    Hi Andy, great video but I'm still struggling and need to know how to setup the camera ISO when not shooting video in CLOG. I am constantly riding the ISO for video when shooting different shots and sometimes get overexposed/underexposed. I appreciate any help!

  • @JoshMoore424
    @JoshMoore424 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Andy- thanks for keeping this so clean and simple. Bought the R7 creator kit for my wife (we are novice videographers but expert marketers😊) and I’m not getting the results with the kit lens I hoped for. Should be easy but confused with so many options. She literally sits at her desk like you in this video and records course videos etc. Tripod mounted- excellent lighting (we have full Elgato key light setup including the control pad. Is there a better lens that we should be using in your opinion? It’s mostly the crop we are challenged with. Her office is a converted bedroom and I’m needing to set tripod a country like away to get her torso.

    • @AndyFeliciotti
      @AndyFeliciotti  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Josh, I would consider the Canon RF 16mm pancake lens for this setup (which will be wider than the kit lens). It's F/2.8 so it'll bring more light in and be around a 24mm equivalent so it should work decently for the small space. Plus it's a good price! What specifically are you having issues with the kit lens? are you all using manual settings? could just be auto making weird results.

    • @JoshMoore424
      @JoshMoore424 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AndyFeliciotti thanks! No, we seem to be in good shape with the video itself - it’s just the crop that’s we haven’t been able to overcome. We are messing with it this weekend and will report back results. I really appreciate the speedy reply!

    • @AndyFeliciotti
      @AndyFeliciotti  ปีที่แล้ว

      In that case the 16mm may be perfect for the use! I haven't gotten my hands on that lens but seems like it'd be a good fit.

    • @rayl801
      @rayl801 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You may want to consider getting the new RF-S 10 -18mm kit lens. I just got it and it's very small and not too expensive ($329). It's equivalent field of view to the 16-29mm on a full frame sensor.

    • @EndSimulation
      @EndSimulation 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rayl801 Second this comment.. the RF 10-18 is awesome for wide angle and super easy to get full field of view in a small space

    Is your camera connected to a dedicated monitor? I have tried without succes to use an Android phone as a monitor, no matter what settings I use it doesn't show. I have even tried every available app. Luckily I connect using the wifi settings and it works great.

    • @AndyFeliciotti

      I haven't tried it but using HDMI shouldn't be an issue for doing this.

    Question: what shooting mode the camera has to be to do video configuration?

    • @AndyFeliciotti

    What if your streaming church services? What do you recommend for as set up and settings on the camera? Btw, BH photo is AWSOME their shipping is so dominant man which is why I keep buying things from them they have everything!!

    • @AndyFeliciotti
      @AndyFeliciotti  ปีที่แล้ว

      Specific to this camera? I think this paired with the RF-S 18-150mm would give you a good range for services. If you are specifically only using a camera for services though I would probably recommend researching PTZ cameras so you can control the show via a computer instead of manually zooming in/out. There are some newer affordable ones from Canon.
      B&H rules! It does blow my mind how fast they ship stuff.

    I hate these how-to that just discard JPEG as if it was plague. I use both JPEG and RAW. Of course RAW is better to recover shadows, highlights and manipulate colours. There is time I want to do that. But often time RAW is just adding a lot of work while the JPEG is actually good and with little tweaking you get a good image. So when you start your tutorial with "Of course you want to shoot RAW" ..... you loose a lot of credibility. Not true that everybody what to spend hours in front of the computer to process a bunch of RAW every time you shoot. JPEG have a place, so does RAW. And there is HIF also, which the old-timer shooters simply ignore because they don't understand it but it is an interesting option as well. A sunrise or sunset in HIF is hard to beat if you have proper hardware to display it.
