    That is actually quite an innovative solid connection, well done! The kit without the torch is affordable too, ready for future wiring jobs. Go Danni, go go go, Danni be Goode 😂

    Another great vlog Even though it was a simple fix, it would be a daunting task for some. You showed just how easy a small but important repair can be. It would be interesting if you could have the job quoted on by a service centre and see how much you saved your mum.

      Thanks Henry! Yeah it’s probably an hour or so labour for them so maybe £150 with the parts

      I can comment on this, as yesterday I had my nearside rear cluster repaired. A few years ago the offside cluster failed in a similar way, so it’s a common problem - apparently due to the earth wire not being up to the job. I had the offside fixed at the dealer, which cost an eye-watering £273 back in 2017. Yesterday, I had the nearside fixed at a local garage for £90. I just asked them to run a new earth wire and replace the failed bulbs. I was happier with a “dirtier” fix as I’m not planning on keeping the car for much longer now. But, it’s possible the dirty reoair will work better in the long term as when Audi fixed the offside cluster they replaced it with parts that will hit the same problem later anyway.
      I could’ve done the repair myself in hindsight, but I wasn’t 100% sure it was the same failure at the time. I had the usual telltale signs of the car warning me that the nearside rear lights were failing. First the side light, then the brake light, then later the indicator and reversing light. Additionally though, and this was the thing that made me wonder if it was a different failure, was that every time I touched the brake pedal, the reversing chime would sound and the car thought it was being placed in reverse. This was disconcerting to say the least!
      It all turned out to be the same problem, the burnt out ground pin on the connector.

    The main benefit of these connectors is soldering for those who can't solder.

      @DanniandJoe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely makes it easier if you can’t solder!

    how do you know what wire goes where?

    • @DanniandJoe
      @DanniandJoe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The plug is stamped with the numbers 1-6 which is handy otherwise I wouldn’t have a clue!

    The coloured rings are hot melt glue to seal the ends.

  • @sandosblk

    Hey bro, how do you Know which color correspond to be connected with?

    • @DanniandJoe
      @DanniandJoe  ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s little numbers stamped into the holder so just go with one at a time starting at one and it should make sense 🙂

    u should redo that ground from that melted connector to car body , then main reason it's that the oem ground it's too weak to keep up

      This video isn’t for everyone, it’s a very specific problem & titled as so. Unfortunately TH-cam revenue doesn’t pay the bills
