    I have braces I've been mewing so hard for the last 3 months I fall asleep and wake up mewing. I've noticed that my Jaw and Maxila are much bigger. I am also doing the same daily workouts that I've been doing forever and I've finally started to see exponential growth. Ik for a fact that it's because I can now breathe 100x better.

    You are very knowledgeable, thankyou. I am currently using a homeoblock and my palate is expanding quickly. I am expanding 1mm every 4 days and my palate and teeth do not hurt. Now knowing that 50 is impressive in this day and age this is what I will aim for

      What is a homeoblock? How did you discover it and where did you get yours?

    • @David-fv2hj
      @David-fv2hj 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A homeoblock is basically a removable retainer that you can expand laterally.
      You are supposed to wear it at just at night but I have been wearing it all day.
      I have just had it repaired and am dedicated to expanding my palate.
      I should receive max expansion end of next month.
      Will do a reddit post since i have a before dental impression. I will then get a post dental impression and include photos and measurements.
      My starting intermolar width is 36mm.
      My goal is 50mm

    Thanks for the very informative video and sharing your insights. I’m 19 and have been a mouth breather since a child due to allergies which resulted in a narrow palate which then made mouth breathing unavoidable especially at night. I got a MSE expander few weeks ago and currently expanding from 39.9 mm to around 50 mm. Breathing through my nose is now like an open window and it’s life changing.

      @@allsleepashleySince my mid palatal suture maturation stage was in-between Stages B and C, it was assumed that I would be a perfect candidate for Rapid Maxillary Expansion with an MSE device. It took around 11 days to get the coveted diastema.

      @@allsleepashley I've also started wearing a protraction face mask that is attached to the hooks of the MSE. Facemask used alongside MSE is a promising treatment modality for sagittal (forward) orthodontic expansion in adults. Since the facemask elastics is attached to the MSE device, the forces are bone borne which means no pressure on the teeths.

    Do you have an tips on how to drink liquids properly? For example if I want to drink from a cup or water bottle, what should I do with my look, teeth, and tongue? Thank you very much and I hope you have a good one.

    • @allsleepashley
      @allsleepashley  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The tongue will gather the liquid in the center inverted cave, press the edges of the tongue to the roof of the mouth, initiate a wave movement to move the liquid from the tip of your tongue to your throat. Lips are sealed, cheeks will press in as liquid is pushed backward in order to manage pressure, and will then relax as later stages of the swallow occur. Back teeth (molars) will gently touch down the tongue presses up to create the movement wave.

      @@primalpem This is likely connected to a rotation of the mandible and hyoid as well. You can train the tongue to be more symmetrical with exercises. I have an extremely narrow palate (I think) but I measured it twice with different methods and the width is approximately 40 mm? How is this possible? Am I doing something wrong? I had my mother measure from the gums with a line of floss which we then cut and measured. I measured after with a ruler myself. Both times it came down to about 40 mm. I am very confused and feel fraudulent somehow?

    • @allsleepashley
      @allsleepashley  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      40 mm is not nearly as narrow as many of the palates I see clinically. Do you have symptoms related to having a narrow palate? Sleep issues? Breathing issues? Musculoskeletal issues?

    • @a.2647
      @a.2647 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@allsleepashley Yes, I have nearly all of symptoms. Overall I have a terribly weak chin and have been a mouth breather my entire life due to medical complications during infancy. I've been involved in myofunctional therapy for a while now and have even consulted various orthodontists on the topic, so I am certain these issues apply to me. However, I was worried my palate was too narrow for me to work on it without an expander. Now, I am confused. But it isn't unusual to have these symptoms with a ±40 mm palate? Thank you so much for taking the time to respond and offer your knowledge.

    • @allsleepashley
      @allsleepashley  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@a.2647 Remember that the number range listed above is not concrete. That's like saying everyone should have the same size feet :). It's not necessarily unusual to have the symptoms with a palate width of your size, but it is not the only factor to consider as a culprit of your symptoms. Your ability to nasal breathe, the size of your nasal cavity, your tongue posture, etc. should all be considered, among other things. I'd be happy to chat with you on Zoom for a free consultation if you think I may be of help. You can find me at sommerspt.com.

      @@sunlight5106 Bone adapts to small amounts of pressure over long periods of time. We know this about bone. If you are consistent with tongue to palate posture (from front of tongue to back of tongue), it has the potential to widen your palate over a very long period of time (years). If this was changed during childhood, then palate width would likely increase much faster.
