  • BUY, LEASE OR FINANCE A ALFA ROMEO TONALE FROM OSV - bit.ly/3qGYwh1
    Striking, sleek and significant, Alfa Romeo's Tonale could hardly matter more to the Milanese maker. This compact SUV comes with electrified engines, a styling nod to the past and a very lovely cabin. Can it win over Teutonic brand customers looking for a change? It'll be interesting to see.
    So Alfa Romeo reinvents itself. Again. A few years ago, it was as a maker cable of credible SUVs. Now, it's as an electrified brand. Well, a partly electrified brand anyway. There's no Alfa EV yet, but we do at least have a proper hybrid product - and a car that will set a course for the next generation of Alfas, this one, the Tonale. It's a small SUV that sits just below the Stelvio in the company's line-up.

    Good looking car. I prefer it in Alfa's Montreal Green. I have always been an Alfa fan and hope that they have sorted out the reliability and customer service. Glad VW did not buy the brand and hope that Stellantis give Alfa the freedom to develop their products and keep them "Alfa Romeo" while adding better build quality and reliability. Great review.

    Time to provide some balanced reporting to this review....at 2:57 more misinformation...
    " The Tonale is Alfa Romeo’s first new model in six years - but whereas the larger Giulia and Stelvio that came before it shared a bespoke, rear-wheel-drive Giorgio chassis, the new Tonale is derived from the ‘Small Wide 4x4’ architecture beneath the Jeep Compass, Fiat 500X and other vehicles.
    The Tonale and Compass are even believed to share the same 2636mm wheelbase - but despite the common platform (which traces its roots back to 2012), Alfa Romeo officials say significant changes have been made under the skin to ensure the shared chassis is worthy of an Alfa Romeo badge.
    “We had the opportunity to [use] a new plant, a new assembly line,” explained Alfa Romeo global product manager Daniel Guzzafame told Australian and Japanese media at the Tonale’s reveal.
    “That helped us a lot in evolving what was the ex-FCA C [small car] and C-UV [small SUV] platform into something that was meant for us, to maintain and respect the [Tonale] Concept [revealed in 2019], in terms of proportions and style, and the driving dynamics.
    “We started from a former FCA [Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Alfa’s former parent company] platform, and we evolved it in terms of track - the platform actually looks different, because the car will look different from other vehicles because of that track.
    “But also materials, weight distribution - because we used aluminium stamping - the suspension [is] specific, the electric architecture is new, the steering and steering column rack and, by consequence, the steering ratio is specific to Tonale.
    “I'm calling it an evolution because actually, if you take it part by part, the only thing common is the central floor,” Guzzafame concluded.
    However, the Compass can’t match the Tonale’s 50:50 weight distribution, unique frequency-selective dampers, available adaptive suspension, or other chassis components pitched at sharp handling.
    Platform sharing between mainstream and luxury cars is not uncommon; see Audi, which uses the same MQB platform underpinning the Volkswagen T-Roc and Skoda Karoq for the Audi Q3 small luxury SUV.
    Don't hear you calling out TEUTONIC PERFECTION BRANDS FOR SHARING A PLATFORM....
    "...if you take it part by part, the ONLY THING COMMON IS THE CENTRAL FLOOR"
    TRUTH IN JOURNALISM PLEASE !!! You have a responsibility !!!
    FORZA ALFA BABY !!!!

    Stellantis didn't buy Alfa, FCA merged with PSA, including their newly acquired Vauxhall/Opel to form Stellantis.
    The 4WD on the PHEV has nothing to do with JEEP, they just used the hardpoints and floorpan.
    No one moans when VAG use the same platform for everything, yet you're banging on about JEEP....
    It is close to the concept car, as close as you can to productionise it.
    It looks far better in the metal than you suggest.
    I have only had a short test drive in a Tonale and I had a real look a around a few others at the dealer, the cabin is far better quality than you suggest, your knees must have really hurt crawling around looking for "scratchy plastics".
    The impression given in this review is that you really didn't want to like it from the start and made every effort to make sure you don't.
    There are three trim levels, there is Speciale, priced below the Ti and then Veloce
    The Giulia, Stelvio and Giulietta were not based on FIATs

    At 32:20 ANOTHER MISINFORMATION !!! "It's tempting to make comparisons with the Jeep Compass since this Tonale has borrowed all its basic engineering from that car....."
    ALL THEY SHARE IS A CENTRAL FLOOR !!!

  • @HarryJamesBooks
    @HarryJamesBooks ปีที่แล้ว

    Way overpriced for what it is. Start climbing the spec and you can get into an ex-demo Stelvio for the same kind of money.

    • @jamesterakazis6624
      @jamesterakazis6624 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's the proper take away sir.... At almost $60 K US , you can get a 3 year old Stelvio Quad with about 25 K miles...that's not even a contest !!!

  • @HarryJamesBooks
    @HarryJamesBooks ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can't speak for the UK, but here in Germany the interior choice is the deal breaker for me. They only offer black headlining's and black seats (leather or otherwise). If I wanted to drive in a coal mine I'd become a bloody coal miner 🙄🙄
    I do wish reviewers would start calling manufacturers out on this lazy "any interior you want as long as it's black" bullshit. No, it doesn't look "premium" - it looks sh!t.

    • @jamesterakazis6624
      @jamesterakazis6624 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Another WONDERFUL insight by you sir. This unfortunately is true of EVERY ALFA after 2021. They have cheaped out on the interior choices. I have a 2017 Giulia Quad (custom ordered) and a 2020 Stelvio Ti Sport (Trofeo White with the contrasting Red interior). Back then, if you got the Red interior, not only were the seats red but the lower dash, door card inserts, center console were all RED, plus you got red contrast stitching on the steering wheel and gear shift lever. NOW, if you order a red interior on a Giulia or Stelvio, ONLY THE SEATS ARE RED !!! They look TERRIBLE inside. It's like you stole the seats out of another car. Alfa, like Maserati, was always known for its interiors...time to step up the game boys !!!
      FORZA ALFA BABY !!!
      THE KING IS BACK !!!
