Jake Mathern Most of them probably didn't care. They're happy they got money and that's that, most people in the gaming industry want to keep seperate from the projects they work on, so I doubt they were bummed out, now they're working on a different project.
I don't know where you heard that. Most of the people I know care a lot about the games that they work on, unless they are working on mobile games! (Those tend to be much smaller projects)
But trust me, AAA devs have souls, and the ones i know care a lot about if their game is good. and cancellation is like hell
(ESPECIALLY THE ARTISTS SUFFER. it sucks the most for them because their assets can often not be reused, whereas often code can at least be recycled a bit. it also sucks for them cause they put the most real work into worldbuilding)

Xbox has always had much worse exclusives. The console's really stayed afloat until now because the controllers are amazing. But now, you can use the controller on PC. And get a lot of the exclusives on PC... So they're really digging themselves a hole here.

PS4 has 36 confirmed console exclusives for 2017. Many of those games won't be on PC. X-Box has 5... and they will all be on PC.

That is all opinion. Honestly, I've never heard of Persona, Death Stranding or Days Gone. Uncharted is another Tomb Raider. The Bloodborne series should not be a thing, and From Soft should make another Dark Souls. Nioh seems neat, but I wouldn't buy a PS4 to play it, same goes for God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn. The Last of Us is just another zombie game. All that PS4 fanboy extermination aside, have you fellas over there gotten your Fallout 4/Skyrim SE mods yet? In all seriousness, I wouldn't buy a PS4 for any one of its exclusives, I'm not sure why anyone would buy a PS4 for an exclusive unless they had to have all of the games you listed. Uncharted is far better than the modern tomb raider experience, plus the last of us two will come out and many loved that "game". Bloodbourne was well recieved and was a breath of fresh air from dark souls. Everyone is excited for death stranding because its done by Hideo Kojima.

There’s always the 9th generation for Microsoft Joe. While I absolutely hate that Scalebound was cancelled after Platinum Games painstakingly worked on 4 years running maybe... just maybe. They could revive it for the Xbox Series X in either 2020 or 2021.

I got an Xbox One S for 3 reasons: 4k, Sunset Overdrive, and Scalebound. 4k youtube doesn't work, Scalebound is dead, and Gears 4 was a letdown compared to previous entries..... that's it.... that's all they have to offer. Unless you enjoy Halo of Duty Advance Ops 9, there's no worthwhile xbox exclusives. Pathetic. Thank god I have a ps4 and gaming laptop.

marckery blanchard I don't what it is, Gears 4 just lacked something. The enemy varieties were little. The final boss, while cool in design, was a joke. Now the new characters are great, that's a plus. I don't play multiplayer, so maybe that's what the fuss is about, maybe it improved I dunno...but let's face it the campaign is short, uninspired, offered little new to the series asides the storms, and was a complete letdown storywise. There weren't any oomph moments like Dom finding his wife (or his sacrifice), Cole's fantasy football game, the people frozen in crumbling bodies of ash, the epic assault on the locust home in Gears 2. At the end of Gears 4 my reaction was a slackjaw mouth hanging open asking "that's it? It's over"? I don't get why fans can't admit when a good series releases a ho-hum average game. I'm not saying the game needs to COMPLETELY reinvent itself like God Of War 4 where you can barely tell it's from the same series, but at least give us something different. Nah, I'm just a gaming Nazi n00b, clearly.

Well then...there were two oooph imo, marcus apparent death(really, im not the only one that was seriously thought marcus was dead), the second unbelieveable moment was finding out that girl is somewhat related to the locust queen, this could literally change gears, and i wouldnt call coles fastasy an ooph moment lol, and saying that gears didnt offer anything new is kinda bullshit, they gave us giant kick ass robots, that motor cycle scene was fucking epic, new close combat kills( the same old chainsaw kill was starting to get boring), new weapons such as the drop shot, buzzkill, sick energy weapons, new enemies like juvies, pouncer, robots etc. Sure gears might not have a better story than 2 or 3, but youre crazy if you think gears 4 didnt offer anything new, it did pretty damn good for the start of a new trilogy. nostalgia is hitting you hard as fuck right now.
Thank God I'm a PC and PS4 owner. There is literally nothing out right now that makes the XBoner worth buying.

All I can imagine is that they found out Capcom was working on Monster Hunter World and thought that Scalebound was too similar. (It looks very similar)
Why wasn't Scalebound a Wii U exclusive instead? Think about it: on the TV, you'd control Drew fighting enemies in a typical Action Role-Playing style. On the Gamepad, you'd control Thuban by using the stylus to direct where he goes and command who he attacks. You wouldn't always have had to focus on Thuban though except when if the Gamepad starts vibrating to indicate that Thuban is taking damage so you'd switch back to Drew and help him out. Given that Nintendo was also a Japanese company that had collaborations with them and given the Wii U's overall lack of third-party support, this game would have greatly benefited the console.

Pause.... That is horrible to just release a game even though it will sell poorly, or if it is horrible. No Man's Sky. It was a great year for games last year, but horrible one for exclusives. Especially for Sony. No Man's Sky was trash. Uncharted 4 was the best exclusive they had(one of the best games of the year tbh, but the only real exclusive). Xbox had Forza and Gears(not much better). So both sides kinda did not do that good.

Bloodbourne and the last guardian have no level variety and run like shit. Uncharted peaked with the 2nd one. Last of us had poor guns and stealth. The other 2 arnt even out yet but what i've seen of god of war is nothing like the style of the earlier games.
