I saw your video a couple of days ago. I have a 2008 VW Transporter 2.5tdi. I followed your advise and what a difference. I had my cat removed as well. No more ruff idle in the morning, no more turbo lag under 2000rpm and better fuel consumption.
great vid got volkswagen touran 2.0 tdi sport kept going in to limp mode all garages kept telling me it my turbo common prob done this few weeks back since then no limp mode no engine management light car ideals with out judering car seem to pic up alot faster seems to have work for me cheap fix nice one
Did you not read the description ***** . The EGR delete on the R5 with the vacuum system does NOT throw a CEL or log any codes on VCDS/VagCom. The EGR is not active at idle when the car is up to operating temperature so it won't fail MOT. Besides, this a DIY for those who want to do it. The repercussions thereof are their own. Please do not comment if you aren't sure of your facts! This is on my own touareg of which I have swapped the engine. I know this engine better than most. PS : What do you think are the repercussions of having EGR block up your intake manifold starving the engine of air and inevitably causing you to buy a brand new car? What's the carbon footprint of that?
To delete EGR valve is it enough to block the EGR hose ?? or also must get into the car’s computer and desactivate it from the car’s computer also ?? And also would be good idea if remove the throttle body and make the hose straight connect to engine without any throttle body in between !??
Hi Marius, great video.. I wondered If after a year later you noticed any negative effects? Is it important to cap off the EGR valve as well as block the pipe with a bolt? Could not capping the valve damage the turbo?
You can either just pull the vacuum pipe off and block it. Or you can install a blanking plate. I did both as I don't want the crud in the valve that stayed behind to get ingested. I have had no ill effects other than the car takes an extra 1-2km to reach operating temp. My car is running super clean and efficient. See this thread - 4x4community.co.za/forum/showthread.php?t=184572
Marius Fourie Thank Marius. Just read through that forum and theres some great stuff on there,, However in one post it says you leave you EGR valve on and just clean it often? Did you have a change of heart?
pullenjon Yes, I did have a change of heart but I have had a change of heart again. Im currently running without it and have done so for about 20'000km.
What made you change your mind.. and then again out of interest? Ive just blocked mine off today. Doing some heavy towing tomorrow so Ill see how shes goes.
Hello, thank you for this very old video. İs it safe to just block the vacuum hose and not installing a blanking gasket? Will the hot gas melt the valve and the thin egr pipe? Thanks a lot!
Excellent info Marius. I'm probably buying an 06 R5 this week coming week. Will for sure be doing this on it. What other benefits are there apart from a much cleaner intake?
Yes I have power lost in gear 2, will this work for me? Should I check the injector? My fitter advised not to blank the EGR, if garantee is given I really want to try it. Please advise...
I noticed today a strange sound on the turbo side (passenger side not drivers) ; like a strong whistle (the car is performing as before). In the N gear I have to give throttle to 2000rpm and then agressively to 5000rpm to listen it. then when 1st 2nd gear I listen it when I accelarate in low rpm 1500-2000 also agressively. What could it be. I made a video but dont know how to post it. :(
Hi I have the same problem and I fell that is no power like before. if I take hose from the solenoid beside turbo in N gear that sound gone. I think the problem is solenoid but not sure... if find problem let me know. thanks
Great help Marius, I been having a severe problem with this issue. Car did not even start and it was nearly prone of abusive dealers trying to make it look the problem was elsewhere. Once I realized the truth I am constantly cleaning it but is getting dirty very often. Now when it happens I have to get out of the car and move manually the lever and then it starts normally. You are of a great help with this video but please tell me if this increases the fuel consumption and/or reduces the engine power? Where is all that dirt going?
Just found out this video and your comment. I have the same car and one of the main problems it has is the starting. Whenever I drove it somewhere, turned it off and tried to start it again after it got cooled - it didn't start. Went to 3 different local mechanics and they told me the problem could be the turbo or the injectors. Changed the turbo, still have the starting problem. Now I don't want to go to a mechanic to fix the injectors and leave with the problem still persistent in the car. Now I see this video and I think it might be the problem with the EGR. I will definetly check this on my car later. @xhexhi do you still have this car? did you fix the problem? My diesel Touareg R5 has 350.000 km.
Only the quick puff when booting the throttle. Which is normal with almost any diesel of that era. Only the DPF equipped models won't give a puff of black smoke. If you have constant black smoke, you are overfuelling and have an issue. Blanking the egr won't be the cause of black smoke. If you blanked it badly, boost may be leaking and hence overfuelling = black smoke.
You only need to code the ecu if the egr valve is electronic. If the valve is vacuum operated like in the video you can just follow the video instructions. I have been running this mod for months without any issues.

I done this a last year to ours and is worth doing. I done it with a blanking plate between the flange and nobody would know.
Браво! И получаешь при нажатии на газ пинок. Убирать нужно прошивкой.

Yes very useful thanks from Germany

excellent.thanks Marius.
Well done, but I have a question. What did you use to clean the intake? Its just so shiny
Super 👍👍💪
Can you write where?
where and how many places
which thread your recording shows tells you where

Mate great video and will it go perfect for 2006 2.5 TDI (touareg)?
Hi is it safe for engine and turbo , as I'm new in that's things .So don't know if is worth it .And what that means that you change heart ? Thanks
Hi Maruis.. i just bought one 2005 model.... it is dead under 2000 rpm.... could this be the problem?
Hi, thank you for the video, this is very helpful. Can I do the same on my 2012 V6 Toureg?
Hi I have the same problem and I fell that is no power like before. if I take hose from the solenoid beside turbo in N gear that sound gone. I think the problem is solenoid but not sure... if find problem let me know. thanks

If you blank the EGR valve the dirt is now going out the exhaust. No negative side effects at all. Best thing I ever did to my car.

@@reloaderv3282I Think that you have a problem with rubber seals of injectors.
@@reloaderv3282 you should also get it on diagnostics.
Could very well be the cam-position sensor. But egr delete is great to keep intake clean
@Firas Tkaya I didn't fix it. Sold it for dirt cheap. This car engine (the R5) is straight up junk metal.
Marius, are you getting any blacks smoke after it??

Do you think i should blank my EGR too i have 2.5 tdi touareg 2004
Yes, definitely. If you leave it the intake will clog up. Double check it's legal to do so in your area.
Hello, where do you blank the egr?
The video is self explanatory
I am searching for info in blanking off the 3.0 TDi V6
Doese it get more power this way?
no
Will it work on a V10 ?
on the early models, yes
Like 2005?
+Ramu7789 - yes possibly. If you have the vacuum operated EGR valve you can just pull the vacuum hose and blank it.
i saw your video but do you know how to do with electrique valve on 2,5 touareg ? THANKS
Unfortunately not. Sorry.
Kann mir jemand auf deutsch erklären was Nützt das?
Es soll die AGR verbieten, die Schmutz in den Ansaugtrakt bringt
that will not work....u must do it in the ECU to.
You only need to code the ecu if the egr valve is electronic. If the valve is vacuum operated like in the video you can just follow the video instructions. I have been running this mod for months without any issues.
this car and in my country is
