emotions ─ the growls music box ─ the richness / fullness music box tour ─ the creativity daydream / daydream tour ─ the BELTS (ex. london !!) butterfly ─ the rasp
93 and 95, my lord the control was out of this world. Everything was so effortless, it’s like she knew exactly what was going to come out of her mouth at any given moment
In a sense butterfly tone fits this song the most because of the rasp which gave more meaning to the song since it became more soulful however daydreams ease was amazing for this song.
1993 - 1996 definitely is the best era for this song. She could easily interact with the fans without struggling with the high notes. Meanwhile, the Butterfly era one sounded really hurt, it likes she was damaging her voice unintentionally with those notes.
1996 / Rotterdam Ahoy performance left me GOOPED- I still don't get how she got her voice to sound so light and girly yet powerful that year...and the agility and resonance was insane !!! its different compared to 1995 vocals even...It would've been interesting if we got an album with this sound, I know most people would point to Butterfly but even to me the vocals on Butterfly are still different then what she was performing live the majority of 1996. Her voice will forever have me in awe and I love how it always changes heh.
I hope one day she speaks openly about her different approaches to singing in these years and how she got them to sound the way they did and her reasonings as to why she kept changing it up :D
Proctors and MSG>>>> Love the fullness and resonance on E5 from proctor and MSG has the most perfect F#5’s! Overall I feel like 95’ fully transformed the studio and fleshed it out more
1998, Beacon's Theater. I don't care for the others as I don't care for light, youthful, girly voices, and Mariah sounded like a girl trying to sound like a grown woman in those earlier performances. She came into her own vocally during the Butterfly era (although Emotions is my favorite album of hers; severely underrated).
Mariah’s voice was the most healthy in 1995/1996.
But if we talk about balance between her registers, Music Box era is winner😌
Hahaha healthy
@@debutriah2854 Ikr... Haha
@@SomewhereOnTheOutside I always laugh whenever I hear that
@@debutriah2854 Same LOL.

Daydream had the most impressive performances but Emotionriah and Butterflyriah sounded the most soulful
emotions ─ the growls
music box ─ the richness / fullness
music box tour ─ the creativity
daydream / daydream tour ─ the BELTS (ex. london !!)
butterfly ─ the rasp
ex as in except? or example?
@@solteudoongie4519 Example absolutely, the best version vocally, with MSG 1995
MTV Unplugged is quite underrated and is one of my favorite performances. ❤️
And keep in mind that she performed that song for the first time ever.
93 and 95, my lord the control was out of this world. Everything was so effortless, it’s like she knew exactly what was going to come out of her mouth at any given moment
My favs:
-1993
-1995
Had the best tones, pitch, and easiest effortlessly notes, most ad-libs.
In a sense butterfly tone fits this song the most because of the rasp which gave more meaning to the song since it became more soulful however daydreams ease was amazing for this song.
i’d say butterfly is behind emotions cause emotions has the growls
The real winner is not here she’s a few years ahead😏
2003 says hello 💅🏼💅🏼💅🏼
2003 🔥

I love this video but I missed Sydney '98, the F#5 at the end is SO good.
I agree
Make it Happen is one of her songs that sound good in any vocal condition she’s in.
as much as i love 1995 and 1998, there's something about proctor's theater that just beats all the rest
Agreed. I really love the part where she exchanges the same bridge with the choir, as if she, as an army of one, effortlessly stood up to a battalion.
Daydream was out of this world with all the F#5s!!! I loved butterfly too, the tone was so nice ❤
Her tone is a god sent gift.. one in a million.
1993 - 1996 definitely is the best era for this song. She could easily interact with the fans without struggling with the high notes. Meanwhile, the Butterfly era one sounded really hurt, it likes she was damaging her voice unintentionally with those notes.
1998 is my fav 💖 the soul..
but music box and daydream eras take 2nd and 3rd
my favorite song 😭✨
🤍
I gotta go with the Butterly era for the rasp and soul that made the song more emotive and powerful!
Sorry guys but Proctor Theatre is unmatched
I. WILL. FOREVER. LOVE. HER. VOICE. THE. ARRANGEMENTS. AND. THE. BAND. AT. PROCTOR'S. THEATRE. ❤❤❤❤
la '93 for creativity (& ad-libs)

IMO it’s butterfly cause the rasp adds soul and emotion really emoting the lyrics

3:50 i sympathize with her
all those high belts with that placement. it was too high for her 😭😭 no wonder her voice got worn out
ok but butterfly ıs the most churchy one. she is the one taking us to church.
2005 GMA while promoting the emancipation of Mimi album
Rotterdam. Her voice was soaring up there.
Daydream for sure!
