The 12.9 inch M1 iPad Pro from Apple and the 12.4 inch Galaxy Tab S7+ from Samsung are 2 of the best tablets out right now. One of the main reasons I’m drawn to a tablet is… you know, for the nice big screen. When I’m working off my phone, because it’s relatively small, I don’t expect to use more than one or maybe two apps at a time. Now with the larger workspace on tablets though, it’s not that crazy to expect better productivity. Today, I wanted to do a comparison between these two to see what they both have to offer in terms of multitasking, aka how they handle running more than one app at a time.

      @@androidonly4388 Samsung does not have that big of a share in the laptop and computer market as opposed to apple. Ipad is an ipad, apple always wants their devices to have difference, ipad is an ipad, laptop is a laptop, so its impossible that they will try to put features that may take away some customers from their other product. Remember that apple has a different ecosystem while samsung has a lot of competition to windows, chromebook, and android space. People go to apple because of the software integration, and so does people who chose android to but the difference is that there are a lot of varieties available in android thats why you need to think of something to make your device unique while apple is alone in their ecosystem so why do they need to compete with their other devices? Tbh, not only for samsung but also for other manufacturers, they put so much feature on their product that its already losing other products uniqueness and identity. manufacturers also tend to put half baked features that you better not use because its so laggy and unpolished, of course samsung is different, they are ahead in the tablet space if were talking about android but I think they still need to work on their optimization and chipset.

    I really appreciate how Samsung has been putting so much effort to make good Android tablets when Google has pretty much given up and focuses on Chrome OS, in which I think it does not do much more than an Android tablet. Even with the upcoming Android 12L update, I doubt if there will be an increasing number of app developers to optimize their apps for larger screens. But I do hope they will.
    iOS is very fluid but sometimes the apps do not behave how I want them to. For example, I tried to upload a bunch of photos to Onedrive on my iPad mini 6 and switched to another app while it was still in progress. The upload actually stopped so it simply cannot do it in the background. The same thing happened to Lightroom as well. I tried to export some photos and I had to wait until it was completed before switching to another app.
    On android, the above two apps can do those things in the background and progress bar is shown on the notificaton.

I use my Note as my external Drive as well to keep all my information with me day to day. I purchased the larger tab because I was greedy and wanted the space. The aspect ratio means I can stream Sling and TH-cam flawlessly in full screen with minimal black bars (unlike iPad), so it's a mini 4K TV.
      The 1080p Webcam is in the correct (landscape) position - unlike iPad - and the mics are good, so it's great for Zoom/Skype/Streamyard.
      I mostly keep it in DeX mode, as I prefer that mode for productivity, and the "windows" can quickly & easily be resized using your finger, the trackpad, or the included S-pen. Can't do any of that on an iPad. 😁
      I took it to my friend's house so that we could try editing a couple of his DJI Osmo Action cam videos in PowerDirector (the basic version is free on Android 🤗).
      We didn't get too far - we both need to watch some PD tutorials, LOL - but he was impressed with the S7+ display, speakers, Webcam/mics, and the fact that it has a micro-SD card slot for easy video file transfers.
      Honestly, I only use my MacBook now for desktop Excel (I work in finance), and for things like taxes, where I prefer a taller landscape display than the S7+ offers.

    Well done 👍🏻

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      Yes it makes me really sad how Samsung (and most other non-Apple brands) just plain don't seem to care about animations. Then if you use an iPad and a Galaxy Tab side by side, the iPad feels extremely smoother even if it isn't, just because of those great 120Hz animations. The OneUI on the galaxy tab just teleports stuff around without animations at all which feels really clunky, or if it has animations they are really unpolished and most of the times are just too fast you barely notice them exist or worse, they stutter. It's really sad because it makes a device much more pleasing to use

      Actually if you go into developer mode settings you can change the speed of the animation. Either turn them off completely or make them up to 10x longer. Not sure why you'd want them to take 10x longer to finish but hey, whatever you like lmao. Though I have to say I'm personally not bothered about animation, some people even just disable them. For split screen and pop-up view on the tab, you can also just hold the app on the recents menu and drag it to the side (split screen) and in the middle (pop up)

    Big fan of the Galaxy Tabs.
    They offer so much more functionality and features I'm interested in than the iPad without a hampered OS that can only download software from a single source.
    And for anyone like myself trying to avoid rewarding companies that use forced labor in their supply chain, it's pretty much a no brainer between these two.
    Great content, Thao.

    • @samuelmanny6231
      @samuelmanny6231 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ahmedalsadi0010 just get a macbook or mac mini...or even 2nd hand macbook. Apple wants its users to use iPad as iPad...using its touch display. It just happens that samsung tablets are 16:9 aspect ratio...same as external monitors

    • @Quiselott
      @Quiselott 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@samuelmanny6231 that's not exactly why Dex works. The tablet is 16:10 monitors 16:9. Samsung actually put some thought into Dex it's not just screen mirroring. For example I can use my phone for Dex on my monitors (again a different ratio) but at the same time be doing something different on my phone than I am doing on the Dex display. I can also do this wired or wirelessly. Dex is basically a virtual desktop that operates 90% separately from whatever device is running it. That other 10% comes into play when you want to use multiple instances of the same app, both on the phones display and on the monitor's display. Dex will prompt you to restart the app on the different display when switching over. I'm pretty certain Apple just doesn't want to cut into that juicy MacBook Air money, they have the talent and resources to make it happen.
