thanks! I'm sure I recommended the gimbal mode on almost every movement. The push in and pull out I said something about locking the gimbal (all lock) but this is flexible because it doesn't always work well for a few reasons, so I just leave it at PF most of the time unless locking all the axis can let me achieve better results
Hi, you are welcome! Well it depends what I'm trying to achieve or record. I try to use autofocus if possible, but sometimes I'll set it to manual if I know the focus can jump from one subject to another
hi! as far as I know there is no way to make that happen. It appears that some Panasonic cameras are compatible with that feature by connecting the camera to the gimbal.
Hi Otto nice Video, i chose to buy the dji rs 3 mini, i have the sony alpha IV too , can u please make a video about camera filming settings normal mode 25 frames and slow mo thank u a lot !
I have plans to make more videos for these combo (A74 and RS3 mini) but not sure for when exactly, April is already fully scheduled and I'm going to be out for a few days on May
@@OttoJulian_thank you ! When you say all lock is pushing the lock button? Does that should lock all the axis? I tried on mine and it looks like the camera still moving ? Tilt lock is the same PF ? I could not find a tilt lock mode.
Hi Julian , in the orbit shot mode , i can't keep the subject I'm shooting centered, when you rotate the subject do you look at the LCD monitor or do you look at the subject? thank you bye
Hey Otto I just found your channel after buying my RS3 last week. You’ve helped me so much. I wanted to know if you’d be able to share with us your actual camera settings when filming these shots you shared today? What’s your fps or do you do that stuff in post?
It depends on the situation. If there is a clear subject I prefer autofocus. If there are going to be things in the way where the autofocus will shift then I use manual focus or I set the focus speed to a low value
Do all these movements require Slowmotion? . As I saw all the footages shown in this video is Slowmo. And my camera (A6400) doesn't even have 4K Slowmotion
@@OttoJulian_ I will practice. Infact I bought my RS3 Mini yesterday. Sold my old Ronin SC. I believe this one will be more stable. Btw is it even possible to do an walking Orbit in 24fps provided my camera and lens both do not have IBIS

Thanks a lot for a great tutorial. I had a question on the lock mode. When in PF mode i press and hold the trigger but the gimbal does pan slightly. Is this something you witnessed and is it normal? Also when holding the trigger it gives me an option to tap the screen to lock it. What is the difference. Thanks
the option to lock it is so you don't have to keep pressing the trigger yourself. The slight panning even when it's locked it's supposed to be normal on every gimbal, They tend to drift, I thought this was a user error many years ago but I've never had a gimbal that will stay perfectly centered. If it drifts too much then it's not normal.
hi, there is a learning curve that comes with this but I think this one is great, great size and features. I will have a review very soon and I'll touch on those points (how good is it for beginners)
Very helpful videos! Without your videos i almost sent my gimbal back since i didn’t know how to use it 😅🌟 The handle that you are using to get better lower positions, any brand/model you can recommend? I noticed that DJI have their own, but it’s pretty expensive.
hi! I thought I replied to this already! I have been using the one from smallrig. Neewer also has one that I was about to buy as well, they are not as expensive as the one from DJI
most likely excessive weight on the lens. Make sure it's correctly balanced. You can watch my beginner tutorial where I explain how to balance it correctly

Thank you very much, what a good video.
A query, does this Ronin have an active track?
no it doesn't, but I read something that it can work with some Panasonic cameras
Good video but I am wondering what mode would I be in for each movement? Example the push/pull should I be in PF mode?
thanks! I'm sure I recommended the gimbal mode on almost every movement. Hi Julian , very complimenti for your video ! One question , how it should be set the "Deadband" ? Many thanks
For these gimbals I honestly leave them at their default setting.
Hey Otto, Thanks for the pointers on the various movements. Do you typically use the auto focus mode on your camera during these gimbal moves?
Hi, you are welcome! Well it depends what I'm trying to achieve or record. I try to use autofocus if possible, but sometimes I'll set it to manual if I know the focus can jump from one subject to another
Thank you for the video. Does this stabilizer have an active tracking function?
hi, no it doesn't
Thanks Otto, great job!

Which mode should be the gimbal for the push in and pullout ?
Usually all lock, but depending on a few factors sometimes I prefer to use Tilt Lock/Pan Follow
@@OttoJulian_thank you ! When you say all lock is pushing the lock button? Does that should lock all the axis? I tried on mine and it looks like the camera still moving ? Tilt lock is the same PF ? I could not find a tilt lock mode.
@rodrigoavanse1502 yes sorry. Different brands use slightly different names and I can’t remember which is which. PF = Tilt locked.
@rodrigoavanse1502 all lock can be set by holding down the trigger

Hello, i just had my s3 mini. I tried to lock mode, but the axis pa is still moving. Would it be totally locked at all?
should be locked unless you are force changing the direction with your hand
Ні! Thanks for your video. Can you answer when I push in or push out which settings should I choose? Pf or another?
hi! Yeah PF if you want to be able to micro adjust, otherwise All Lock, but I prefer to use this when the distance is short.
Thanks 🙏 @@OttoJulian_
