    Hey Andy, first off... beautiful pictures/angles/framing, probably one of the best non super fancy videos out there, using the camera outside also.Reallyyy wishing you would have gone into 4k24/30( w,e the camera does there lol ) or even 6ofps and seeing how much record time that would show.
    Thanks again.

    • @AndyFeliciotti
      @AndyFeliciotti  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Pedro! Thank you so much appreciate the kind words. I can comment a little bit about the heating more, the normal 4k24/30 has no heat restrictions (besides the 29:59 time limit) so even if the camera is fully overheated you can film in that mode. 4k60fps will be limited by heat, I should have shown how much time I had left at the end of that video, I would guess around 15 min, I will make another video in the coming weeks that is similar that covers that and I'll go over all of the remaining times after an hour of shooting like I did here 😁.

    • @snphotonparts
      @snphotonparts 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AndyFeliciotti You are the man!! I shall subscribed. I'm a sports photographer , mostly cars ( drag/drift /autocross) and im yet to see someone push the camera the way I do in that environment and more over, switching to video, as I have seen people do that or at least tried and wont be able to, but again, could be user mistake, don't mind if I Could even get 30fps, but if the camera over heats while I shoot 2-3k pictures out there, then that may be an issue for me, although... My 1dx might have gotten a bit hot as well, but also let me to think it could be a CF card issue.

    • @AndyFeliciotti
      @AndyFeliciotti  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@snphotonparts No problem and thank you for the sub!! appreciate that! I should note that there is a '4k HQ' mode that is higher quality that has heat restrictions but yeah the normal 4k24/30 has no issues to my knowledge. I will be doing some longer shoots and seeing it I can get locked out of it but I don't think it's designed to. And yeah I don't mind a warm camera as long as iit doesn't lock me out of the good features! I am curious if there will be a firmware update that brings out some improvements to this.

    loved your vids! I'm also a local!! I've only been to DC a couple of times and I need to get out there more, but do you have any suggestions on parking? like time of day, do the prices vary? Other than the capital area, what other places would you suggest someone to check out?
    I've been down by the Washington monument and George Town. Unfortunately I didn't make it to the capital building when I was down there.Next time i think I'm going to map out where I want to go

      Parking is pretty easy typically, just look for the free spots, the mall does have a lot of park mobile spots which you can use the app to pay for and it’s cheap.
      Here are my favorite DC photo spots: ihitthebutton.com/washington-dc-instagram-spots/

    did you do any noise reduction in post? The lack of noise and sharpness in that light is nuts. Also, how is the rolling shutter with video? thx

    • @AndyFeliciotti
      @AndyFeliciotti  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think for the R5 footage I only added sharpness and tweaked colors, the GoPro footage is noise reduced though. Haven’t tested rolling shutter much!

      Yes, and it has focus assist which is even better.

    Thank you so much for this video. I really want to invest in an R5 but am really concerned about the overheating issue. I'm not a professional videographer and wouldn't be using it in a professional setting, but it still concerns me. Perhaps it would still be worth it regardless...

    @Andy ,Do you think or experienced heating while shooting photo only? I primarily shoot still and wondering if whole day stills only can cause overheating and shutdown of camera.

    • @AndyFeliciotti
      @AndyFeliciotti  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      To my knowledge the heat will never shut down the camera, you can always shoot photos and you can always shoot 4k24/30fps, it just locks you out of 8k and high frame rate 4k.

    the photos taken have benefited from a filter assembly ?

    How's the low light and the dynamic range?

    • @AndyFeliciotti
      @AndyFeliciotti  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly I don't think I am qualified to answer that but I think it's slightly better than the R (based on what reviewers say)

      @MikedieONE 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      dynamic range is really good on the R5.
      You can check DR chart on www.photonstophotos.net/Charts/PDR.htm
      its on d850/A7RIV level now.

      Meh, this is a photo first camera, and it still has better video modes than its closest competitor the A7RIV (which overheats in basic 4K30 and has no 60, 120 let alone 8K options).
      Unlimited 4K 60/120 or 8K would be nice, but it's 2020 and no other camera can do what this one can right now. And file sizes in those modes are far more prohibitive than heat. There is no "issue" as far as I'm concerned. Such a great camera!
