Apparently, The Subspace Emissary's World Conquest was recently dethroned as the longest work of English literature by _another_ Brawl fanfic.
Though it could also be a fucking Loud House fanfic called Loud House Revamped, though I am not sure if that still is true.
Fanfiction writers are... very dedicated to say the least.

@@paraco6083 With This Ring has been updating every day for 10 years and 5 months. It's around 4.3 million words at this point. Though about 1 million of the words are in canon omakes and so don't officially count towards the total.

Oh my god. Ughhh!!! Thank you!!!! I was wondering why it was spelled like this and thought it was a typo, and I even searched it as Martinee, and it auto corrected, so I just thought it was talking about him himself. Thanks for clearing that up. I think eventually I need to make a video where I go over mistakes I made and fix them lol.

If Pac-Man gets KO’d in that mode, he actually has a KO scream. That being his death sound from the original Pac-Man

Subspace Emissary being canon could refer to the fact that the cliff where everyone confronts Galeem in World of Light looks nearly identical to the cliff where, in the end of Subspace Emissary, the roster watched as the last region of Subspace receded. Interestingly, this would mean that the spot where Galeem hovered as he unleashed his onslaught would be around the same place as where the Isle of the Ancients used to be.
Could also refer to Kid Icarus Uprising in the sense that in that game there are references to Smash and other Nintendo feanchises and the Palutena guidances also tie in with canon follow-ups of Uprising (like Dark Pit and Phosphora now working for Viridi).
So in a way Smash Bros is canon to Kid Icarus(?)
I *think* the "Kirby is the most powerful character" may be referring to Sakurai making Kirby survive in cutscenes and character reveal trailers since he made Kirby, thus having a personal bias for them.
Kirby was the sole survivor of Ultimate's story mode intro and more recently, survived Kazuya's attempt to dump them in the pit. (Even though that was kind of a joke.)
If you want to get Technical Kirby can be considered "The Strongest Character" in the sense of Shear Density and Toughness, because Kirby is said to be a Being from the Previous Universe and was somehow able to survive The Big Crunch And Big Bang of his Game's Universe. And while I don't really care about the "This Character could beat this one" point liked touched on in this video I do like looking at the feats of some characters for example implying yes this *Could* make Kirby one of the "Toughest" Characters in Fictional Media as a whole, also he can go Beyond the Speed Of Light (without any form of protection) which is also how he Escaped Galeem.

Yeah, I never knew people heard gummy bears and I thought maybe it was a common thing among people that I hadn't heard of lol. I love that you took a personal thing from childhood and included it. That's what makes these icebergs what they are. The weird and obscure little things we'd think of or find as kids are way more interesting than something someone can datamine nowadays lol.

46:26 That is actually EXACTLY what you were supposed to do to get the secret trophies in Melee. You would take your memory card with Melee data on it to conventions and they would add the data for the trophy they were giving out to your memory card.

And Pichu was never playable in any official build of PM.

Just to add a note here for people about the Black Hole Glitch: The Black Hole Glitch absolutely requires you to do the Infinite Ammo Super Scope Glitch, not just simply have the Super Scope. I always thought it was great that such a crazy glitch relies on an already hilarious and silly glitch.
I used to play for hours with my cousin using that glitch. Throwing items in and shit.
But you totally dug up a memory I forgot about. The superscope part.
I heard that the reason why Mr. G&W can’t L-Cancel in Melee is because the game assumes his air attacks are special attacks and not normal attacks. In Melee characters can’t L-Cancel when using special moves so Mr.G&W can’t do it either. There’s 2 moves Mr.G&W can L-Cancel but I forgot which. AsumSausm or whoever his name is made a video of “The Most Glitchiest Character in Melee”
I think it’s his neutral up and back air that are marked as special moves. All that I’m 100% sure of though is that three of his ariels are counted as special moves
Up, Back, and Neutral Air are counted as special moves. Down and Forward Air are counted as normal moves.

Actually, the Kirby GCN models in Brawl is referring to the trophies in the gallery. the models in the Kirby section are ripped straight out of the cancelled Kirby game for the Gamecube with characters like Bonkers, Bronto Burt, Cappy, Sir Kibble, Wheelie, and especially Golem since Golem's only appearance in the series was Kirby and the Amazing Mirror for the GBA and that enemy was going to return in the Cancelled Kirby GCN game so this would be the only time the Golem would ever have a 3D model, and Dedede's jet hammer was also going to originate in that same Kirby GCN game (Which I am surprised wasn't the iceberg) so maybe the cancelled Kirby GCN game wans Brawl has a lot of connections to each other then we probably though, and don't get me started in the Subspace Emissary.
So the "Kirby is the strongest Smash character" is about how, canonically, Kirby (with Dedede's help) was the only one to survive Tabuu's attack in Brawl, and his expert warp star piloting was the catalyst for him being the only one to survive Galeem's attack in Ultimate.

-sonic never got attacked by tabuu and only came in to basically say "fuck you smurf man"
-luigi, ness, and kirby all had dedede's special token things that allowed them to get revived after tabuu's attack, though only kirby actually suffered from tabuu's attack as luigi and ness were turned to trophies earlier
-dedede was resurrected from trophy status by luigi and ness after they were freed
The gun texture in Peach's files is actually a reflection map for her golf club
I think it's really cool that Ditto eventually got added to Ultimate, and it even has the same function that was originally planned for it in Melee
They remembered what Ditto's function was meant to be.
Man, remember when the ballot was available, and a ton of people deliberately put meme entries like goku, shrek and the like?
That’s probably why the ballot may have been used for Ultimate instead of Smash 4’s DLC

If they will make Smash 6, would like to see Agumon as another Bandai Namco representative (the reasoning: Digimon first started as a series of virtual pets (basically Tamagotchi, but "for boys" and featured a combat system), and if the Game & Watch games count as video games, why not? Also, a fighter representing the virtual pet genre would be cool) as well as Amaterasu from Okami as another Capcom representative (we need more quadrupedal, non-human/non-humanoid characters, since Ivysaur and Duck Hunt prove that it's possible). Also, would like to see a mobile game representative and an indie game representative (my guess: If they can't promote Shovel Knight as playable, how about the Knight from Hollow Knight?).

I wonder if there is a Metroid iceberg, considering there is definitely more than Justin Bailey with the series. Metroid 64, the original Dread, the VAR Beam come to mind. There is probably a lot about the history of the Chozo that would surprise a lot of people, myself included.

I was pretty sure 90% of this video would fly over my head, but as soon as you mentioned the Subspace Emissary Worlds Conquest I was cackling like a madman. I have a weirdly personal relationship to that fic, having stumbled across a TH-cam channel attempting to read through the entire thing during a particularly stressful semester of school. To be clear, the fic itself is in no uncertain terms a train wreck, but the "audiobook's" narrator was oddly charming, and for a few months I ended up habitually listening through his hundreds of videos as a sort of absurdist meditation. In the end, the video series never even reached one quarter of the way through the full story, but even that was well beyond the call of duty. Having willingly sat through even that small fragment, the full scale of the work seems... ineffable. Somehow divine in its sheer inaccessibility. Comparisons to Harry Potter, Homestuck, etcetera simply don't do it justice, since all the reasonable reference points are actually enjoyable to read. SSEWC's Windwaker arc will expand your mind's definition of the word "tedium".

A good way to see the effects of SDI is moving around when you get hit with a smart bomb. You can spin in circles for fun or, if you're close to the edge of the explosion, you can actually escape it by tapping away from the center.

super late but an easy way to explain SDI is that every move has a set amount of frames of hitlag when hitting an opponent, where they arent immediately launched and instead hold position for a very small amount of time. within that time, inputting a direction will slightly shift your character. with multiple really quick control stick inputs, you can sdi far enough to do cool things like avoid multi hit moves or even avoid setups for some combos. a great example is in melee, jigglypuff can escape getting hit by the second hit of fox's up air by sdi-ing the first hit, which makes her survivability infintely better in that match up. just figured it's an interesting topic, great video btw!
33:02 wobbling is technically possible in brawl, but it’s usually called pass-offs. It also used to be possible in 4xm, but it was patched, due it being preformed by just using Mac’s pummel and nothing else
31:13, the current longest piece of literature is a Loud House self insert fanfiction called "The Loud House Revamped" with ~6.5 million words the last time I checked and 1000+ chapters.
Thanks for another amazing video! I think you have really thoughtful and insightful ideas for a ton of different videos. Your voice I find to be quite calming. I was drawn to your channel because of the iceberg videos and how you explained most items. There were some on the Pokemon iceberg that you didn't know which is fine. The more obscure things in Smash and in Zelda I didn't know about, which was quite informative to me. Thank you for taking the hours and time to develop your videos!
Being a bit more serious now. What value do you want to add in your videos? Or what value do you bring to your subscribers and TH-cam? Writing scripts, and editing takes a lot of time. But you'll improve with more practice. My buddy Daryl, for "Psych of Play" has some pretty good scripts, as he talks about psychological studies and video games. Keep up the great work! Not sure if Elder Scrolls is a game series you’ve at all played with but it has a very extensive iceberg but you don’t have to be obliged to that type of content I think anything you do would be a great video in the end

Someone else brought up how Subspace Emmisary being canon could refer to a connection to Ultimate's spirit mode, but it could also mean two other things.
-Subspage Emmisary is a canon prequel to Brawl's main smash mode, serving as an explanation for how these characters all met to fight each other.
-Subspace Emmisary is canon to the Kid Icarus series, as Pit makes a few references to Brawl in Kid Icarus: Uprising

I would love to see you discuss Resident Evil and Silent Hill icebergs.
Someone made a theory that Tabu represents maturity and the kid growing up and forgeting about the imagination. During the OG super-smash bros we can tell this through the prespective of a kid, and Tabu represents the kid as a teenager growing up and trying to give up his love for the game we know as super-smash bros. That's why he even attacks master hand, his child self. Eventually our characters attack Tabu and defeat him, because you can't really change what you love. Tabu representing the kid's maturity explains why he is so powerful.
i feel like space jumping/teleports in subspace are a fair way to kind of even the playing field a bit more, since the camera focuses on player 1 at all times, and there's a lot of awkward platforming sections that can easily/constantly leave player 2 behind without really good cooperation between the players (as well as player 2 not being able to go through doors, or keep playing if player 1 dies, etc). especially if we're talking about two kids playing the game (which was definitely the case for me way back when), that's an argument waiting to happen, so as much as it looks like little easy baby mode on the outside i genuinely really appreciate its inclusion.
Galeem and Dharkoon are in one way related to the occult. Their symbolism and role fit the idea of the right hand path (order, stability, no change, stick to the rules and so on) and the left hand path (chaos, destruction, questioning of rules, extatic states and so on)

I wish they would of did something like that for Ultimate, I mean I like Spirit Mode, I even took the time yo 100% it twice. But I wish they would have brought subspace emmisary back. They have a lot of new characters, they could make a really good and long story.
I liked it too. Though I think it could have been better if they used more minions from the actual games rather than those things created ex novo.
Doun and Gelleom were two coolest bosses though and I'm pretty half-disappointed that only Galleom returned.
The Subspace Emissary gets so much undeserved hate. I remember pulling a near all-nighter and going from the beginning to the great maze and it taking 8 hours to do. From 9 PM to 5 AM. The next day was tough but I beat it which made up for the lack of sleep hahaha

An explanation for why Mr. Game and Watch can't L Cancel is because there was some error in the game development that makes the game consider 3 of his Aerials specials, so he only has 2 Aerials and has 5 specials, I got this from a vid on AsumSaus's channel, he has some really cool vids that cover a lot more of competitive Melee fun facts
I am not sure if someone said this already, but I think what the iceberg means by Kirby being the strongest character is referring to the fact that Kirby is the last character standing, and is the character you use to rescue everyone else in Subspace Emissary and World of Light, when they are all defeated/captured by Tabuu and Galeem respectively. And that because Kirby is the character that can escape from all that, it makes him the "most powerful character". Though I am sure we're all aware it's because of Sakurai's soft spot for Kirby since he created him and all.
Kirby's also a literal god, so yeah he's probably one of the strongest characters in Smash

Yes, but thats way after Smash 64 came out. You can argue that you can use the Star Fox characters on foot in the 64 games multi-player mode, but really that's all and its very limited.

"Kirby being the strongest" might be referring to the fact that, as a Smash fighter, he's pretty overpowered. Being able to copy other fighters moves, fly for a short period of time, and having two heavy hitting moves (The hammer and him turning into a rock), it's pretty easy to win difficult battles with Kirby which is why a lot of beginner players play as him.
Joker appeared on the 3DS in Persona Q2 which released on November 29th, 2018, and then was announced for Smash a week later on December 6th, 2018. So he did appear on a Nintendo console prior to his announcement.
