  • This is a class for cosmetologists, beauty school students, salon professionals and barbers to learn more about haircolor ingredients, and how they work, peroxide and gray. How color adheres to proteins. Learn about how permanent haircolor works, and how it is an oxidative tint, and how it is mixed with peroxide developer and it starts to oxidize, and keeps oxidizing on a hair strand. The cuticle layer of the hair that is similar to the snakeskin opens up for the haircolor by the alkaline agent. Max explains the alkalinity factor and the amount of the ammonia in the color: learn about the importance of the processing time of the haircolor. Never take off the haircolor early, otherwise it will fade. Learn what else will fade the haircolor. Learn how the clients are in the salon and have no time for their color to process. Use a timer to help keep the processing time accurate. This video is funny and educational. The progressive colors will get darker and darker as they stay on hair longer; how that could be corrected. There are 3 main ingredients; alkaline agent, protein and pigment. The haircolor 20 years ago is different than nowadays; the technology has changed from a large molecule to a smaller one. Learn about the difference supermarket box color and the professional haircolor and the amount of ammonia content. What difference does the ammonia content make on the hair integrity and haircolor. What is the right amount of ammonia in haircolor? If the color is ammonia free, what is replacing the ammonia with; the most harmful chemical for the hair; hazardous toxin called MEA: monoethylanomine, that does not have a fragrance, but causes many health problems (Max, 2014). MEA: to smell or not to smell? What's more damaging to the hair, ammonia or MEA? Learn about the porosity and how to do good hair. Learn about Hydrogen Peroxide Volume and gray coverage. Learn about developer and how to use it based on the hair texture. Hydrogen Peroxide is acidic on the pH scale. What's the difference from 5 volume, 10 volume, 20 volume and 130 volume peroxide. What's the comparable of the peroxide volume in U.S. and the percentage measurement of the peroxide in Europe. What happens if your peroxide bottle stays open; do you loose its strength. What's the difference between the semi-permanent, demi-permanent, and permanent haircolor. Can you have semi, demi, and permanent haircolor in one haircolor. Demi-permanet and semi-permanent colors do not enter the cuticle layer of the hair. Guest artist: Max, video by BeautyHealthTravel Channel

    I love to teach hair color. Max, the way you teach is spot on! You're not only extremely knowledgeable, you're funny and your illustrations are absolutely perfect! I'm glad I stumbled into you here on TH-cam. I'll be meeting a local rep next Monday to go over your color line. I'm pretty sure I'll be bringing into my dispensary.

    i don't need to lift a 3n so if you have a professional developer 10 percent can definitely open up the cuticle especially on the newgrowth closest to the scalp where uts warm.

    Honestly, it's not that hard to learn, I don't understand why many girls working at the salon don't know this. I am sure they are taught all this, since hair color has been around for so long, so they are just lazy. And I stopped going to my hair colorist because I seemed to know more about hair & color than her but didn't want to be rude to her, she would have told me anyway that she is the pro and knows better, and I didn't take hair color classes, I work in a totally different domain. They really have no excuse today, why don't they get it if they want to make a living out of hair just be constantly learning, not lazy azzes. what's so hard to look at the wheel and do some additions/subtractions?

      Just wanted to let you know that not every school teaches this. Actually, most focus on getting their students to pass the state board exam. Most students will learn working in the salon. Just the way it is and has been. You have some really passionate individuals who really love what they do and want to learn everything and anything about color, and unfortunately there are some people just not cut out for this business.

    • @cecilitaf
      @cecilitaf 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Maybe you are good understanding this, but for me as a cosmetology student with a chemistry background, this is hard to understand! Some teachers tell you do one thing and others tell you don't do it! Or teachers themselves don't know it! I get frustrated, but lazy, that I am not. If you are better than your hairdresser, by all means DIY:)

    • @craftycowgirl800
      @craftycowgirl800 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      My instructors don't even understand that hair is dead and can't heal itself. It's extremely frustrating. I almost dropped out because I am not learning a single thing from them and have to do chemical services the way they instruct me to and not the proper way to do it. Continuing education is the only way to learn as a hair stylist and sadly there is a lot of misinformation.
