Update 1: the Xbox One actually only sold 3 million consoles to consumers, while 2 million were to stores. Update 2: the Ps4 has now sold 13.5 million consoles with the Xbox One sitting at around 7 million consoles. Still a 2:1 ratio. Also, the Wii U has sold 7 million consoles, so another way of looking at it is the Ps4 has sold as many consoles as Xbox One and Wii U combined. Update 3: the Ps4 has now sold 18.5 million consoles! News regarding the Xbox One sales is fuck all, probably out of embarrassment. My guess is that the ratio is still 2:1.

Coming back to this over a year later and being reminded how Microsoft completely screwed us over. It brings my anger back knowing that Microsoft actually had the nerve to try and take our freedom of sharing games with our friends etc. WTF were they thinking, did they brainstorm bullshit when designing it? I actually bought an Xbox One and it had SO many issues, the 'friends list' pretty much involved me having to open the physical hardware to find it (not literally). My controller wouldn't connect to my console if I had my mic plugged in, stupid things like that. I traded my XB1 in for a PS4 and I never looked back.

I love returning to this video to remember how evil Microsoft is at its core. I’m convinced this reveal was a large scale social experiment, designed to test how people would react to all the proposed Xbox limitations. The people fought back and Microsoft was forced to backtrack. An almost identical scenario was repeated 4 years later in 2017 with EA’s Battlefront 2 and the borderline criminal micro-gambling system they implemented. Once again, gamers united as one and told EA to fuck off. These poisonous corporate inspired schemes are a recurring pattern I’ve noticed and it’s important that we be mindful. These companies will never stop trying to force new systems and rules which limit your freedom as a gamer. Companies like Microsoft and EA want to shift the industry into a different direction which means less freedom and fun for gamers and more money for them. They want to squeeze you so tight into a corner that you’ll end up paying a fee just to turn on your console. They will keep trying to make such fees and limitations normal, hoping that people give in. I say fuck them. It’s been 5 years since the Xbone released and I haven’t given a cent to Microsoft. I’m so glad Sony’s PlayStation 4 crushed the Xbox One into dust with double the sales and this is coming from a 360 fanboy.
As of January 2019, Sony has sold over 92 million PS4 consoles. Meanwhile, as of 2015, Microsoft has hidden the Xbox One sales figures from the public due to what a colossal failure it is. It's estimated that a pathetic 40 million Xbones have been sold. Jessica Messica The Jaguar actually wasn't a 64 bit console. That was a fabrication based on various facts about the hardware. It basically came down to the fact that it had two 32 bit processors. However, math doesn't apply to this case. You can't add two processors together and call the result a 64 bit console, but for marketing purposes that's exactly what they did. One processor handled video, the other handled sound. But it couldn't handle true 64 bit visuals. That and its terrible game library is why it died.

The point is that people should be able to have the option to play games offline right out of the box as what the PS4, PC, and Wii U did for their reveal. The keyword here is option, which means you can also do the alternative as well. all ive played through the years was the original (2001) xbox and xb360 & loved them and was totally satisfied with them, i was content with the ms consoles and didnt see no need to even bother with playstation, i never gave any ps console a chance (excluding the ps2 that i would rarely play here and there) until the ps4, I have both the ps4 and xb1 consoles luckily, and in preference I like the ps4 more and i think itll last longer than the xb1, I know i'll never look at xbox the same way again considering the extremely appalling bullshit micro$oft tried to pull with their once beloved console. To be fair there are some good games on consoles though, especially on Nintendo's consoles in my opinion but also on Playstation. Upscaling and native 4K aren't the same. Native 4K will look much better than a 1080p image stretched to fit 4K. I assume you're gonna buy the Slim and the Xbox Scorpio? And you said in a previous comment 'No point wasting money on PC'? Pretty contradictory, really. With that money you could build a PC that will play your games at 4K, use your controller and sit on the couch infront of your TV, whilst also enjoying the benefits of not having to pay for Xbox Live, and, y'know, having a PC.

Coming back to this over a year later and being reminded how Microsoft completely screwed us over. It brings my anger back knowing that Microsoft actually had the nerve to try and take our freedom of sharing games with our friends etc. WTF were they thinking, did they brainstorm bullshit when designing it? I actually bought an Xbox One and it had SO many issues, the 'friends list' pretty much involved me having to open the physical hardware to find it (not literally). My controller wouldn't connect to my console if I had my mic plugged in, stupid things like that. I traded my XB1 in for a PS4 and I never looked back.

I love returning to this video to remember how evil Microsoft is at its core. I’m convinced this reveal was a large scale social experiment, designed to test how people would react to all the proposed Xbox limitations. The people fought back and Microsoft was forced to backtrack.
An almost identical scenario was repeated 4 years later in 2017 with EA’s Battlefront 2 and the borderline criminal micro-gambling system they implemented. Once again, gamers united as one and told EA to fuck off.
These poisonous corporate inspired schemes are a recurring pattern I’ve noticed and it’s important that we be mindful. These companies will never stop trying to force new systems and rules which limit your freedom as a gamer. Companies like Microsoft and EA want to shift the industry into a different direction which means less freedom and fun for gamers and more money for them. They want to squeeze you so tight into a corner that you’ll end up paying a fee just to turn on your console.
They will keep trying to make such fees and limitations normal, hoping that people give in. I say fuck them. It’s been 5 years since the Xbone released and I haven’t given a cent to Microsoft.
I’m so glad Sony’s PlayStation 4 crushed the Xbox One into dust with double the sales and this is coming from a 360 fanboy.
As of January 2019, Sony has sold over 92 million PS4 consoles. Meanwhile, as of 2015, Microsoft has hidden the Xbox One sales figures from the public due to what a colossal failure it is. It's estimated that a pathetic 40 million Xbones have been sold.
Maybe next time, Microsoft won't launch a 'TV accessory' to compete with consoles, in addition to 'No internet = No gaming DRM', no backwards compatibility and used games fees. Suck shit Microsoft/Xbox.

As if the PS4 Pro being less powerful than Xbox One X is even a thing. Xbox One X came out after PS4 Pro, it's supposed to be more powerful.

The Jaguar actually wasn't a 64 bit console. That was a fabrication based on various facts about the hardware. It basically came down to the fact that it had two 32 bit processors. However, math doesn't apply to this case. You can't add two processors together and call the result a 64 bit console, but for marketing purposes that's exactly what they did. One processor handled video, the other handled sound. But it couldn't handle true 64 bit visuals. That and its terrible game library is why it died.

The point is that people should be able to have the option to play games offline right out of the box as what the PS4, PC, and Wii U did for their reveal. The keyword here is option, which means you can also do the alternative as well. It wasn't an overreaction at all because unless you play online with other friends, a mandatory online connection is not needed in order to simply to put a disk and just play the game.

all ive played through the years was the original (2001) xbox and xb360 & loved them and was totally satisfied with them, i was content with the ms consoles and didnt see no need to even bother with playstation, i never gave any ps console a chance (excluding the ps2 that i would rarely play here and there) until the ps4, I have both the ps4 and xb1 consoles luckily, and in preference I like the ps4 more and i think itll last longer than the xb1, I know i'll never look at xbox the same way again considering the extremely appalling bullshit micro$oft tried to pull with their once beloved console. If theyd do it once, theyll definitely do it again once the opportunity of money presents itself over the gamers. smh.
