Thanks for the feedback. I know that’s how it’s done on a normal tractor. I feel I should start the PTO at a higher rpm though then where I had it the one time that it bogged down. I tried it that low to avoid the noise from being an issue at the beginning part of that.
Thank you. I really try to make these to be as relatable as possible to the typical consumer like my self. Enjoy your weekend and glad you found it helpful. 😁
Probably the most comprehensive video on any XT1 I’ve seen this week as I research. Thank you. I didn’t know the 50 had an engineered deck. I was going to get a Husqvarna Zero Turn from Tractor Supply because it had an engineered deck but I don’t really need a zero turn. Just saw my local TSC has this is stock. Think I’ll pick it up tomorrow. I don’t have the land you have but I’ll at least have the nicest tractor in the neighborhood. Thanks great video.
I really appreciate the kind words. We don’t get much out of these videos but comments like this, make it ALL worth it. Now that we have our big tractor I still wouldn’t get a zero turn. I’d buy this lawn tractor again. Thanks again. Enjoy the new purchase. You won’t be disappointed.
Nice review, Andrew! You really know what you are talking about and it shows in the video. You share a lot of details and facts while keeping a good pace. - Eli
Just ordered this yesterday and will get it Monday. Seems to be a good machine with options available. Like the old school type over zero turn. Will let you know how the first mow goes!
Fantastic! Hopefully you enjoy it as much as we have. It’s been extremely useful. I’ll admit I don’t get as much use out of it since I got my “big” tractor but it did everything I needed it to. Now it’s retired to it’s intended purpose. A lawn mower lol. Looking forward to hearing how you like it.
I bought a LT1-46 with the 23 HP Kohler engine on July.11th 2022. I now have 12.3 hours on it. It is always garage kept and runs on ethanol free 90 octane. It has been in the local Cub Cadet authorized repair shop since May 11th of this year. The original Tuff Torq transmission totally locked up while mowing back in May. A new transmission was authorized for replacement under warranty. It was installed and found out to be faulty as well. Leaked oil from shift shaft area and would stick in forward or reverse. Transmission number 3 is backordered and the warranty is still covering the total costs. I asked Cub Cadet for some relief as I have had to rent, borrow and hire for mowing the 1/2 acre lawn. Do not buy lawn mowers manufactured during a pandemic! Tuff Torq transmissions are in many brands of mowers and there must be a bad batch. Love the features of the Cub Cadet, just wish it was back here at home!
The trans is the Achilles heal of quite a few of the residential lawn tractors. And you are right, a lot of brands use the same one. Sorry to hear that happened to you. I’m around 67 trouble free hours now.
I'm experiencing this same problem right now with only 25 hours on the mower luckily it's on warranty but it should have not failed I'm worried about this
Now have 48 hours and all is good. Transmission #4 is working great. They did stand behind it with warranty bearing the costs. Be sure you use an authorized repair facility. Good luck!
I bought a huge 2024 (March 13) Troy-Bilt Super Bronco 50K XP, serie 7000 Kohler, 24 HP (725 cc) black and dark grey three weeks ago and honestly, excluding some 3-4 things, both tractors look the same, just their designs and colors change. I think that is just a question of personal choice and personality because since MTD ownes (almost) all riding mowers (troybilt, craftsman, cub cadet, etc), replacement parts (atlas, mtd, cc, tb etc) look all the same in every catalogs so it's easy to change x part to another... PS note : I called Cub Cadet "Bee" and my Troy-Bilt... "Black Widow" "(^ . ^)"... I am very satisfied of my tractor and I love it... it goes with the girl I am !
I’ve used it a couple times. Been a while. If memory serves me correct you push down the lever you use for the parking brake while moving and it’ll hold that speed?
@doubleahomestead7794 correct! I only have 2 acres to cut but mine is 90% straight flat runs so I'll definitely be using it from now on now that I know how lol
I have the 42 with the stamped deck. For the money I have zero complaints. I’ve broken a few drive belts so I guess I could complain about that but still worth the money.
Hi! You made a nice video. I have an MTD tractor, also a two-cylinder, but with a Thorx engine. I am still satisfied after two years of use, but you have to think about lubricating all moving parts, and the seller did not recommend rinsing the knives with water. When water and cut grass come into contact, acid escapes, which eats away at the mowing device. I always clean it with a plastic scraper and once a year I take the scythe outside and coat everything.
I bought this model about 4 mos ago. Very happy with it, mowing 5 acres of wild grass. Handles it very well. It's in the shop now, as the oil drain plug jiggled out of the block. It looks to me that it was not properly seated in the block form the factory, as the first couple threads in the block are stripped and will not accept the male end of the drain plug. Other than that, I'm very happy with the performance.
Glad to hear you are liking it. Bummer about the plug. I suppose these things happens here and there. Always sucks to be the unfortunate one though. I was just out mowing the chest high weeds in the field yesterday. It’s so wet I can’t do it until now. It’s still going strong, I just need to throw some new blades on it. Think I’m at 80 hours of hard mowing so far
wow awesome video, this made me narrow my list down as its my 1st time purchasing a ridding lawn mower for a house I recently purchased with some land. Thanks keep up the good work
Bought an xt1 st54 used last year with a snowblower, so far it's been a mostly positive experience. The cut quality and maneuverability has been phenomenal. Only issue has been battery related, it has a tough time starting sometimes. Obviously more of an issue in the winter with the blower. But the 24hp engine and the big deck make it feel like a premium machine
Has the issue been dead battery’s like there’s a draw when it’s off? It sat in my barn all winter in Michigan and I left it hooked up and no tender. Fired right up before this video was Filmed
I have the 2022 Cub Cadet XT1 LT 50. I agree with this young man. This is a nice mower. The only thing he said wrong is when he called it a lawn tractor. It is a riding lawn mower. A riding lawn tractor is a much different beast. You can easily look it up and see the difference. Cub Cadet makes them both. I advise using the wash feature each time you mow. Wet grass can really build up under mowers. Run the mower at high speed with the deck all the way down for at least two minutes. Run it for a minute or two after you disconnect the hose. It will help to get rid of much of the water still adhering to the mower. If you wash the engine, I advise you to let the engine to cool down. Cold water on hot engines is not advisable. Properly maintain this mower and it should last you years to come. Look up maintenance in the User's Manual to see how to keep this mower in top working condition.
Thanks for the comment. I believe you are confusing lawn tractor with garden tractor. A garden tractor is certainly a different beast. However this is considered a lawn tractor. For example search for cub cadet xt1 on blains farm and fleet website and read the description. I will also paste something right from cub cadets website below. The base model of the Enduro Series, the XT1 tractors are loaded from the start-equipped for mowing, hauling and using a variety of attachments. The CC30H would be considered a riding lawn mower.
I have a XT3 with a 54" fab deck. I like real well. Cub Cadet quit making this model a year or so ago. The XT1 is the big box store offering. Light duty mower but does the job for a few years. Hard to change the drive belt and some other repairs. Not a bad mower for the price. Made by MTD Cub Cadet has been out of business since the early 80's
As you see from the video I have no complaints so far. Can’t speak on the repairs outside a couple flat tires which isn’t the tractors fault obviously. I guess time will tell where I stand on that side of things.
The only fundamental difference between the XT1 and XT2: bigger alternator, better battery, and arm rests standard. Otherwise, they’re all the same. High-end models on both XT1 and XT2 lines have locking diffs and larger wheels/tires. Engine offerings differ. All XT2s have fabricated decks and offer Kohler HD engines at 25hp for 50”/54”. I bought an LT50 a few weeks ago. Best bang for the buck. That XT3 you have was special, but at that price point the only way is Kubota.
@@klidraik it definitely seemed like the best overall option when I was researching them in July of 22. Thanks for sharing all that info as well. I do recall reading some of that last year. The locking rear diff was appealing.
@@klidraik Actually the biggest mechanical difference is the use of a bearing in the front end on XT2s ... a significant structural improvement. The highest end XT2 is a really good garden tractor.
After a year I was wondering how you like the mower . Now that we know the 7000 series engine are horrible and everyone’s mowers are going bad . Just wondering how yours is holding up
@@jamiemccann3754 I’ve had it over 2 years now. Runs great. Have had 0 issues. Original battery as well. People are having engine troubles or issues with the tractors themselves? I’ve not paid any attention due to my personal experience
It’s funny you ask that because yeah it did cost me extra lol. They didn’t have a replacement available nearby me and I was able to order it off Amazon quicker. I haven’t bothered to get the original replaced yet. I do like the black wheels better then the yellow though.
Nice review on this tractor! By the way, the manual recommends using the Kohler synthetic oil and gives a timeline between that and regular oil. What I couldn't find is what did they use from the factory. Nowhere in the manual or paperwork does it state what was used from the retailer to the consumer. Any ideas? The dipstick has that synthetic look to it...
Thank you. Unfortunately I have no idea what they put in at the factory. I do believe a lot of motors recommend using a regular oil for break in then switch to synthetic. Not sure if that is the case here or not.
68 hours, (1 yr) on my Crap Cadet XT1 LT50, So, far replaced all spindles as they had an S pattern blade that cost $50 each X 3. Replaced with star pattern and now buy better blades for $25 each. Replaced both front wheels as they would never hold air. I would fill them every 15 minutes while mowing. Need to replace the rear wheels as they do the same thing. Relaced the deck drive belt with a better belt that does not stretch and stays on for the cutting of the lawn. Now, the mower either does not do reverse, or is crawling slow. Followed instructions on TH-cam to bleed the transmission of air and that only works for about ten minutes of mowing then no reverse again. The seat sucks! Most uncomfortable seat I have ever sat in on a mower. The seat does not adjust backward enough for my 6”2” height and still it is too close the steering wheel. The seat safety turns off the engine when you lift a check to fart. My 110 pound girl friend cannot use the mower due to the seat switch will not active because she is too light. The cutting deck is never level no matter how many times I have adjusted in on a flat surface. The inch markings have no reference to the actual cut length of the grass. Grass discharge chute is too restrictive and clogs all the time. Constantly stopping, disengaging the PTO and using a rake to clear the chute. The top spindle plastic fairing does nothing but collect large amounts of grass and debris. Could have something to do with the belt constantly coming off. Although, after replace the Crap Cadet belt with a better belt, I do not seem to have that problem. This is after only 68 hours of operation.
Sorry you had so many issues. I know the frustrations when you spend your hard earned money on something and it doesn’t pan out. We’ve been lucky to have no issues outside of a couple flats. As for the height and measurements of the grass. I just did that out of curiosity to give people a reference to what kind of change I was seeing height wise by moving the deck. It sure seemed like it was really close in terms of the number on height selector and height of grass after mowing.
Glad you enjoyed it. Without watching it back, I believe that’s our ground works wagon that we got at tractor supply. I believe the capacity is around 800-1000lbs if I’m not mistaken. It was super handy around the homestead before we got our big tractor. Now it’s only used during gardening season. We have a smaller gorilla wagon that’s nice as well.
Everybody talks about all the finer points of this mower, but what do you NOT like about it, after all this time with it? Appreciate the honest answers and review.
Honestly, I don’t have a lot to say negative. The only thing that is frustrating is your knee can bump the key ever so slightly and it will turn off the mower in reverse option. I think I may just disable the safety switch so I don’t have to worry about it cutting out. No complaints though, I just fired it up 2-3 weeks ago from storage. Left the battery in mower all winter. No battery tender hooked up. No issues. I’ll pull battery to tender this winter though being year 3
I'm not sure the 46 inch has ,the 50 inch has a k 46 as I bought one he said smaller one he didn't carry because of smaller transmission from fiesti Stafford Springs ct
@@michaelnogas I looked into it a day or two ago as someone had a problem. The smaller ones have a TL-200 trans which are a weaker transmission from the reports I’ve seen. It’s been a couple years since I bought this lawn tractor but I believe that was one of the big reasons I got this one.
@@Gorilla4WD-z9u they aren’t great for pulling. But the hill it’s on parked on in the thumbnail is pretty steep and able to pull a full trailer load of wood up it. I don’t use it for that anymore having a tractor and utv now
When washing your deck out, the platform needs to be a its lowest level. That will clean it our more effectively because of the suction it creates. Have the tractor parked on pavement too.
Appreciate your comment. We don’t have any pavement. I’d have to go a half mile down the road. I’d hate to suck up all them rocks on our gravel driveway. So unfortunately I can’t do this but it’s great info and hopefully it will help somebody else out. Thanks again for sharing that.
Unplug the reverse cut off switch at back of ignition switch. This will allow you to mow in reverse without having to turn ignition switch. Cub Cadet is made by MTD i believe. MTD made my Craftsman and others.
I've noticed that every single review is positive on TH-cam. But after watching this..... even after all my friends saying Club Cadet is a trash brand, i think I'm going with this
Thanks for watching. I have no complaints with the mower still. When it comes to snowblowers though I chose the Ariens 2 stage over the Cub 3 stage. If Cub wants me to change my mind on the snowblower, they can find my email lol.
@doubleahomestead7794 i was looking at negative home depot reviews and i noticed this, and you can even see it yourself. All the John deere responses are cut and pasted "we're sorry to hear that. Call the corporate number", when all the negative club cadet reviews (which were far less even per capita) had unique hand written responses by the company
@@jaybartgis5148 that’s a good catch. Customer support is key. I’ve had some positive and negative experiences in the past. Positive experiences are worth extra $ I am yet to deal with their customer service reps so I can’t comment on how that side of things are. I will say that is fortunate for me but unfortunate I can’t offer insight in to it. Hoping to keep it to unknown lol
I have the XT1 42" model with the 18HP single cylinder Kohler engine....On my 6th season with it, no issues at all, had to replace the battery in it last year. Cuts great, and has plenty of power. I do have the snow blower for it, but don't get to use it much....124 hours on it. I am running Gator G6 blades, and I do mulch with it quite a bit.
I have the older 42" version called the ltx1040. Its 11 years old with 300+ hours on it. The motor is still fine, but the carb was recently replaced. I've replaced the belts multiple times, especially the deck belt. They just dont seem to hold up more than a season. The brakes seize up sometimes after its sat a while and those turf saver tires get near zero traction. The blade brake needs replacement now
Nice review. I have the 2015 model of the same XT1 LT50 and have been very happy with it. We're on a 1.5 acre lot, so mowing takes a little over an hour. It's just as nice for hauling smallish items around the property. We use a little dump trailer that holds 600 pounds, but I doubt it's had more than 300 in it. The LT50 has been great for moving mulch, dirt, concrete bags, etc. in the trailer. I've attached tow straps to move 10 or so cedar fence panels after someone drove/slid through our fence during a storm a few years ago. It does great with a tow-behind fertilizer spreader and a tow-behind aerator with about 150 pounds of sand bags. I picked up the snow-plow attachment earlier this year to move 20 yards of mulch to distribute around our new home. I'm sure there are much better machines for it, but it sure beat shoveling it into the dump trailer and dragging it around, which I did for the first 5 yards. I've replaced a couple spindles over the years, which are operator error issues (running over stones at our previous home and a couple small-ish stumps at our current home). It's about a 20-minute process with an air-impact wrench. It's been a nice little machine for my needs. I hope yours does what you need for many years.
It’s continued to be a solid machine. I really don’t need it much anymore outside of just mowing now. With the big tractor this one doesn’t have to be the work horse it was last fall. I did use it the other day to get through a spot in the woods as it is smaller and easier to maneuver over the UTV. Very happy with it. Glad to hear yours has been as good as it has been
May be time for an upgrade from my 15 yo JD LA115 which I just replaced the head gasket on. What was last year's price if you don't mind listing? Just trying to figure out if the current $2650 price is actually a temporary sale or if it's a prevailing ongoing sale price to make it look like it's always on sale.
Thank you! Yeah I suppose it is still the promotion period of early season (no more free dump carts though). Lowe's is running a $100 to $200 gift card promo on the John Deere mowers as well. This Cub Cadet though is clearly the better (best in my opinion) value overall right now.
@@mattb9664 I can only speak for the Cub. But I didn’t have the battery on a tender for the 2nd winter now. Couple weeks ago I went out there and fired it right up and was mowing within minutes. Of course checking fluids and air pressure etc before hand. No surging or any other issues. I do run non ethanol in it though and it has stabil in there as well.
I just bought this same lawn mower. Is there any way to drive it forward without engaging the blades. Seems I have to engage the PTO to make it move forward but then the blades spin
That little metal pull slider on the back of the mower wasn’t in the correct position so it wouldn’t move until I pushed it back in. It was in the mode where you pull it out then the wheels are in neutral and you can push it.
@@ThePatriotPirate oh yes that thing 😂😂 I always forget that’s there as I’ve only used it once or twice to move it. At least it was something small and not a mechanical issue.
@@doubleahomestead7794also, do you mind sharing your manufacturer model number? I would like to compare it to mine to make sure I have the hour meter. The website isn’t very specific.
As long as you don’t hit the button to engage the mowers in reverse which requires you to move the key back to that position, then it will stop the blades when you go in reverse.
DK WHY IN THE WORLD WE NEED A BACKUP SWITCH FOR? THAT IS CRAZY! I cut my seat kill switch off the seat. but its is nice if you fall off the mower it stops. But i'am always off and on it > moving limbs out of the way and things. It save me time and wear, of shutting down and staring back up all the freaking time
I don’t have to get off the mower much when pto is engaged so it doesn’t bother me too much. But I can certainly see the annoyance if I had to in order to move limbs etc.
When you get off the machine with it running set the parking brake and it'll stay running...the only time it'll kill the engine even with the parking brake set is if you get off it with the mower engaged.
@@wildbill23c No! With the seat plug in> IT ALWAYS SHUT OFF! When you get off the seat. EVEN IF YOU HIT A BUMP, AND IT make you JUMP UP. So i unplug the dam seat
@@426superbee4 LOL, no it don't shut off if you set the parking brake. The only time it shuts off with the parking brake set and you get off the seat is if the mower deck is engaged, every lawn tractor is that way and has been for about 25 years.

It’s a MTD with Cub Cadet color and badging. Stamped decks are horrible, the spindles are garbage. You can’t grease them unless you put a grease fittings in them. The best thing you have is the Kohler 7000 model engine and it’s not great. Maintenance is key. Be gentle and do preventative maintenance constantly and it will last you. If you don’t keep the blades sharp you’ll be replacing blades, belts and spindles. Good luck.
Can you explain the mass of amount of grass on top of your mower deck.. it almost seems like there's a vacuum problem with a deck design.. are you sure the vacuum is sucking your lawn up and cutting it completely.. or could it be that it's such a terrible design that you get tons of grass on top of your mower deck.. if you mow your lawn 1 inch high it isn't as bad but nobody's going to do that.. 3 to 4 in is what we mow our lawn at and it is a terrible mess because of this deck design
@@timr31908 I cannot Explain this as I do not know the science of how a mower works and why grass gets on top. My best guess is that I also use this to mow 3-4 foot tall weeds etc and that the side chute obviously gets stuck up allowing a lot of it to blow back on top of the deck. I do not believe under normal homeowner conditions that this would be a thing.
I love mine, but the only, complaint is that the AGM battery didn’t last, so far in less than a year i have replace it once, i wish i could used a lead acid battery in it, the space is much smaller and AGM battery cost more , just a poor design
Understandable. Something to consider is a battery tender. Unfortunately that means you will have to be near an outlet where you store it otherwise you could pull the battery and leave it on the tender all winter.

I was one of those kids who was playing around the mower as my dad hit reverse. He backed over me and nearly took my leg off but the doctors in the 70s saved it. It appears from the sticker that it's a common accident but I've never heard of anyone else getting injured. I wonder it there's a support group?
If you are serious then truly sorry that happened. I’m assuming you have a sense of humor so I’ll include the following. The reason why stamped decks are thinner metal is that most of these companies don't have a big or powerful enough press to stamp thicker metal. John Deere's plant in Horicon, Wisconsin has a powerful press where they can stamped thicker metal in their commercial decks. Keep in mind there are drawbacks to fabricated decks, first is there are areas where grass can build up quicker since there is no rounder corners which will shred grass a bit easier. The more grass sticks to the 90 degree areas where the welds are, more corrosion will occur. Second, fabricated decks usually have thinner metal on top and thicker metal on the edges since they can't use one gauge of metal. A stamp deck that was pressed in the stronger presses has thicker metal all over the deck.

Appreciate your opinion. I don’t have time to detail the lawn mower after every use. Of course I do proper maintenance on all of my equipment, but I have more important things I need to do. Making a homestead from scratch takes all of my time so when I research things I make sure they are going to last and stand up to the use that I need out of them. For me, it’s just a gravel driveway and some grass that when broken down gives back to the ecosystem. After the first rain you would never know that took place. Or just do it in the grass.
Cub Cadet is pure JUNK no matter what model you buy , buyer's beware you will definitely have transmission problems and if you bought one with a Kohler Courage engine be prepared for a cracked block or oil pissing out. Pure junk!!!
I find the front grill/motor cover design to be incredibly overcomplicated and unattractive. It's giving Dodge Ram / Storm Trooper energy. I don't need my riding mower to be a statement of fragile masculinity. Just keep it simple. That's all a man needs.
What residential lawn mower do you suggest then? I’ve had no issues with the Cub a year in today now.
I had the same tire problem on the rear. Could see the cords on the inside of the tire. They wanted me to send to crap cadet so they could look at them. So how do u cut grass. I'm not paying the money to ship them anywhere. I can go on and on and the mower had 15 hrs. To bad for that junk. I sold it and bought a grass hopper and it's lovely. Diesel engine and all. It will last the rest of my life. Little secret. Pay cash and what a amazing discount. That is a real mower. Probably one of the best on the market today I looked at the top 5.
when you are in the highest level of mowing you leave to many dandylion heads standing, completely unacceptable to me. I just bought a cub cadet 46 i nch cut this year. I have used craftsman for years and had good luck with them, but since Sears went belly up I had to find a mower with good ratings to buy
Lowe’s carry’s the craftsman brand now. I did a lot of research before buying and it seemed like this was the way to go. If your experience is like mine, you won’t regret it.
Never had a guy in Bib Overalls and Boots steer me wrong. Thanks for the great video review.
😂😂😂 that’s hilarious. Glad it was helpful.
Engaging your PTO at a lower throttle setting and revving it up after it is engaged will save you a lot of belt issues in the future.
Thanks for the feedback. I know that’s how it’s done on a normal tractor. I feel I should start the PTO at a higher rpm though then where I had it the one time that it bogged down. I tried it that low to avoid the noise from being an issue at the beginning part of that.
@@doubleahomestead7794 Fair enough. I appreciate the video and the response.
@@unti419 and thank you for your comment. I’m going to look more into what you said in regards to the lawn tractor as well.
Excellent review Andrew. The XT1 seems to be a great machine for the money. Hard to find reliable reviews on lawn tractors.

Thank you very much Eli. We definitely enjoy your channel as well with your knowledge in crafting. God bless
My 50 is 4 years old never a problem! Hard to slow it down!
I believe u have tuff torque 200 transmission instead of k46 tuff torque like lt1 50 has
I'm experiencing this same problem right now with only 25 hours on the mower luckily it's on warranty but it should have not failed I'm worried about this
Now have 48 hours and all is good. Transmission #4 is working great. They did stand behind it with warranty bearing the costs. Be sure you use an authorized repair facility. Good luck!
I bought a 1984 782 d diesel cub cadet it is a great running mower i love it
Those old machines just won’t die. Love it.
I just purchased this mower for my homestead which is on a hill which this mower takes care of that without issue.
Great straight forward video! 😊
@@joplin777 thank you
I had this mower for 2 years now with no issues.
Just the other day, i picked up the owners manual and learned it has cruise control. 😅
I’ve used it a couple times. Been a while. If memory serves me correct you push down the lever you use for the parking brake while moving and it’ll hold that speed?
@doubleahomestead7794 correct! I only have 2 acres to cut but mine is 90% straight flat runs so I'll definitely be using it from now on now that I know how lol
that was a cool drone view 👍
Thank you sir. It was a windy day so that’s why it was moving around a little bit. Hoping to include more drone footage in the future.
bought this model few months ago and love it!!!! i cut a large church property and the mower just eats up the grass....wish the fuel tank was bigger
Do run out of fuel quicker then I’d like but I agree, it’s been a great machine for us.
I have the 42 with the stamped deck. For the money I have zero complaints. I’ve broken a few drive belts so I guess I could complain about that but still worth the money.
Glad it’s working well for you
@@MySvestka thank you very much for the kind words and information.
Thanks keep up the good work
Thank you very much for the kind words. Enjoy your new house and property. Especially the new riding lawn mower.
Bought mine through an online sale about 4 years ago. Has been absolutely problem free. (Regular maintenance)
When in the wash cycle lower the deck, it really makes a difference
I saw someone else mention that as well. If I had a cement driveway I think I’d feel more comfortable doing that
Bought an xt1 st54 used last year with a snowblower, so far it's been a mostly positive experience.
Fired right up before this video was

People are having engine troubles or issues with the tractors themselves? I’ve not paid any attention due to my personal experience
Did you pay extra for the one yellow wheel? 😀

It sure seemed like it was really close in terms of the number on height selector and height of grass after mowing.
which star pattern spindles did you buy? I need to see if they fit my LT46
I see u didn't buy from a dealer or they would straightened out I believe

super helpful review, thank you. where did you get that wagon attachment? love how big it is.
No issues. I’ll pull battery to tender this winter though being year 3
Great review the one u have i think has k 46 tuff torque transmission and the pto , im getting closer to buying
Thank you! I believe you are correct. It’s been a while
Since I was looking into it as deep as you are. But that sounds really familiar.

I’d say it’s perfect. Seeing some recent comments go with the 50” as it comes with the better trans

Positive experiences are worth extra $

The blade brake needs replacement now
I liked your practical use video. Very helpful.
Thank you very much. And thank you for watching.
Glad to hear yours has been as good as it has been
Your bed can get bumped and the height of cut can become off or unlevel from the rest of the tractor and the ground.
Thanks
Thank you , is it to read the fuel level for this LT50 Thanks
Yes it is. The tank isn’t see thru but you can see the fuel level if you shake the mower
$2755.99 in July of 2022. With everything going up in price I would assume that it’s a legit temp sale.
Hope that helps.
That doesn’t make any sense. Shouldn’t have to engage the pto to move. Return it to the place you bought it and let them deal with it
That little metal pull slider on the back of the mower wasn’t in the correct position so it wouldn’t move until I pushed it back in. It was in the mode where you pull it out then the wheels are in neutral and you can push it.
@@ThePatriotPirate oh yes that thing 😂😂 I always forget that’s there as I’ve only used it once or twice to move it. At least it was something small and not a mechanical issue.

Thanks for the tip.
@@timr31908 I cannot
Explain this as I do not know the science of how a mower works and why grass gets on top. My best guess is that I also use this to mow 3-4 foot tall weeds etc and that the side chute obviously gets stuck up allowing a lot of it to blow back on top of the deck.
I do not believe under normal homeowner conditions that this would be a thing.
Where’s your bumper?

I love mine, but the only, complaint is that the AGM battery didn’t last, so far in less than a year i have replace it once, i wish i could used a lead acid battery in it, the space is much smaller and AGM battery cost more , just a poor design
Understandable. Something to consider is a battery tender. Unfortunately that means you will have to be near an outlet where you store it otherwise you could pull the battery and leave it on the tender all winter.
@@doubleahomestead7794
Please keep in mind the battery has a 12 month warranty from Cub Cadet, if it goes bad , they will ship u a new one , after that is ur problem lol
I bought this same mower and as of May 23 . 24 with only 35.8 hours on it the transmission failed and they want 1000 plus labor for repairs . .
I'm not happy about this
No warranty?
Type that into Amazon. I did a quick search. It’s $750 but the trans is a tuff torq. I’m trying to do some more research. While doing my research it did seem this is the Achilles heal of the entire mower but so far so good for me.
If mine fails I have nothing to lose but to take it apart and see if I can repair it. Unless Cub wants to help me out but you know how that goes.
If I find another trans I’ll let you know
CUB CADET 918-07207A Transmission Assembly Enduro XT1 XT2 LT LX 42 46 50 Tractor
@@RJJackson09 luckily it's still under warranty .
You have the XT1 LT50?
Just did a little bit more research. Mind has the Tuff torq k46 supposedly.
Then the smaller decks may have the TL-200 which is a weaker trans.
I thought I had read a couple years ago guys were putting a slightly beefier tuff torq on theirs.
I hope this info helps and sorry you are having issues. Please update us if you find a solution that’s cheaper
@@doubleahomestead7794 I like to know what failed in the transmission .
It shouldn't have failed at 35.8 hours .
As for the support group you could always start one titled “my dad ran over me with the lawn mower so now we all have to deal with these reverse safety features, but at least we are”
@@doubleahomestead7794 Yes, I am serious. I was only 4 and still remember a lot about the accident. It didn't impair my life at all. I went on to do 20+ years of military service and compete in several marathons. My dad felt guilty about it for a long time but I tried to reassure him that it was an accident and I was fine. It's funny to talk about now and that is a great name for a support group... 🤪
Love it.
I love you.
Hahahahahahahaahahah
Then you better be subscribed, otherwise I don’t believe you.
I don't like the cuts My pony cuts beautiful on #3 I also like the foot operated Viable Speeds that the pony has Or hand set speeds is nice to
I can't bring myself to buy a new rider. I bought my 8n and finish mower for less than the big riding mower. Most riders are made by the same manufacturer and parts interchange.
I bought my Cub cadet in 2022 after one season it still works but I call it yellow poop
What issues are you having with it? Assuming you’ve had issues as you call it poop lol.
I'm just not happy with the quality of cut compared to my 1967 gravely that I've had for over 20 years
@@timr31908 that’s fair.
Be careful when you get off the mower because you're Nee will hit the throttle and busted it off real cheap plastic made. you can bypass the backup switch just Google it the backups switch just makes it more like a piece of s***to deal with deal
So far it doesn’t bother me too much. But I may look into it
The reason why stamped decks are thinner metal is that most of these companies don't have a big or powerful enough press to stamp thicker metal.
Interesting info. Thanks for sharing.
don't buy a cub cadet mower 48 hours on my cub cadet ., Called and they told me it was under warranty coil went out They sent me to a certified repair shop and gave me a claim number but then cub cadet refused to pay 50 dollars and they refused to pay . i even took a pic of the hours on my mower CUSTOMER CARE SUCKS WITH CUB CADET . MY NEIGHBOR HAS THE SAME MOWER SAME PROBLEM AND THEY REFUSED TO PAY FOR HIS REPAIR ALSO LESS THAN 38 HOURS ON HIS WHEN COIL WENT OUT . a coil come on cub cadet honor your warranty or you will loose more customers
Obviously I can’t help you as I’m just a guy making a video about my experience with mine. But how old is yours and what model? I’ve got the Kohler in mine. I think I have around 60 on it now and still no issues.
@@doubleahomestead7794 x 2 v twin kohler engine and it is new since only 48 hours on it
Anyone OWN one of these Tractors , what's your experience looking at one now at HomeDepot
@@aronp713 they have them at a lot of stores. Mine came from tractor supply. But I always liked Home Depot.
The one in the video is still going strong. Could probably use some new blades as I basically use it as a brush hog also 😂
@@doubleahomestead7794 just ordered a Continental replacement battery. I’m cranking one up this weekend. I purchased it from my cousin. It’s not a brand new one, but it’s used and hopefully this thing is amazing. Thank you so much for your response.
John deere good
My 2011 has been a real P. O. S.
Sorry to hear that. Just curious as 12 years for a lawn tractor is a good amount of time. What all has gone wrong with it
Need to drop the deck all the way down.
What? It was at one point. Need some more context with your comment 🤷🏻♂️
@@doubleahomestead7794 Sorry I meant you need to make sure the deck is all the way down when using the deck wash. I have seen other you tube videos that showed it didn't work very well until the deck was dropped. Then it made a world of difference. I liked this video.. I just purchased one of these and this video helped me to decide, thank you.
@@mikebarron8702 that makes sense. I don’t have a great spot to try that at. Dropping it all the way on the gravel driveway doesn’t seem like
The best option for me. But I can certainly see why that would help. Maybe I’ll have to find a way to try that. Thank you.
I prefer a Jon Deere any day over a Cub Cadet AKA Murray !
Right on. I think just about every piece of equipment I own is a different manufacturer.
Me after watching any of your videos 14:47
China motors !
What a mess ! can't do that where you wouldn't have to clean up right have to do it old school don't like water with plastic wheel bearings a bad mix in less you let it cool down completely never want to induce water with a hot environment with components that can't handle it I personally would avoid as much water as possible this is a lazy mans way of cleaning your deck if you have the money to throw away fo for it if not stick to traditional ways of cleaning your deck
When should I expect these issues to begin?
I find the front grill/motor cover design to be incredibly overcomplicated and unattractive. It's giving Dodge Ram / Storm Trooper energy. I don't need my riding mower to be a statement of fragile masculinity. Just keep it simple. That's all a man needs.
Cub cadet is junk and there warranty is a joke.
What residential lawn mower do you suggest then?
I’ve had no issues with the Cub a year in today now. I’ve used it to mow what you would normally use a brush hog for (weeds 4-6 ft tall) and I’ve used it for my lawn. I used it to go through the trails in the woods and pull our wagon with people or wood.
So far I’m yet to experience any issues.
I paid full price for the mower and have had 0 interaction with the company so I’m just giving you my personal experience with it. I have no skin in the game if you buy this, a toro, or any other manufacturers product.
Curious to hear what brand you think I should of gone with. And thanks for the feedback, any and all is always appreciated.
@@doubleahomestead7794 I think Kevin had a bad experience with Cub Cadet. I have the same mower (bought in 2020). No problems here. I have only used synthetic oil and have done basic maintenance. I’m @ 60-70 hours with a 1.5 acre mow. I change the blades 2X in the mowing season. Watching your view from above, I might have splurged on ZT2 - zero turn.
@@slipperyblueclay2521 there isn’t a ton of land to mow. And we have trails that go through the woods where a zero turn wouldn’t of been a good fit. With the mower I can still pull a gorilla cart style wagon through there with wood or whatever I need it for.
Plus I have plans to just get a 6’ rotary for the tractor we picked up a couple months ago and I knew that was in the future when we bought this one.
Glad to hear you haven’t had any issues. Ours is still going strong too.
