  • Must see! This is a class for salon professionals, cosmetologists, beauty school students, and barbers to learn more about salon business, and what percent of the hairdressers make the top dollars in the beauty industry and why. Learn how to do good hair. Education is the key. Haircolor formulation must be accurate, otherwise they would not come out the same, or they will fade faster. Mixing correctly will make a big difference in client's hair. Hairdressers, learn how to communicate with client; what to talk about and what not to talk about. How to do business with the clients; do discounts work? Learn How to up your quality of service and higher your expectation. Learn about what work to chose: to rent or to work for a commission. Set your goals. Successful hairdressers and hair colorists continually educate themselves because the color technology changes all the time. Learn how to color going darker on the light hair. Fun education. Learn from Max what is necessary to successfully darken the lighter hair. Learn how haircolor adheres to protein. Learn how to use filler. When coloring hair with very porous hair, you have to persuade the client to cut the spongy porous hair. Does one-step-dye-back work? In dying hair to darker, there are no quick fixes; you must follow the steps to color bleached hair darker. Learn how lightened hair going darker needs to be filled with warm shades first, before you cover it with the dark color that you are aiming for. To make brown you need all 3 primary colors. Guest artist: Max, video by BeautyHealthTravel Channel.

This is a Teacher, a real good teacher. A teacher who will teach you lessons that you won't find in a book college book. This is a lesson taught from a chapter of a person's life. Everyone in this class got years of knowledge of life as a hair dresser. What makes this video special is it's brutally honest, and a "waker-upper." 20% of those successful hairdressers come from being passionate about appearance and hair and the changes you can make from it, who loved it more than a hobby but as a career.

Thanks so much. As a retired professional its good to hear the emphasis on "professionalism" - a fading aspect of our industry. Bravo.

My hair is thick, curly and waist length. I have white/grey roots. Cos of the Lockdown -I am actually ..RELIEVED...to not go back to my Hairdresser - she is just not interested and in doing a good job and messed up my hair three times. ( Yeah -I felt sorry for her- cos she was going thro a divorce and expressed it in her job. ) !?!
I have decided to buy my haircolour online and a.... second attempt...after my strand tests...WILL BE ..MUCH BETTER than a NUMBER of Hairdressers AND Hairdresser MANAGERS.... that really messed up my hair !!?!?!
I....COMPLETELY...LOOOOVE YOU, MAX !!!! cos you are SOOO IN LOVE WITH YOUR JOB !!!
I am learning SOOO MUCH FROM YOU !! I am BINGE WATCHIN, BABYYYY !?!?!XXXXX ;)))

I used to LOVE CLAIR-FILL® by Clairol I would sometimes mix Red & Gold and Condition* Beauty Pack (For Protein) and apply to the hair dry over any over-lightened, over-porous areas before re-coloring it worked great. And I just pulled the color down over the mixture (without rinsing) after retouching the roots and processed for the remaining time - the other stylists used to tell me I took too long but the results were worth it, my clients STAYED 'Color Fresh' for weeks longer and got lots of complements on their color.

so he recommends applying the filler and then wiping it off before applying the dye? you don't need to wash the filler out first?
love this guy sooo, glad I found his lectures!

If I could find a stylist with this kind of passion and know-how, I would go to a salon, no questions asked. When I moved across the country, I said goodbye to the only hair stylist that was good (amazing in fact). Bad hairdressers are what has killed the desire to go to a salon, and its sad.
If anyone has any recommendations for Montreal I would love to hear them plz!

I was accepted to a university but hair has always been my passion. I so badly would like to go to a beauty school but I know that now-a days people are coloring at home and learning so many tips and tricks. So I have been reserved about following through with it. Because if I go and get my license and be the best I can be, how do I know anyone will come in when everyone is doing it at home?

court thetattooedlady you won't be able to rely on walk-ins for color. A lot will come in for haircuts, and that's a perfect opportunity to get them into hair color. Get them talking about it. It becomes an honest conversation, talk to your guest about how haircoloring works. Get them away from the box be that professional!! Don't be hindered because people started doing their own hair. Trust me they will want it corrected!

Lovely education. But the stories about the lazy stylists. I wouldn't hire staff who are ignorant to education or are lazy..nor want that working under my names..It's important to protect your reputation and have a good house of hair stylists!🤗
