Thanks for the tip, I looked it up online and allot of people went both ways and several people said their Kubota dealers use Teflon, I do know it can gunk up the system, but anything applied without care can. I did get some goop and just put it on so hopefully that seals it up.
I have a smaller hydro shift, this is what I have done with it so far, I weighed out eh pros and cons of both and I chose the lesser price and more power with the shuttle. I am also still adjusting to it but thank you for the comment.
as a millwright for 45 years never use teflon tape on hydraulics, pieces can contaminate entire hyd, system.

For the type of work you are doing on your property you really should have got a hydrostat transmission instead of the shuttle shift
