- This time I show you how to install Skyjacker Black Max shocks. These are a massive improvement in the way my ford excursion rides, taking most of the jarring out of the road. I show you how to install the bushings and sleeve and exactly what tools are needed for this easy DIY install.

How old/how many miles did you have on the bilsteins?
They had about 100k on them, we’re not blown out just stiff.
How are they with towing?
Feel good with the boat😎
How is the towing with them?
The extra “give” in them still smooths it out nice with a trailer. But they aren’t as stiff as others. I don’t have bags and don’t mind a smoother towing experience
Will towing my boat with my new to me 2000 v10
Ya that's the biggest thing mine tows currently 21ft fiberglass. feels great.
24.5 fiber on mine @@Geeks4x4
Nice
It’s only showing the one model for my truck
Does this mean they are all the same all around
02 Limited 6.8
Interesting. The front shocks are different than the rears, maybe change the motor to diesel and see if that changes it? Or the year might be better, valving is probably different for the weight of the diesel
I have a 02 limited diesel and love it but hate the ride as you did. I don't have a lift kit but do have air shocks in the rear. Which black max should I order? Are fronts alone worth replacing and leave my rears alone? Thanks
Do you use the rear air shocks to help with loads? If you’re not ever changing air pressure I’d sure think about just swapping them all. Go on skyjackers site and put in the truck to their vehicle finder, it will show you all the shock options. These are the shocks for 0-3 inches of lift.
Thank you!
No worries, I'm betting you'll feel a significant difference between these and an air shock in the rear... These should control the truck much better.
I talked with Skyjacker today and they thought gas filled Nitros were a better fit for such a heavy truck. Thoughts?
@@paulcoy7292 so far I am still liking my black max’s on both trucks. The ADX is a better shock tho. It should last longer and might be even smoother. I like the little float this gives my white ex, and bob will probably get ADX’s when I have the suspension where I am happy with travel.
whats up geeks!!
What’s up buddy!
skyjacker tho????
100% way better riding shock then I had before
them front leafs look non arched like mine -_-
Their ats v codes but ya… the 7.3 is beating them up
