Looking at getting one in the next few weeks as my first bike, learnt to Ride on Suzuki sv650 and the mt07 but I have seen one of these I fell in love, how is it mate ? Did you get the abs and akra exhaust with it it stock ???
LOL, don’t take your sport bike off-road, solid advice bro. I have the ninja 400 and I can easily break any posted speed limit where I live in New Jersey where max speed limit is 65 mph (although that speed limit is routinely broken on most highways and interstates) and police usually wont pull you over unless you’re really flying.....So, yeah I imagine the 650 has more than enough power unless you’re trying to be street Rossi. Good review 👍
I love how comfortable my Gsxr is for a crotch rocket. I really like the display on the 650 tho. I don’t know why they haven’t brought it to the zx6r and zx10r
Another great video! Good attitude while riding. When people don’t give the right of way or wait your turn at the 4 way stop you stay calm. This is good
Ive been riding for 2 yrs now steady, and have a 2016 ninja 650 as my first bike that i ever bought, not rode. I do recommend changing the exhaust. It cuts a lot of weight and sounds better. I have a Yoshimura RS4 on my bike. It was a bit intimidating at first but keep riding and you get used to it. The ninja 650 does have some torque on the throttle that can get you in trouble in first and second gear if your not careful. I love it though but i want a ninja 1000 or Z900. I test rode the MT-09 and dont like the seating position much. But that is one heck of a bike that will most definitely get someone into trouble the MT-09
Agree with all your points on the 650! :) She is a rarity in her Jack Of All Trades demeanor in that she not only does just about everything, but she does it at way better than average. plenty of power, nimble enough to where if you put her in the twisties, she’ll give an average skilled super sport rider a run for his/her money, she’s more than up to par for long range touring comfort, wind protection is good, city street handling is superb... I could go on n on! I TRULY miss mine (stolen)!
KawaKouple Thanks. The one silver lining - the newer models look incredibly nice with the weight savings and new dash (mine was a ‘15). Here’s hoping. 🤞
I just got back in into riding bikes again at the beginning of the year. I use to ride an r6 and a gsxr750 and I wanted a quick bike I could grow into. I ended up getting a ninja 650 and love it. It sure can move but it's not as quick a supersport, but it will do sub 12 second quarter miles and it will go almost 140mph with a few mods. I did get a gsxr 600 as a second bike but I kept the ninja 650. It is way more comfortable and not so cramped like my supersport.
I just got the 2020 version of this bike delivered today and honestly I’m speechless - it’s an absolute dream! My initial thoughts - subject to change of course! Just some background: I’m a 6’ female with a childhood motocross background coming back from a 10/11 year riding hiatus and no road bike experience - it’s my (technically second but I call it my first) road bike I absolutely love it. I took it for a ride around my subdivision for about 2h without feeling cramped or sore, I found this bike is super comfortable even being 6ft. I originally bought a HD Iron 883 and I got some wicked hip cramps after about 10 mins of riding (that’s why I switched riding positions/bikes) - I do have a history of back problems even tho I’m 20, go figure. It took me a couple minutes to find a clutch position that worked for me - thanks to the lovely and easily adjustable levers - and get used to the initial amount of torque but after that, I found I could handle it quite easily (don’t imagine some big strong girl because you’ll have the wrong idea - I’ve got the noodiliest of arms and I’m quite tiny for my height). After riding around for a while, I think this bike would be quite a lot for someone with absolutely no motorcycle experience at all, especially if they were on the smaller stature side (I had my 5’6” mother sit on it and it just swamped her - the bike isn’t modified in any way just to clarify). But aside from that fact, I personally believe that anyone coming back from a hiatus, has other bike experience, or even has experience with a manual transmission car would be able figure this bike out pretty quick. Like you said, the bike is definitely very straightforward in its display, buttons, and controls. This bike is great and I can’t wait to ride it more as it’s just insanely fun. As with any bike, respect it and it shall pay you back in many smiles :)
Thank you so much for sharing, congratulations and I hope you ride safe and stay safe, we would love to see you and you bike, if you feel comfortable you can send a pic to kawakouple@gmail.com and I think it would be a awesome video I could make, i often get asked about both females and people over 6’. KawaKouple Thanks for the reply! Oh, I absolutely would love to send some photos to help us tall ladies out - it’s a real struggle in a mostly male dominated hobby in so many ways. Thank you for such an awesome review! I really enjoyed it! I’m just taking it one ride at a time, I’m in no rush to get to know the bikes limits that’s for sure. Stay safe out there yourself!
Very cool, in case this was the only video you saw, my wife is also on the channel, in the past 4 years we have seen a massive growth of female riders and we can’t wait to see more. Thank you for the kind words and again... please ride safe and stay safe. Note: watch the second gear if you twist the throttle cause the front will come up.
KawaKouple that’s amazing! It’s so great to hear that more women are experiencing riding motorcycles because it’s such a wonderful and unique experience. I will definitely keep second gear in mind for future outings! Thank you so much for that information! Probably saved me a heart stopping moment in the future haha, much appreciated!
How would it be for a person like me coming from a Z900RS? Will I feel under powered? Just so you know I am looking at the ninja 650 for better wind protection and lower all round cost over the ninja 1000 but I am Worried about power not that I’m a speed demon or do track days but I do like the cruise on the highway 75 to 80 and I like having pass and power not sure if this will give me those checkmarks
To be honest I think you might really like it but I would absolutely take it for a test ride before making any decisions, as with most things in life these days I would say that it’s a choice very much based on personal preference. It’s an absolutely great bike but I wouldn’t say it’s for everyone, I love it, for me this bike check all the boxes but it doesn’t mean it will for others. Highly recommend you test ride it before purchase. Thank you and appreciate the support.

Great review and completely agree with you, I’ve been riding all sorts of bikes since 17 including a zx6r which is still my favourite but now have a 2019 Ninja 650 now at at age 48 and she’s perfect, light and agile but well planted on the road, good torque, very quick up to 100mph. Two must have mods though are metzeler roadtech 01 tyres and a good full system exhaust as the stock one sounds like a wet fart!
Did you try touring with a passenger, please? I am considering buying this one, but my girlfriend loves to go on trips with me, so passenger comfort is one important aspect I have to consider before getting a new bike.. thanks!
it would be great if kawie added a ninja 800 or 900 to the 400/650 line up ...they could just put the engine in the 650 frame 80-85 hp and that thing would rock (i speak of a twin of that displacement)
What year is this bike? I dig the all black with silver highlights but cant seem to find one like this thats a 2019 model. Also I'm 5'7... is my midget status going to to disagree with this bike?
I am 5’6” so you will be just fine and as for the the bike it was just my luck to find the all black, keep in mind that I took off all the decals. Appreciate the comment and support.

I got the Kawasexy 650 as my second bike. I think it’s a intermediate entry level bike. It’s not scary to ride and I think a newbie could deal with it. I would recommend to upgrade the tyres to Michelin Pilot road 5 to get more confidence on the curves and also change the original pipe because the original sound kinda sucks and sounds like a scooter. After 10000km I would recommend it and that’s if you’re not into naked bikes as you can get the MT 07 or the Z900 for about the same price. You said it best and your subscribers should take notes it’s a sport TOURING bike 🧞♂️
Agree to be careful but I mean its not 600cc sport bike 4 cylinder......he has power but the acceleration it's smooth its Parallel twin 68hp good enough to go highway i think even a new rider should be fine on that bike.

Great review & informative..!✌😁...but my height is 5"4'(I m a short rider)...Do you think i can handle this bike...?😥...love the look of this bike and again...great video..!!✌✌
With how cheap the zx6r is I’m surprised anyone gets a 650 when you can get a 636 with power modes and traction control and a quick shifter. Although the 650 is a great newb bike after 1 season of riding you should be ready for the zx6r. I’m surprised your not bored with it after 3 years.
I know what your saying, however, the 650 riding position makes a difference, also it’s slow maneuvers capabilities are much better than the zx6r, for someone who likes to explore back lanes, downtowns the 650 is simply the right bike. Just my opinion. Appreciate the support Bill, thank you.
Honestly mine has been absolutely trouble free, no issues, no problems. Like am with anything, if you push it hard enough and long enough there will be something.
..I would not recommend this bike for anyone over 6'2". I'm 5'9" and I get a little uncomfortable after 30 minutes of riding because the foot pegs I believe are for ppl 5'9" and shorter. Also you get vibration in the handle bars which will make your hands numb after about 30 minutes of riding. People forget this bike is a 2 cyl not a 4 cylinder, so there's a little more vibration in the frame and handle bars. I still love the bike though and have had my blue one since the spring of 2018. My 3rd bike and been riding since 1987.
I have thought about it and the issue is that they are very different bikes. I will think about though and see if I can put a video together. Appreciate the support and comment.
Beginner/experienced rider , looking for low financial pressure, not chasing after extra 20-30mph from the bike, relaxed riding position... Ninja 650(4stroke ,twin parallel cylinder ..which sounds good enough for me) (changing exhaust will do more than enough) Experienced rider, wants absolute power on road / track, more aggressive riding position, don't mind slightly higher maintenance cost... Zx6r (4cylinder sounds? Maybe you would care alot for the exhaust sound?) Ninja650 (sport touring bike, aggressive enough for me) Zx6r (sportbike, more aggressive but higher maintenance)
From experience, almost any bike can hit gravel roads if you are careful, but I agree dirt or completely off road not so good on bikes like the ninja650
I surprisingly get that question a lot, it’s always fun telling people that a sport bike should not be going completely off road, it get a bit tricky to explain why 😂
I got the 2019 model as my first bike. I was overwhelmed at first, but after a few days I can handle it well.
Yup, all it takes is a bit of time to get the feeling right. Congratulations on your new bike. Ride safe. Appreciate the comment and support

The 650 can go 0 to 100 mph in just under 5 seconds and can do the quarter mile in 11 seconds. She can go !!!
Absolutely, to me this is the most underrated bike. Absolutely awesome bike.

@@DANIELSAM329 This is my forth bike w/o abs ,I'm 60 and if I buy another bike someday I'll get abs.
How about the reliability of this bike sir, have you ever heard or encountered any issues of this bike with this category?
Honestly mine has been absolutely trouble free, no issues, no problems. Like am with anything, if you push it hard enough and long enough there will be something.
@@KawaKouple im sorry sir, what is that mean there will be something, vibration, about power? Kindly clarify it sir, thanks..
As time goes on I am sure that the wear and tear from regular use can cause damage over time. That’s all I meant.
@@KawaKouple got it, thanks sir..
My pleasure. Thank you for your support.
i love that bike,ohh yes
👌👌👌
papa jones you have ABS?
Would you recommend this bike to a tall guy, say 6,3 like me.
Actually I would. Good question.
What if for shorter guy , 5,5 sire?
Megat Azman 5’5” is not a problem.
..I would not recommend this bike for anyone over 6'2".
Where did u get ur helmet it’s so sick
Voss helmets
That is a great looking bike but, it would look better with a black rear sprocket.
Yeah possibly. I’ll think about it. Thanks Bob.
Could this bike be used for touring?
Absolutely, this is in fact a sport touring bike, I will be uploading a new video in the next hour or so that you might like to watch.
Looking forward to it
Just uploaded the video so your welcome to check it out. Appreciate the support. Thank you.
@@KawaKouple I saw a new Ninja 650 for sale for $6000
Very good price.
Awesome! What exahust you have installed on yours? It sounds great!
It is the Yoshimura Alpha Full Exhaust.
@@KawaKouple It sounds amazing! Is it legal? Hahaha
Yes it is with the silencer in, I do have it in and I must say without the silencer it is absolutely too loud.
TFT Screen on the 2020 model.
Didn’t know that. Thanks.
is you bike in km or mph?
Km
KawaKouple thanks. I just got my 2019 650 no abs. My first gear starts to “scream” at around 15mph or 24 kmh... is that normal ?
More than likely your in your break in period. I would call the dealership to be sure.
I'd like to hear you compare the Ninja 650 to the ZX6R
I have thought about it and the issue is that they are very different bikes. I will think about though and see if I can put a video together. Appreciate the support and comment.
Beginner/experienced rider , looking for low financial pressure, not chasing after extra 20-30mph from the bike, relaxed riding position... Ninja 650(4stroke ,twin parallel cylinder ..which sounds good enough for me) (changing exhaust will do more than enough)
Experienced rider, wants absolute power on road / track, more aggressive riding position, don't mind slightly higher maintenance cost... Zx6r (4cylinder sounds? Maybe you would care alot for the exhaust sound?)
Ninja650 (sport touring bike, aggressive enough for me)
Zx6r (sportbike, more aggressive but higher maintenance)
Yup. That’s pretty much it.
650 is for touring mid-range bike 213kph
Zx6r is the sportsbike 267kph
Have you rode you’re bike to deep cove
Yes I have. It was a fun ride.
Choose it over a R1
