The 80’s had such a diversity of popular music that the term “pop” is an insult in its classical meaning. There was nothing off limits as a genre to capture the ear of the masses. The production value of 80’s music aimed for the widest audience and still so good. I love this song

Maybe her voice is there but musically... nah lol. Music for Adele tends to take a back seat a bit because they wont most pop to be vocal oriented. This song is both musically and vocally driven. Melody through the whole song and all the musicians are present in this band and not one artist shadowed by a backing band.

The members are both from NZ and Australia. The band was formed in Melbourne. Let's just call it Ozzie's and kiwis doing what we do best.

Just because 1 member came from New Zealand does not mean the whole band is kiwi, I think people often forget the fact that the other members are Aussies and the band started in Australia.

I went through a lot of dental work at 30 years old. They pulled teeth, fixed teeth and I had braces for 18 months. Best thing I ever did. Keep with it brother. Good luck

When I heard this the first time in 1987, I cried my heart out!!! It moved me that much.
Lead singer Neil Finn is now guitarist/vocal for Fleetwood Mac, and the drummer did some episodes of The Wiggles, an AU young children's show as "Chef Paul" and preformed the song "Fruit Salad" with the Wiggles. Sadly, he committed suicide. I haven't a clue where the keys/bassist is now.
1987 we used to play Spades all night on Marine Corps radio watch. This song played a lot in those days. We Started saying Hey Now!! Every time we threw a spade. Hey now hey now I took your queenie

Neil Finn, leader, vocalist and writer with Crowded House is a supreme talent. He is in a class with the best of the best. I've seen them live a couple of times over the years and love them as do so many fans. You know you're in special company when a crowd is often singing lyrics even if the singer hesitates or breaks. If you have the opportunity to witness that, don't hesitate.

"Sister madly" and "world where you live" are great crowded house songs IMO. Neil's earlier band Split Enz is said to be one of Eddie Vedder's (of Pearl jam) earlier influences. The two are also good friends after Neil saved Eddie from drowning while surfing in New Zealand.
