She was mainly pulling chest voice and she was barely reaching any mixed voice. It sounds chesty in Italy and the public started seeing her struggle with her songs from this time onwards. She’s had recoveries throughout the years but can’t deny the voice was never the same. And no… it wasn’t just age, it was bad singing technique. She started struggling with her voice from 1997 onwards. she was 27, 28… really young to have this drastic lack of access to her mixed voice.

It should appear obvious to everyone that her story about being “born with them” has no logic/biological validity, she probably got them around that age because of excessive singing and some other kind of abuse (alcohol and stuff), not necessarily because of bad singing since there’s singers with no proper technique that have been singing for 20+ years

I wouldn’t say the technique was bad, I would say she overused her voice during 1996-98, which doesn’t help the fact she already had nodules and was going through a very ugly separation and divorce during that time period. High stress and overuse will quickly degrade the voice, regardless of technique. But her voice was definitely never the same after that regardless.
It's like she discovered her mix around charmbracelet era but never could use it live. Seems she had trouble with the placement and it was more convenient to pull chest
