I realize this is an old video but I just recently got the Ka Bar choppa And I also found the handle to be too thin but instead of wrapping it was Wilson rap I added Orange liners It came out great in this worked awesome. I just thought I would add that for anybody that might want to give it a try Thank you for all the great videos

Great blast from the past! I really like the Jarosz series of Ka-Bars.
Those Choppas are badass. I messed around with one and fell in love with it but never went back to get one myself. Thanks for reminding me about it.

The camera shake during the chop demo was pretty BA. I was actually considering this knife for a good camp tool until I found your JX5. I fell in love with your handle design and bolo style blade shape. Plus, Bark River (nuff said about that). When my son is a little older, I might have to get him this Jarosz choppa for his first big blade. Love the channel, Chris! Keep up the good work!
I held one of these before, it was way lighter than it appears & very fast in hand. Can't believe I haven't bought one yet.

The Choppa and my BK21 are my favorite big blades. I'm glad I jumped on them when I did. Because they have kinda dried up on the market and those available are pricey!

Beat me to it. Kershaw is not as nice as this, but I think it is a great option. This Ka-bar is more traditional and very nice indeed.

I bought my mother an Arkansas ceramics knife sharpener she loves it. I bought me one to a little thinner and it keeps my knives razor sharp.
I do have two "big ass" knives, and they are a timber rattler Bowie, and an Old Timer Bowie.

This is a great blade for delimbing jobs. Like a Skrama (I have to nag Chris with that one once in a while). Try delimbing some thick hawthorn branches and trunks with this type of blade, they really shine for that.
I wish I could find some scales for the Turok and the this one.

Got mine based on your review. Handle is a bit slippery. Might need to look into a thin wrap like yours.
Wilson wrap works wonders. Adds grip and doesn't really make the handle size change.

Nice but your Jess × is all l need, including using the backside to help influence things, l had gotten 2 but like always my kid brother scoffed one. I carry a k bar for a fighting knife but if need be yours would do just fine. Thanks boss.

Definitely a good call. Nothing wrong with the Ka-bar. Just saying.
Those little bits of Chromium, Vanadium and Nickel do make a difference. Finer grain size as well as a bit more edge retention. I have 6 Kabar's and several 1095's from various makers and in my experience the Cro Van is better. It's not as good as O1 or K720 but close

This has to be one of the best blades for the size, yet with cheap plastic scales.. and yeah the brown color does not help. It deserves micarta.
