Long story short, I broke down & took a vacation without realizing and need to be honest with you guys. We've been at it 8 years and I just don't want to disappoint anyone.
So here is our plan for 2017 and AngryJoeShow 8.0!

Jo I am a long subscriber to Your channel. Not because of amount of videos (game, movie reviews) , "full" reviews with costiumes etc.
NO. I am here because I love what You do and HOW You do it with rest of team. I love Your style, in 90% things that You do/say I am fully behind it. I bought few games (from other types that I originaly didnt play before) after Your good review/opinions. I admire how long and how good all Your work is. I know that pepole would like to have more and more of You in videos. But You have also Your own life, Your own ideas for channel. You see more , where the channel should go, how it should evolve etc.

How about 2 reviews a month, and once every 3 months, make a review based on a vote of your community has of a games list.?
Or set up a poll and take the top 24
the problem with a poll might be games that get pushed forward and cant be reviewed in the time schedule. hell some games might get pushed to 2018, who knows.
He can't review everything unfortunately. At least with a quarterly review, the community can have some involvement in what's chosen to be reviewed. As Joe said, it's a lot of work to put those reviews together in the format that he typically does it. I'd also like to suggest a 'scaled down' review format. Something like no longer than 10 mins, showing a bit of game play, and provide the pros/cons of the game with the AJ rating. That would be better than nothing, in the absence of the 'full-blown' format.

Seeing you two nearly tearing up over the comments hit me pretty hard :( Hang in there joe's! If you need a break to chill out and deal with issues outside of youtube. Then by all means do! "If the creators aren't happy it affects the content, which affects the community." Cause and effect people! But as you said: "Let the community know, that you're taking time off will help ease tension."

Just remember Joe, Most people on youtube have little to no idea, what life is like being a full time youtuber. It's a business! Not a sunday part-time job. Business's need to be looking to expand all the time or they're risk losing the public's interest. You can't just summon a video, like a creature from Skyrim. It takes days of recording and editing. Over and over and over again until it's right. Just like a movie.
Oh! For the depression. I find getting out and about lifts my mood when ever i'm down. Try not to enter your room until your ready to go asleep. Makes sleep so much more peaceful :) Always here for you guys and gals!
Angry Joe, you've gotten me into so many amazing games that I have incredibly fond memories of. I absolutely love both of y'all and I consider it a wonderful blessing when your angry reviews come out; they're my favorite though I do also like your movie reviews. Thank you guys so much and just keep doing what y'all do.

It's not about having permission. Joe can do whatever he wants and post whatever videos he wants, but his audience isn't gonna sit silent while his quality drops and the quantity of videos drops. If he wants to make twitch videos and first impression videos fine, but if he wants to keep his fanbase then he should work to appease them, not himself.

He can do whatever he wants but he has to deal with the consequences of his actions. This is the result of his decisions for the past few months which is why he is making this video in the first place.

He coudl always make less of the Joe plays and trailer reaction videos. If time is such an issue then do less of these filer videos and focus more on your core audience and the main reason they watch your channel. For instance out of his past THIRTY videos, only two of these have been angry video game reviews. If you have no time for angry reviews then try and better alocate the time you have for your endless stream of AngryJoe plays! and Trailer Reactions.

You guys are honestly so amazing. I do mainly watch the reviews on your channel as well tbh and I would be happy to have even like 1 review per month (keeping your unique style of reviewing of course) but honestly guys, you're human. And you have shit to deal with like everyone else; having said that, I think just videos to update the community on even what kinda games you're playing and your initial impressions or plans would be enough.
People like you! Sadly, however, when people on the internet like something, they become entitled to whatever that something is, asking for more and more and more.
It's absolutely amazing that you've reached out to the community despite how shitty the majority of it is and it's very much appreciated and it just goes to show how great you guys are and gives just another reason to stay subscribed.
Best of wishes in the coming year and those of us who like you guys for who you are and the shit that you put out as an extension of your personalities, will continue to back you up no matter what!
To all the people who are impatient: You do realize some are 40 minutes long? First he has to put 20+ hours into one game, then he has to write a script in which he lays out specific details about how he felt and why he feels that way. This includes having to wait to see if OJ has time and waiting for those time slots to film. He has to buy costumes and props. Then he has to film 25-40 minutes of a review which can take days on its own of cuts, redos, and may have to take time in filming to write new or rewrite material. Then he has to edit this 40 minute video. Joe has quality reviews and if you think it can be done in such a short amount of time you have never worked a day in your life.

To all those who think video time is an excuse. People work 8 hours a day. His upload frequency is low unless he is working far fewer hours than he should. This is proven true if you look at other reviewers with just as good quality and an actual decent upload schedule (some of which stream as well).

I never really understood why they stopped making angry reviews in the first place. I remember over the summer he posted a shit ton of movie reviews that had everybody pissed off. Here's what I think you guys should do because you do have to make money off of TH-cam.
Joe, you might want to take a brief hiatus ( however long you guys need) to get really organized and set up some kind of schedule. Also I just wanna address the biggest issue in the room and it's all of the very quick thrown together content that seems to be replacing these angry reviews. Sure it's very convenient to watch on the go or not have to wait as long, but people were drawn in by the way you presented reviews in that angry format. Rapid fire reviews, board games, impressions, trailers, movie reviews, interviews are Ok (I don't really care for them) and if you want to include in this channel, that's your decision, but don't get rid of you main cash cow, your quality content. If the issue is time then you need to consider going on a monthly schedule or bi-weekly schedule. Is it that you guys are not feeling well and are suffering from some sort of depression? I think you guys are overwhelmed and probably need to dial back a bit to make it easier on yourselves at least for a month or so because this is getting serious. Honestly I don't really care what video you put up I'm just interested in seeing reviews of the new games that come out which is what you guys were doing. You've got some channels that aren't even over 1,000,000 subs and are posting about 30+ minute videos ever month or three times a month. I'm also curious to why is it a problem now compared to 6 months ago or a few years ago when you were oozing with content. You need to work with the state you are in not work against it.
I've mentioned this before in an older video of yours, bur have you guys considered adding more review types and gaming content to your channel? You've got Retrospectives, The History of, Rants, and etc. Plus you can review older games and make like 15-20 minute quick videos about older titles and retro titles that you've never even though about reviewing.
You've got these die hard crazed fanboys that are all over your dick and will cuss out and be little anyone who has an opinion or suggestion because they don't give shit what you put up as long as you post a video. The quality content is scarce and it need to be addressed. This channel has some of the worst fanboys that jump on that dick every time a video drops, they post up these sneaky kiss ass comments telling you not to change anything and well look at the state you guys are in, it's fucked up. It's only human nature to get angry when someone criticizes something you love, but these motherfuckers are going to far though.

As someone who has been with the Angry Army for years, this is what I have to say:
Joe and other Joe, we DO NOT expect reviews of literally every single game that comes out. We understand that your Angry Reviews take time, and when multiple AAA games come out at around the same time, it's impossible for you guys to review them all. My recommendation is this: do Angry Reviews for games YOU GUYS want to do Angry Reviews on. As for the other games, give us a Rapid Fire Review, or even a quick gameplay video and tell us your opinion about it at the end. Do Angry Reviews on the BIG games that YOU GUYS care most about, and give us shorter reviews on the others (better to give us some idea, rather than leave us completely in the dark)
And to both of you, ignore the cries and wining of the immature members of the Angry Army. If you guys get sick, or have family issues to take care of, we understand. You guys are people too, we can tolerate delays. HOWEVER, we do NOT accept empty promises. Joe, on multiple occasions, you said you were gonna review a game, but ended up not reviewing it at all (eg. Shadow of Morder, DBZ Xenoverse, etc). The past few years, you have always told us that you plan to do more reviews, but ended up doing a lot less than you promise.
Your Last Guardian let's play video received so many dislikes, because in your previous video you explained you were sick, but now you feel better and you are getting back to work. That is good news, news we wanted to hear. But then almost immediately, you upload a let's play of The Last Guardian, when you should be working on that Final Fantasy Review. To us, this seemed like a betrayal. We are ok with delays due to personal matters, but we are not ok with delays that occur because you want to play another game.
Joe, always remember this, we love and respect you. You are like Alexander the Great and we are your soldiers. We love and support you, but just like the real Alexander the Great, if you don't keep your promises, and push us too far, our loyalty to you will wane, and you will lose us. Stay strong, FOR THE ANGRY ARMY!!!

2016 had way too many releases, for example 40% of all games in steam store were released this year. If you add all the console games it's impossible to keep track even with a huge team.

I'm inclined to agree. I've been a sub for years and years. I'll watch every angry review even for games i know i wont play but I couldn't honestly care less about the other content. those 2 are actually right i have watched pretty much every single angry review and about 30% were pretty much for the fun of watching them, because i already owned the game or knew i wasng going to even try it, but now i see movie reviews... i saw the first ones and i was like: ok this is.... ok i guess. then i see the channel flooded with those adn not the Angry reviews reduced by a HUGE amount, was pretty disappointed, i wont insult you or shit on you because i dont like to be an ass in the safety of the other side of the screen (if im going to be an ass i will be it on your face xD) and i know that being a youtuber with over a million suscribers is not easy, have seen enough people in real life in the brink of suicide becase of their youtube career, but man if you dont give people the very thing for what they suscribed, dont expect them to be happy about lackluster movie reviews

Hey Angry Joe, I have watched your reviews a number of times, especially the mgs5 and witcher 3. I love your content and humor and support whatever direction you go. My 2 cents would be that your game reviews are the only reviews I'll actually re watch for entertainment multiple times. They kick ass and I appreciate the work that goes into them and hope you go in the quality over total content direction. Keep it up man.

Been watching your videos for a long time (only subscribed recently), and I'm so happy to see this one.
I was one of the many who would check your channel from time to time, and be disappointed to see that there were no new reviews to watch. Last year it started to feel like your channel morphed and contained a lot more fluff content, and less review content than usual.
Also, 2 angry reviews per month would be amazing. Might have to head over to Twitch and join you there now, great to see this side of you guys.

I've only been watching your videos since later in 2016 but am so glad I found your channel and awesome review videos. I'm not a TH-cam watcher per see, but am hooked on your videos and have gone back to numerous videos of yours from previous years and they are incredibly done. Please don't let those who feel like posting negative reviews get your down and keep up the excellent work gentlemen and have fun doing it! Do what you love including movie reviews, let's play videos and the like. Like most I prefer the Angry Joe reviews of course, but I'm patient and have plenty of previous year videos in my backlog to watch :)

This channel was around during my middle school days of raywilliamjohnson and stuff like that. You are a relic sir, when I think of TH-cam you come to mind. Its keeps the channel fresh and consistent, while still being able to grow. See how Joe didnt tell anyone how he was taking a 2 month break? That was a bad business mistake, because the fans dont know what is happening and get angry. Also it causes Joe even MORE stress/pressure because people are angry with him.

Don't get me wrong, i watched most of his movie related content, especially those about DCEU because most of it are essentially Angry Rants :) but it kinda sad to see a video game channel can review almost all blockbuster movies this year but missed a lot of video games.
It's not just about getting free funny videos for me, Angry Review is also a way for me to avoid bad investment. For once i ignored him about Killzone: Shadow Fall and payed dearly for it.

I can't speak for others, but your reviews are trustworthy; but i cannot deny this last past year many of your uploads i do not even bother to watch (unless an angry review), i dont know, something felt odd, missing. I know you'll make the choice you think its better for your career, but by changing the chanel's focus you might earn some new viewers, but also lost some others that signed up for your amazing content of yesterdays. A good tactic for Joe is to set realistic expectations and be a bit more conservative with promises for the schedule. This allows you to exceed people's expectations more often and leave more positive impressions to your viewers.

I love the game reviews, even for games I normally have no interest in, the movie reviews and discussions are awesome and hilarious, and the vlogs are great. I don't use twitch but I'm sure that stuff is just as good. Do what you want to do, put out the content you want to make, and screw what people think.

Well Joe "doing what he wants with the channel" for the past couple of months, has really downfalled the channel. The video quality, the negative comments and half dislike bars, happen for a reason. I doubt Joe enjoys making content has he is now, seeing the negative impact on each video, hence why he needs to change up his act and start giving the viewers what they want. When you have a large viewership, it doesn't become as easy as "post what you want" but more of a balance of both sides.

i'm sure most people don't have a problem being patient for a week or 2 for a review to come out, but the way he handled these last several months especially go waaay beyond patience. he went in with no plan, got overwhelmed like 2 weeks into the busy season and basically threw his hands up and gave up
Joe, people don't want you to tear out the comedy sketches from your review. They want your angry reviews to be the priority, and at least at face value it's hard to see that when there are 10+ "filler" uploads between those reviews. When I look back through your video log I see maybe 3-5 videos in between every review. The problem a lot of people have is that it feels like your quality content is taking a backseat to the quicker thrown together content. Also with things like the FF15 and Last Guardian videos, people wanted reviews of those games. So when you throw out the quick lets play videos it disappoints people.
I love your content, and have since I subscribed like 4 years ago. But people just don't want to see your A+ material get lost on the back burner in favor of your movie reviews and trailer reactions.

MrStreager, I understand where you are coming from. I however enjoy some of the filler content and movie reviews. I'm not suggesting Joe sync all of his time in the filler content but it is nice to have additional content along with the great Angry Reviews. It might be time for the Joes to bring in even more help. It seems the demand for the show is rising greatly and that's a lot of stress to put on a small crew.
Looking back at this now, Joe really did turn his channel around. Joe is killing it this year.

The skits are an extension of how you feel about the game. Without them you lose the identity of what you feel is both a game's strengths and weaknesses. Creativity takes time. We as the audience tend to forget that.

Joe just keep doing the reviews the way you always have done them in the past I like that style and always have. Here is my thought, if you do something new you might become boring as I have noticed with other youtubers that I watched, they got boring because they rushed their videos to get them out everyday or to please the new fans. I say Joe that you should listen to the dedicated fans like me who have been around for years. I want comedy reviews as you have always done and I would like for you to go back to doing comedy reviews with movies as well. Joe I saw make one month about movies to give yourself time to finish the games you are playing. Once you fish the game then work on making the comedy review for it and only upload it when you feel like it is good and ready to go. Joe just take your time with your videos, I like your older videos the best because to me I saw the passion you had for movies and video games because you took your time. I say Joe just play one game a month for reviews only and other games just for your Twitch channel that are not that important to you but are just to pass the time as you let everyone know that you are working on your game and movie review for the month. Just review one game and maybe 2 movies for the month and just do them the way you used to do them back in 2009 and 2010 when I first started watching your videos. I love it when you take your time on your videos it shows that you care about your videos and I saw that when you used to do that. People today are being jerks and want reviews every day but it is too hard making a video takes time and people need to understand that. If people made their own videos they would know what it is like to make a video. If you rush your videos then they will start to suck and I kind of noticed that. But I still see you like making videos and you care about them so that is why I come back once a week to see what new videos you have uploaded. Joe just listen to me a true fan and take your time.

With more than 2.6 million subs, the number of strictly negative people is going to increase. My comment was to get him to see that while taking the feedback, to not let it tear him apart. I work in film. I do on average a 70 hour week. I have no interest in being a TH-camr, but I do have certain expectations of the people I give my time to.

Personally I just don't care about movie reviews. I don't care about let's plays. I came for the game reviews and I stayed for them because you do them in a well thought out and creative way that's more than just "I did/didn't like this game." Those have become more and more infrequent and I really miss them.
I'm sure his content has varied largely because he probably hates pumping out similar videos over and over again.
Lack of variety tends to make creative people go fucking bonkers.

Joe, my brother introduced me to your channel back in '08. You are one of my favorite channels. I have never demanded anything in a expected amount of time, reviews or let's plays. I love the majority of your content. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. You guys do the best you can as far as a 2 man crew, and Del. No one should ever feel depressed under any circumstance. You can't do 10 different things at once. Don't scatter yourself. No separation. Do what you love and treat the fans with fair amount. And family is first, too. It's always about balance. Careful and organized planning is all that's really needed. Thanks for all the content over the years.
I sometimes don't like the games but I put that in the back of my mind because I know all you guys bust your ass for us and I am forever grateful that when I'm upset I can turn on one of your classic angry rants and it helps.
