Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on TH-cam, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on TH-cam. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on TH-cam, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

The Finn Bros of New Zealand were originally in the Split Enz, a new-wave band, then founded Crowded House, which had several great albums with hit songs. Neil Finn is a brilliant songwriter.

Love "I Got You" from the very day of it's release,, till this very day..At the time of it's release,, it was so unique/different from anything else...Because of that,, it was the "Breath Of Fresh Air" music/we truly needed at the time..Also,, What was funny to me then & even funnier to me today is that at the time of it's release,, there was a fair amount of people who would act/say things like,, "They just couldn't handle it" or similar statements..The best way I could describe their actions and/or statements is like as if someone just played/forced them to listen to the MOST HARDCORE punk rock EVER MADE,, which is exactly why then & now I still find that hilarious,, now of course it was FAR from it...BUT over time they would end up accepting it,, really liking the song & realizing that they had REALLY over-reacted to the truly different/unique/sound/song.

Ah man, that guitar intro instantly takes me back to that era. I had just moved to the big city, my first apartment. Started a new job - and this new band came out with a fantastic album. I knew of Neil from his Split Enz days & was captivated by the new direction he was taking. Great song. RIP Paul Hester, gone far too soon.

Years ago they had a TV miniseries of Stephen King's The Stand. This song was featured in it and up until then I'd never gave it a second listen, but it's actually a great song and fit the story well too.

That sound of the echoes or reverb in the song takes us in the 80's and the organ take us to 1965. It is a social message about humanity not letting governments divide us as a race of people.

This is one of those rare albums where every single song is excellent. You can listen to the entire album from start to finish without having to skip a song you don’t like. I had several copies of it back when it came out. I’d lose one or one would be damaged and I’d go buy another, it was that good. 🙂

I saw the House three times, between 1991-‘94, and Neil Finn once, solo in ‘98.
Very glad they do continue to make albums, still.
While this was their first big hit song, it is so brilliant, emotional, and true - and, their audience sings along with.

@@kimn9802 Neil was (and is) their songwriter and lead singer, and Tim Finn was in the band for a while too and co-wrote some of their biggest hits. NZ has as much reason to claim them as Australia does, IMO.

The only comments about the meaning come from a band member about consumerism and mass media. The idea that we are being separated from each other by the whole idea of "Keeping up with the Jones". I'm skeptical of that because it seems that the lyrics are way too vague to draw any conclusions.
