I have mine specific for metallics and never used it for clearcoat because i have the ws400 black mamba but seems like it does a great job with the clearcoat also.👍🏻
I am not sure what the smallest compressor you can use is, but I do know that you want to get at least 20 psi out of the spray gun to get a proper spray pattern.
Usually I spray my base coat at 20 psi. That’s a good amount of air pressure for base coat. Honestly I don’t even own a mini spray gun. I do everything with my regular spray guns. My advice to you is if you’re doing professional work try looking for one that’s good quality like sata,devilbis, or iwata brands. If you’re doing D.I.Y work get something that more affordable and can get the job done.

1.3 fluid tip and the fan was open all the way except for when I was clearing. And the fluid was open out just about all the way open.

Can i spray a single stage paint with ls400?
Yes you can. Single stage paint sprays just like clear coat and this spray gun can spray clear coat nice and smooth.

I don’t remember if it was ET or ETS it was my work colleagues spray gun. It was a 1.3 nozzle tip is the only thing I remember.

I guess I prefer HVLP because that’s what I’ve been spraying with for years and HVLP spray guns are the most commonly used in the industry.
