  • Just some things I picked up while riding. Let me know if there are any fears you may have that I didn't mention.
    Topics covered.
    - Fear vs uncomfortable
    - Fast speeds
    - Other vehicles
    - Death wobbles
    - Lane position
    These are just topics I find that are common with new rider’s regarding highways and faster speeds.
    Please note that I am a beginner as well. This is not meant to fix problems but rather encourage new riders and hopefully ease some anxiety that may occur.

    Awesome video my brother. Got to keep your head on a swivel, For Real! I live in Florida (Pasco County, Tampa & Surrounding areas), US hwy 19 is one of many & THE MOST Dangerous Roads in Florida and America ( D.O.T., FHP, & AAA Standards)! And sometimes it can be overwhelming (even in a car) with the influx in traffic conditions of "New Floridaians" and "Snowbirds" moving or visiting here. As a beginner this is great info, much appreciated, Be safe out there!

    Watch for people in parking lots. Don’t assume anyone is going to stop. I was in a car and some guy cut across right in front of me in a truck. He saw me 3 seconds before passing through and just waved. I have also stalled in front of people at a stop light in my beginner days. After I had taken the MSF course, I haven’t stalled since. That’s something every motorcyclist should take for themselves. It was a great experience and I learned a lot. Lots of practice and they show you the right way to ride.
    You don’t really go faster than 20, so if you have a good stretch of road that isn’t busy for practice with some stops, yields, different length turns, that would be good practice.

    Great video, as usual. Keep it up! Loudness in your helmet is definitely based on the helmet you use. Sadly, the quiet helmets with good seals are usually $500+. But most helmet reviews will mention how noisy they are, so another point in the "let's research this" category. Earplugs are great if you deal with a lot of wind noise, you can damage your hearing permanently otherwise. 🏍

      @CityNinja650  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Really appreciate that. Glad it comes out good. Yea I’m definitely going to invest in plugs when I do long travels. I want to do a big trip this summer. Either up the coast of Maine to the Canada border or to Utah….I really wanna go to Utah

      @christianburger25 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@CityNinja650 they make ear plugs just for motorcycles. They allow certain sounds to be heard like sirens or your exhaust note but cut the wind. Which is what would give you tinnitus or loss of hearing over time.

    I got a 22 KRT model with no ABS... i was sure I had the ABS. Nothing I can do now, so I'm worried of an emergency stop and/or riding in the wet (wasn't planning to start in the rain right away my 1st class on the road is in 3 days so beginner, the bike is still at the dealer). Feel like I'm in a worse situation since I don't have ABS. I try to tell myself I'll have to practice more (emergency stops) and in the end I'll be a better rider.

    • @stevewhite5201
      @stevewhite5201 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Don't worry too much bud, just keep practicing like you said. I also started on a non-ABS bike. I've locked up my back tire a few times, but I didn't go down. Definitely better to lockup the back tire and not the front though (better to lowside than highside). Also, I've been told that you're first priority should be to swerve into an exit-path and not to brake, so practice evasive maneuvers as well. Practice, practice, practice! Ride safe!

      Mine is also non abs. I was a little worried about that but it’s not bad. In all honesty if the abs kicks in then the rider was probably to aggressive on the breaks (what I read). What I wanna do is purposely lock mine up. That way I know what to expect. It’s on the to do list. You will catch on faster then you think. A lot faster. The classes are fun too. I definitely want to do more

    • @Compton3clipsed
      @Compton3clipsed ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ABS isn't super required on bikes, you are rarely gonna be in a position to lock a bike up, since you also have two different brakes to apply in stopping at different tires. Also, the 23 and I think the 22 Ninja 650 KRT still have traction control on them, even without ABS, and that's going to do a lot in rain for you. Ride slower in the rain and you'll likely never need ABS.

    • @DaPoopz

    shoot I make my own judgments. I had some people talk about me on tik tok cause I wasnt in the right lane. All they saw was me slowing down for brake lights and completely ignoring a merging lane to the right and then another merging lane into the lane I already was in. Mind you I was already speeding until I saw the brake lights. They wanted me to make dumb decisions to put myself into unnecessary danger.

      At the end of the day nobody (viewers watching your video) know everything that’s going on. There are things that they can’t see and everyone wants to judge.
      You do you and what’s best for you to avoid a crash. I had people comment on my stuff.
      My close call accident everyone (even Dan Dan the fireman) said target fixation on the wall is what caused my close call. When in reality I was accelerating through the turn (makes radius bigger)
      I was target fixated but it wasn’t on the wall. There was gravel that collected and I knew I was running wide and had to keep the wheel straight while applying break pressure.
      Keep doing you. Unfortunately there are a lot of people who think they know best
