    Having the scroll whell on the gimball set to TILT is really helpful. Much easier than always having to hit the joystick perfectly straight in order for it to not pan while you only want to tilt.

    What a great tutorial ! , you cover a few little things that the other tutorials leave out. They just happen to be the essential (little) things that have made all the difference and mean that I am now 100% set up and even passed the gimbals own checks with a 3 x excellent ! I will be using this new tool in a new music video, a huge thanks from The Southern Electric.

    • @Jason_Hermann
      @Jason_Hermann  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question and I didn't do anything in particular other than have my light at a 45 degree angle from me. If you have the light to much in front it will reflect, so from where I am sitting the light is to the right about 3 feet and back about 3 feet as well. I also have it raised up a little so the bottom of the softbox is about neck height and it's aiming downward a little.

    Great tutorial! Is there a way you can lock the pan axis so that it doesn't move when you are trying to do an orbit around someone/ something? I know that you can deactivate the pan motor but then the camera remains facing the front. I want the camera to turn as I turn my wrist and just have the gimbal maintain a level horizon.With the pan motor active, it never keeps a smooth movement as you rotate the gimbal leading to jerky looking pans.

    • @Jason_Hermann
      @Jason_Hermann  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I not that good at doing orbits, but the gimbal can be configured a ton of ways along with the sensitivity. I think it's just a matter of tons of practice. You can use the Gimbal in the three different modes or lock mode, so I'm not sure if it will do what you are asking honestly?

    • @Jason_Hermann
      @Jason_Hermann  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you , and that might be pushing it depending on how fast you want to move the gimbal around. It's payload max is 4.4 pounds and vertical is a little harder for the gimbal I feel like, but I'm not 100% sure about that... I would recommend the the RS3 2 if you want to be covered 100% geni.us/hVWA

    Process question: If you're an experienced videographer with the funds, do you rebalance your gimbal everytime you change lens (seems like you might miss shots since it takes time)? Or do you just buy gimabls for each camera/lens combo and balance before you got out?

    • @Jason_Hermann
      @Jason_Hermann  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I only use the gimbal for specific use cases most of the time and I use prime lenses mostly as well. So Yes, if I change lenses I will re balance, but if the lens is close in size and weight it only takes about 30seconds for me to rebalance. If it is a significantly different size lens it takes a bit longer to balance. If you are using a zoom lens you can zoom a decent amount without re-balancing and you should balance at the center of the zoom range you plan on using. Heavier duty gimbals will allow for more weight change without a re-balance as well.

      Yes in these weird scenerios, you will need to add a counter weight of some sort to help balance the gimbal. I have never had to do this myself, but I have seen people do this with special set-ups.

    Thank you for sharing this! I almost purchased the RSC2 based on your video from 3 years ago. But I decided to go with the RS3 instead. Since this tutorial is for the mini, Can I use this tutorial to balance the full size Ronin RS3? The video DJI has for it isn’t as thorough and detailed as yours.

    • @Jason_Hermann
      @Jason_Hermann  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah it is basically the same concept, but you might have to do it a little different depending on the arm layout. Just remember to lock the motors and do them one at a time in order 1, 2, 3, and you should be fine!

      @@Jason_HermannYou’re a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you so much. I followed your exact steps and I finally got it balanced! Although I did find some nuances with the balancing part through the app. The balance test in the app doesn’t go through the same cycle as in your video. Instead it just takes me to DJI video clips showing virtual steps to balance each part of the gimbal. Nevertheless, I think I got it done. You’re very much appreciated! Thank you again!

    Hey bro, is it possible to use focus motor on this device? And one more thing, for instance if I use zv-1 camera, is it possible to zoom in/out by gimbal?

      Sorry, but the ZV-1 is not listed as a compatible camera with this gimbal... See here: www.dji.com/support/compatibility? I'm also not sure about focus motors with this "Mini" model, because it is not coming up as an option in the accessories for this gimbal... The RS3 Pro for example has the focus rig attachment stuff as options....

    Can you also slide off the axis that it’s attached to the handgrip? That way it’ll be even easier to dissemble it and transport in my backpack. Idk why they haven’t thought about this. They’d just need to put the same system they used for the vertical axis, that little locking button. It would be so convenient but I’m pretty sure there must be a way to take that out.

    • @Jason_Hermann
      @Jason_Hermann  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No I do not. That lens is just to big and heavy for this gimbal in my opinion. You might be able to balance it, but it will be pushing the motors to hard also and will probably result in poor performance.

    Hi Jason. How are you? Hope you're fine. I've got this gimbal recently. I have Sony a7 iv with kit lens. I am trying to zoom in and zoom out with dial, dial function was set zoom, but it did not work on this lens and I got a warning like 'it is not available with this lens'. then I change dial function as shutter speed, it did not work too. Am I doing something wrong ?

    • @Jason_Hermann
      @Jason_Hermann  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Doing more advanced functions is tricky and usually requires a combination of cables and camera settings. By the way, which kit lens are you talking about, because non of them for the A7IV I know of have a power zoom option? For the record all I use is the bluetooth shutter and record options, because when cables are used it locks down some of the camera functions..
