I always say a harvest is a good harvest
Hello friends,
My name is Alicia, and my husband's name is Andrew. Can you guess how we came up with the name double a homestead? I'll give you a hint... Alicia & Andrew is a good start! Anyways let's get into it shall we. During the pandemic we discovered our love for gardening. We always had a small garden, but it really flourished during this time. We wished and thought of ways how we could make this dream of ours a reality. For about a year we talked about how we can go about this and decided to sell our house in the city and find a place we could call our own and flourish building our paradise or homestead as some might call it. Here we are now loving what we do and bringing that content to you along the way. It's not always easy but we love it here and hope you can watch us grow week by week!
have an amazing day and let your light shine

How to Make Cat Condos
Hello friends welcome to the channel. Happy to have you here.
Today I am doing a simple tutorial on how to make cat condos for outdoor cats, barn cats and feral cats to hopefully keep them warmer and safer this winter.
With just a few things that you most likely have around your house you can make some too and I'm sure your furry friends will thank you for it.
Thanks for watching and we always appreciate you

Did you splitter leak a little bit of oil the first time you used it where the hydraulic pole goes into?
@@ignaciorivas4712 I do not believe so. Did you crack open the breather which is that butterfly nut I believe. That could cause excess pressure.
@ yes it was open it leaked once never did again. Not sure if it was from lubricating itself from the shaft
I did
@@ignaciorivas4712 that is possible. To be honest I split enough wood in the summer of 23 I haven’t split any since. We heat only with wood. I’ll have to break it out again in the spring of 25. But I do not recall it leaking any fluid. My apologies I cannot be of more help

Thank you for this video! I just took delivery of my first ever snowblower and used my Deluxe 30 3 times between last week and this week in the White Mountains area of New Hampshire. It was excellent having you go over everything slowly and I learned a lot!
Your bed can get bumped and the height of cut can become off or unlevel from the rest of the tractor and the ground.
God damn how is this not viral?
How is it in green ash?
@@captainpegs07 all of the Ash trees in Michigan are dead from the emerald ash borer many years ago. The ash trees are now to a point a few fall over every year in a wind storm. Got some big ones I’m waiting to fall. Works good on that wood but I can’t give feedback on a live healthy ash tree sorry. I’ve ran a lot of green wood through though and it did great. Cherry, maple, oak, birch, cottonwood, I’m sure there’s others.
Can you explain the mass of amount of grass on top of your mower deck.. it almost seems like there's a vacuum problem with a deck design.. are you sure the vacuum is sucking your lawn up and cutting it completely.. or could it be that it's such a terrible design that you get tons of grass on top of your mower deck.. if you mow your lawn 1 inch high it isn't as bad but nobody's going to do that.. 3 to 4 in is what we mow our lawn at and it is a terrible mess because of this deck design
@@timr31908 I cannot Explain this as I do not know the science of how a mower works and why grass gets on top. My best guess is that I also use this to mow 3-4 foot tall weeds etc and that the side chute obviously gets stuck up allowing a lot of it to blow back on top of the deck. I do not believe under normal homeowner conditions that this would be a thing.
Try living in. Western NY with your lake effect. We get 48” of snow overnight doesn’t even make the local news
@@ocsplc we used to get a lot more snow. Last winter (I think I made this video then) I only used the snowblower for one week. Idk what’s going on but the winters are certainly getting more mild as the time goes by.
Awwwwww!! They are so cute And smart ❤
@@SAJOMENEZ they most certainly are. Makes it hard to use the tractor though. Constantly looking for them as they jump into my freshly dug holes
You’re bringing up the good bugs my friend. Smart chicken.
@@1NationMediaUS they know when the red tractor fires up, some fresh ground will be available soon
This is actually completely normal. Especially when they first start to lay. This doesn't hurt the chicken
Yes, it’s quite common. Mainly with our isa browns. The other breeds only laid a couple of them.

Oh yeah I'm getting one...thanks, one box of wood from the feed store just changed into 2!
@@Theremnant1 it’s been solid for me. Idk how many cords of wood I’ve ran through it now
Great straight forward video! 😊
@@joplin777 thank you
Most of my rounds are at the biggest 16 inch or under and cut in 15 inch in length. So I’m splitting 80 percent 12 inches by a length of 15 inches. Mostly oak and ash. I use about 3 cords per year. Speed is not a factor. I was looking at the 10 ton model, but have seen a lot of people using the 7 ton. What do you think?
@@DanielL-ty6pf this thing hasn’t let me down. It’s only stopped on me on a few logs but they had nasty knots. Come back to them a month later and they split. Think I’ve ran about 6 cord through it.
I'm soon installing aggressive atv tires on mine, it should be able to pull easier with more grip. the stock tires are garbage on grass they just slip
@@Gorilla4WD-z9u they aren’t great for pulling. But the hill it’s on parked on in the thumbnail is pretty steep and able to pull a full trailer load of wood up it. I don’t use it for that anymore having a tractor and utv now

After a year I was wondering how you like the mower . Now that we know the 7000 series engine are horrible and everyone’s mowers are going bad . Just wondering how yours is holding up
@@jamiemccann3754 I’ve had it over 2 years now. Runs great. Have had 0 issues. Original battery as well. People are having engine troubles or issues with the tractors themselves? I’ve not paid any attention due to my personal experience
Mine the transmission went out after 66 hours, not a good mover for the money .The AGM batter is too weak too
@@vafafarzaneh4815 a weak battery wouldn’t even be a thought when purchasing but that is a bummer about the trans. Which model do you have? I picked this specific one in part for the transmission in it.
@@doubleahomestead7794 It was XT1 enduro 50” with Fab deck , by now i have replace the AGM battery 2 different time
@@vafafarzaneh4815 that’s a bummer. I don’t have the enduro series. Maybe there is a difference. I’ve had this for two years now. Never hooked to a tender and I’m in Michigan where we get some cold winters. Original battery. I’ll hook to tender this year
@@doubleahomestead7794 My old Cub cadet lasted me 14 years, and still did well, they get cheaper every year, they even say some of the transmission used to be made out aluminum but they are plastic now, I hope urs is the good once, good luck, the AGM battery is so small, u cant even use a regular size batter due to lack of space, but u have been very luck, take care
U should make a longer video. I would enjoy watching that mower eat through it.
@@leo959 if I don’t get this brush hog rebuilt for my tractor then I will next year. Our property gets so wet I have to wait until the weeds are this tall to mow trails through my hunting area. 💜the ducks!
I bought a huge 2024 (March 13) Troy-Bilt Super Bronco 50K XP, serie 7000 Kohler, 24 HP (725 cc) black and dark grey three weeks ago and honestly, excluding some 3-4 things, both tractors look the same, just their designs and colors change. I think that is just a question of personal choice and personality because since MTD ownes (almost) all riding mowers (troybilt, craftsman, cub cadet, etc), replacement parts (atlas, mtd, cc, tb etc) look all the same in every catalogs so it's easy to change x part to another... PS note : I called Cub Cadet "Bee" and my Troy-Bilt... "Black Widow" "(^ . ^)"... I am very satisfied of my tractor and I love it... it goes with the girl I am !
Hi! You made a nice video. I have an MTD tractor, also a two-cylinder, but with a Thorx engine. I am still satisfied after two years of use, but you have to think about lubricating all moving parts, and the seller did not recommend rinsing the knives with water. When water and cut grass come into contact, acid escapes, which eats away at the mowing device. I always clean it with a plastic scraper and once a year I take the scythe outside and coat everything.
@@MySvestka thank you very much for the kind words and information.
Scamazon used to be mostly OK stuff, now it's a real gamble. Wish and Temu have had an influence if I had to guess. I like the idea, something unusual.

John deere good
I have heard the pinion gears are fragile and the steel stamping is too thin and to work on Cadets is extremely hard.
Bought mine through an online sale about 4 years ago. Has been absolutely problem free. (Regular maintenance)
I bought this model about 4 mos ago. Very happy with it, mowing 5 acres of wild grass. Handles it very well. It's in the shop now, as the oil drain plug jiggled out of the block. It looks to me that it was not properly seated in the block form the factory, as the first couple threads in the block are stripped and will not accept the male end of the drain plug. Other than that, I'm very happy with the performance.
Glad to hear you are liking it. Bummer about the plug. I suppose these things happens here and there. Always sucks to be the unfortunate one though. I was just out mowing the chest high weeds in the field yesterday. It’s so wet I can’t do it until now. It’s still going strong, I just need to throw some new blades on it. Think I’m at 80 hours of hard mowing so far
When in the wash cycle lower the deck, it really makes a difference
I saw someone else mention that as well. If I had a cement driveway I think I’d feel more comfortable doing that
