Crowded House have a great catalogue and Neil Finn the singer and writer is a brilliant songwriter of the calibre of Lennon and McCartney and has some great solo work too. “Dont dream its over”, “Something so strong”, ‘fall at your feet’, “Four seasons in one day”, ‘Private universe’,’Distant sun’, ‘Dont stop now’ and ‘Even a child’ to name but a few.

Neil and his older brother Tim started out in the NZ band Split Enz, which was progressive/art rock and later became more new wave/pop-rock. Neil and Tim both have a lot of great solo music, and together as the Finn Brothers. Neil's sons Liam and Elroy are in Crowded House now. From an article by David Oke: "The lyrics of Better Be Home Soon have been interpreted in many ways. It might be about a relationship where the partner is ‘absent’, but possibly, not physically. It seems to be a cry out for restoring a relationship and for partners being honest with one another. Another interpretation is that Neil is singing about his relationship with Paul, [drummer Paul Hester, who suffered from depression and took his own life in 2005], that he is well aware of Paul’s struggles and that Paul needs to be in the security of ‘being safe at home’. Whatever the true meaning of the song, it is beautiful, emotional and a cry out to come to the security of home - wherever home might be." Just in case you're interested, there are videos on TH-cam of Eddie Vedder (who is a big Split Enz/Finn fan) singing "Better Be Home Soon" with Neil and Liam at a Pearl Jam concert in Christchurch NZ in 2009.

My favorite band and singer. This was a huge hit in Australia/New Zealand. The are live videos with the audience taking over the vocals in parts. I would recommend deeper tracks like Hole in the River, Fingers of Love, and Silent House. This reaction earned a subscribe.
