pump water on tanks of either side of the boat for ballast as well. Some larger yachts have one chest port and starboard. This is an extremely well designed and built boat that has been meticulously maintained over the years.

    Shawn Rhymes here. I'm enjoying this video and I saw that your videos only go back a couple of months or so. 2 questions; one, were you able to stand upright in the engine room? And 2 the 2 refrigerators, could one of them be a freezer? Aside from the other freezers. I thought the shower was a bit small. Either way thanks for the video.

    • @HarborPilotYachtTours
      @HarborPilotYachtTours  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I remember correctly, I think I could stand up in the engine room and yes that could’ve been a freezer but I’m not sure you can check with the broker if the boat still available. Thanks for watching.

    That decking paint over really takes away from this boat. That would be hard to grind off. Looks like a quick fix the owner did. 😞 But the rest of the boat looks fantastic.

    That wheel at the transom is not a dinghy line, it’s a shore tie reel.

      What is a shore tie for? I was told it was for the dinghy

    • @sandiegowildcat
      @sandiegowildcat 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It is not uncommon to use epoxy or LP on the teak rails. Silly to say this leads to questions about maintenance. That appears to be an exceptionally well maintained 25 year old boat!

    • @ironichumorist
      @ironichumorist 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      i know it is common - particularly among people who do not want to spend the time or money revarnishing teak every year. so they take a shortcut. cosmetically it looks fine but it is a shortcut. hence the question about other maintenance issue that might have had a shortcut. yeah, it LOOKS great. but shortcuts. perhaps its fine. a thorough survey will tell the tale. @@sandiegowildcat

      No way this owner was lazy might’ve had leaks in the deck and just thought this was the best answer probably looked decent when it was done. Just needs a fresh coat or pull off all the teeth and go nonskid. That’s what a lot of people do.

    • @HarborPilotYachtTours
      @HarborPilotYachtTours  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Better question is why do they put so much teak decking on boats just some trim is all you need
