So I just move from M2 Ipad Pro 11 inch to Galaxy Tab S9. I think I more prefer Galaxy Tab S9 than iPad Pro due to 1st, it has SD card. It also has dex mode that work really well with CSP and Infinite Painter. If you dont have money, you can use Krita with is free and open source.I even practice drawing while playing Blue Archieve and its work really well. Really Really well. With theri Dynamic 2x Amoled they now have variable refresh rate like iPad Pro. The only drawback is apps developer really like apple than android
What are your thoughts about the tab S9 so far? I just ordered it (550$ with keyboard cover). My main concern is the lack of architecture work apps. (I've seen in TH-cam most architects use ipad). As a desktop PC user, I need a device that allows me to bring the ideas to the clients, and decided to get the S9 over a cheap notebook. Also I will be able to take notes and pictures in the protect places. Hope you can give your feedback ✌🏼
I was waiting for a video like this, thanks!
This is a great review! Thank you for making an informative video. -Kay
GREAT video love the detail and specifics conerning apps and conectivity🎉
Wow, Clip Studio Paint has finally given us a tablet mode!!! It was about time ;)
Very good video and very appreciated!
Good video, mate.
Btw. The Second Screen feature on the Galaxy Tab S9 gives you the option to turn on S Pen support. By default, it's off. But can be turned on.
Thanks. I did not know that
@@teohontech7141 We learn every day! If you press Windows Key + K once you connect the galaxy tab to the windows pc, you can toggle on the "Allow mouse, keyboard, touch, and pen input from this device".
Awesome video.
What is the peak brightness Samsung s9 ultra can go while playing HDR content??
WoW, amazing video, help me so much! Thanks again.
i appreciate this review, i went from the s8+ to the base s9 simply for the increased portability. I hated that every bag had to be a backpack if i wanted to take my tablet out for a day of drawing vs just a small sling bag.
Hi, quick question, can you use regular s9 with one hand in bed (watching content or Reading) ,? i use my Surface go 2 like that but is heavy and with one hand it is not confortable.
@@abeld94one hand, huh....🤔🤔🤔

Great tab comparison!!!Im still using my old tab s4 with clip studio paint to create digital art...Maybe it is time for an upgrade for me
I use an a Ipad 12.9. If I'll transfer files to my windows and back via local Home Wifi by the VCL media player. It's easy to connect and can transfer large files quickly.
Using a USB Flash with a type A and C connector works well too.
For small files I use both the ICloud Drive and Google Drive. I open my ICloud account by Internet Browser in my Windows computer.
Hi! Thank you SO much for the review, it sure does help a lot 🥰
But about processors, how many layers can you get with ipad/tab s9 without lag? I usually work with a lot, so it'd be nice to know what I'm signing up for 😅
I’ve never tested the limit on number of layers till the tablet lags. Anyway, nowadays the high end tablets are powerful so lag while drawing is rare, even for mid range tablets
Hey thanks for the good video ,just a question did u face any lag ir performance issues on Samsung tablets?
Thanks for the nice video.
Could you add comment to the external monitor.
Is that one running at 4k with 60Hz?
4K 60hz
Very useful review . İ wonder to how i connect a tab s9 with pen feauters as second screen to my windows computer and i get it from here. Thanks
The iPad pro 11 2022 Uses Temporal Dithering For Producing more colours, It Something Like PWM, I Can't use it more than 10 min and make my eyes so painful and get headache.
Simple s9 plus 512gb does the same thing for less and came with the pen so u could spend money on the keyboard instead in the long run s9 plus is cheaper. I only compare the two 512 gb model. 12.9 m2 vs 12.4 s9plus. Ipad user spend more money for bragging right. Math ipad 12.9 m2 no pen $1500, apple pen $129, keyboard $200. S9 plus came with pen same 512gb $1000 with keyboard $150 plus app about $100 so about $1250. Samsung $1250 vs Apple $ 1829. I included the Samsung app because I am apple user and I already paid the apple app.
Samsung DEX on all tablets. That means it literally converts itself into a computer/PC like OS when required. This is a great feature.
name of the app to trasnfer files for windows ipad os mac os.....sendanywhere
Amazing video although Timestamps would have been more helpful but the video is still gold
Thanks. I forgot to create that
what drawing apps are you using on ipad pro which has hovering feature that you showed in the video?
Procreate.
As someone who does alot of architectural stuff line PDF which ine handles then drawing better
Feem is a good app for data transfer between ipad and windows.
Hi sorry I cannot find any name of the apps for drawing that you use, could you please drop down the names? Thank you
Infinite Painter, Medibang, Concepts
My S9 Ultra is fantastic... perfect for painting and netflix. :)
Hello, does the screen shows vblack at night? Or does ir glow blue like LCD ipads?
it is amoled so it will be pure black like Samsung S series handphone@@fapstronaut3671
As someone who used the tab s8, I will say that even though I used a glove with it, the palm rejection was very very bad. The iPad palm rejection is a lot better. As well as Clip Studio on the Tab S8, it always crashes every time I use the lasso tool.
What do you mean by bad? It is very weird that palm rejection can be bad when you're wearing a glove.
@@teohontech7141 I mainly use Clip Studio, and even with the palm rejection setting turned on, it would still detect my hand when resting on the screen and drawing. I tested it with the S Pen that comes w/ the tablet, as well as the Wacom One pen. Same thing happened in Nomad Sculpt. I tried updating everything, reset everything, same results. This was just my experience however, so maybe I got a lemon lol. I haven't had this happen on my iPad however!
@@Phantraas You mean your palm will draw lines? Or your palm will activate gestures accidentally?
@@teohontech7141 Activate Gestures sadly. I'd rather it draw lines lol
Should I go for samsung tab s9+ with a wacom one pen since the nibs wear out or try to push my budget and buy an ipad pro 11 or maybe ipad air 5? I wanna use it as long as possible in the future and I don't have an apple eco-system would that be a problem for me in the future? I do graphic design and digital art and I've never used an apple device before but everyone says procreate and adobe apps are efficiently better
If you do graphic design and use apps that require layout, typography and vector, go with iPad. For drawing, you can go with either tablet.
How is the brightness of the tab s9 plus\ultra compare to the iPad Pro 12.9, is there a noticeable difference in sdr or hdr videos/
El brillo y el hdr del iPad es mejor ya que la tecnología mini led a mi vista es mucho mejor
The Tab S9 Ultra goes up to 950 nits in outdoor use with automatic brightness, 700-800 for the Tab S9+, the iPad Pro M1/M2 12.9'' (the brightest iPad) goes up to 600 nits in the same conditions, it uses its 1600 nits only in HDR, the Tab S9 in HDR go up to around 1300 nits.
@@rolins3279 i dont think that one of the tabs goes up to 700 - 800 in sdr video..and the ipad can maintain 1000 nits for hdr and get peaks of 1600 in some areas in the screen
@@danielperez3044 You can search on TH-cam, there are several tests that prove it, the Tab S9 go up to 900 nits in automatic brightness.
And that's what I said, the 12.9" iPads only go up to 1600 nits in HDR mode, otherwise, their maximum automatic brightness is 600 nits.
The real difference being that, the Galaxy Tab are able to maintain their maximum auto brightness and HDR much longer thanks to their cooling system.
What do you think of Huawei’s tablet?I used to use Huawei matepad pro 10.8 2019edition.Earlier this year I switched my tablets and I now use a tab s8+
Huawei tablets have good hardware. But harmonyOS is limiting for those who need Google services
I absolutely agree with you.Although I live in china now,but I still use some apps that need google services.@@teohontech7141
Hi thanks for the great video, I'm trying to decide between a galaxy s9 plus and a Microsoft surface pro 9. I use windows for my other work. I want to draw and also do some vector design, which would you recommend? Oh also want to be mobile.
It comes down to what kind of vector design because there aren't many good vector design apps on Android.
@@teohontech7141 I guess some some basic design work for t-shirts etc. , I use the adobe suite on my main computer so would be ideal if I could do some basic concepts while out and about and then move over to my other system to work in them which was why I was thinking about the surface but perhaps I should look into the ipad pro rather? I also want to just do freestyle painting /sketching.
@@marcelduvenage3289 iPad will have those vector apps that handle typography, layout and design.Only vector app that's worth checking out on Android is Vector Ink. You can use their web version to see whether it's good enough for your work. It's a subscription based app though. vectorink.io
@@teohontech7141 awesome thanks so much, I'll check it out
I just wish the android devices had a few pro apps or even cut down versions that I could use as a sketchpad and move over to my other system. I really love the galaxy tabs..
I want to buy an ipad but it's making me on and off since I know it can bend from a normal usage after some months. For how long do you have your ipad pro? Is it still straight or slightly bend? Many says ipad pro is easily bending. I mean if this is a matter, it would be pain in the ass that you have to 'baby' it everytime you handle it or bring it to travel with you. Please give me an insight about this. Thank You so much for the content :))
The iPad is not going to bend unless you bend it forcefully.
Android infinite design and Concepts are also vector graphic apps. Krita can also create a vector layer and be saved in SVG file. Please compare the latency of samsung PENUP(fastest android drawing app) with procreate (fastest of all drawing apps).
They still aren’t Affinity designer though, or anything coming close. It’s really the only art related gap android has.
Infinite design and Concepts are as good as Affinity designer, while the vector graphics created by Krita or clip studio layer are still pixellated when enlarged.Try it yourself.
@@skyrock7359They most definitely are not comparable to Affinity. Typography, vector tools, history, symbols, etc.
14:11 Good video production. Goodwill feedback - eliminate the use of fingers from each hand to do the quotation mark in speech as it carries a negative connotation typically used in Asian sarcasm which reduced the viewership on your future videos which adversely impact your profits and charity donations.
Do apple pens have the advantage when sculpting... because those motions wear out the tip more differently than wacom/cintiq style drawing. Also wondering how noticeable the Samsung's tactile screen resistance adds to hand fatigue?
I don't think there will be hand fatigue since the effort used is not different from writing with actual pen and pencil. Not sure about sculpting though or the apps available.
Samsung’s spen comes straight out the box and Apple’s is sold differently. Also remember that
@@Jay-zd7lt That has nothing to do with my question about hand fatigue... but thanks for the heads up lol
considering you can get replacement tips for both apple and Samsung, wear isn’t a super big concern. Dunno about tactile screen resistance because when I tested it at a store I couldn’t feel it. But if it is noticeable you could get a cheap drawing glove. It makes any tablet surface smooth as butter
I always wonder about saturation on the AMOLED screens of Samsung. In the past I decided in favour of an M1 IPad against the S8+ because I found the saturation on the S8+ a bit unnatrual. Does the S9+ fare better in that regard, or are the colours a bit over-saturated when compared to the S9?
You can choose Natural colour mode instead of Vivid
Thank you for the reply @@teohontech7141 . The S8+ also had natural mode, I still found it somewhat strange, though perhaps that is very subjective and some may prefer it over the Ipad. Anyway great review as always!
@@dragoonguard6504OLED colours are going to look different (can't say better or worse) compared to LCD. I still prefer LCDs actually because LCD looks better at low brightness.
Hey everyone,
I'm in the market for a high-performance tablet that can stay relevant for 5-6 years. Currently, I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, but I'm also considering the iPad Pro 12.9, Tab S9 Ultra, and Galaxy Book 3 360. Which one would you recommend for the best performance and longevity
They will all last for many years. I'm still using the 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 and it still works fast and well. The three products you mentioned are more powerful than my 2018 model so they will last for many more years
I'm thinking of getting the Tab S9 after my iPad Pro 2016 became laggy, so this review helps me a lot. I'm using the Edge browser's Drop feature to send files between my iPad and Windows.
Ok bot
What mouse device you were using?
Logitech Lift
Thank you@@teohontech7141
How to clear layer in CSP simple mode on my tab s7 fe? 😩 All i have is delete layer (which deletes it ofc) and hide layer (which hides it). Others seem to have it but i don't see any clear layer option in simple mode :( the app is fully updated and i have the pro subscription
I don’t see the clear layer feature in Simple Mode too
@@teohontech7141 in android as well as ipad?
Does the S9 drop brightness when it’s working hard? Recently switched to an m2 12.9 iPad Pro, upgraded from the gen1 12.9. Brightness constantly drops to 80 or 60% even with auto brightness turned off. Gen1 never did that. As Clip Studio is my workhorse app I’m now looking at the S9
I work as an illustrator on my Tab S7+, never had that problem so I assume the S9 also doesn't have that problem
EDIT: ClipStudio is also my workhorse
Why does for me that both Samsung Tab and iPad screen have different color temperatures? Does it mean affect the color richness and will be noticeable for illustration & design?
They use different calibration standards. Anyway, you can adjust the colour temperature with a colour wheel that's provided in the settings.
Hey man, I wonder if you could try testing drawing on any app while having youtube running in PiP mode, just to see how long you can keep drawing in such state until OneUI tells you that the tablet is running too hot & TH-cam needs to be closed.
My normal Tab S8 couldnt keep up with Infinite Painter + TH-cam PiP for more than 15-30 minutes at A3 canvas. My iPad Pro M1 cannot do PiP, but opening it sidebyside with Procreate at 1:2 ratio, it never crashed even after 2 hours
Tab S9U's 14" screen is nice, but if it isnt consistent in multitasking performance, it's just an oversized tablet. Your answer may determine my purchasing decision.
did you but something?
Wow tab s8 had overheating issues due to its infamous processor. But they claimed to have patched it out with the new update. Is your tab s8 still heating up? I might not buy it if it is. Do you have a case on that is perhaps not allowing the heat to escape? Your answer would be pretty helpful.
@@bereal8253 i do have a case. itend to take it out when drawing. also, Tab S8 doesnt use Exynox. theyre all SD 8 gen 1.
i havent yet tried drawing with TH-cam in PiP after the update. will let you know in a couple of days
@@geneoakley Yup the SD8 Gen1 was pretty infamous in phones for overheating. But i just checked out the recent benchmarks and Samsung have reduced performance of the chip slightly to keep temperature down in tablets, they've pretty much fixed the issue.
Thanks for getting back to me btw, i appreciate it! I'll be looking forward to your results.
@@bereal8253 hey.
Ive been drawing in Infinite Painter(unlocked ver.) With TH-cam playing in PiP at a corner for 1~2 hours recently, & OneUI no longer shuts TH-cam down because of heat.
I have the 1st gen iPad Pro 12.9" and i find it a little too small. If apple make the screen larger i would upgrade... I mainly live in the vector world so the iPad is a must for me with fresco/designer & Illustrator. I dont know how well Concepts exports vectors though so that might be the only good Android option?
Concepts is more of a drawing/sketching app that happens to use vector. It's not a vector app for graphic design work. It's possible to export PDF with all the paths and millions of points which you can imagine is not really easy to edit.
For vector work, it will come down to whether you need to use a pen, because otherwise you can just use Adobe Illustrator or Affinity Designer on a laptop/computer.
iPad Pro 12.9 inch still feels like a tablet. I've the Tab S9 Ultra and that feels more like a laptop than a tablet.
I think at this point, Android with the most recent Snapdragon chips, etc, is far better than the I0S at this stage. I have the Samsung S8+ and would recommend them for your next tablet purchase.
has usado ipad pro?
Hey is your tab s8+ overheating? Another commenter mentioned this as well, it used to heat up a lot but samsung claimed to have fixed it with the new update. So i wanna know if yours is still overheating. TIA
Regardless of display quality, I just bought the ipad 11 pro 22, and the display shows blacks very blueish, at night the whole displays glows it's actually very bad, I had my huawei phone from 2019 and it has oled display which shows blacks as black at night is amoled on samsung the same? Im actually very disappointed with ipads.
Really wish the Samsung tabs had 'fatter' aspect ratios. So much better for drawing imo.
I agree. That's why I keep using my Tab S3 for drawing, the last one with 4:3 aspect ratio.
And for note-taking. And for weight balance. And for portrait mode in general. Even 3:2 would be much better, but they don't seem to get it.
@@tonihott2 I used to have one. I miss it!
@mstuart8097 yup, agree with all of that.
This ratio is better for media consumption, and samsung tabs are primarily created for that purpose.
I wish they had a variant or something with a fatter ratio for artists. But that doesn't sound like it would have a huge market..
It seems that wider tablets are better for artists such as the iPads and the Samsung are better for note taking imo, always nice to have both
Also longer tablets are better for clip studio paint in desktop mode
Samsung Tab is better.
Dude why are you using DamonPS2 when Aethersx2 is available
Lol I didn’t even notice that.
seems to me like the interface/size of letters is just a setting that needs to be changed on the drawing app for the samsung. it's an unfair comparison if the interfaces ain't the same sizes
You usually cannot change the UI size on iPads and Android tablets. If UI is small, the button will be around the same size on 11, 12 or 14 inch tablets.
There is never a fair comparison when comparing tablets
@@teohontech7141 I'm using a 3d program called nomad sculpt. Available for android and ipad. You may wanna use that then to compare it for future video's, there you can easily scale the user interface.

Having the two of them... with Apple you got to pay extra and way too much for: The Pen (not included), pencil hover "novelty" (with Samsung has been present for years), extra RAM, extra storage, good quality sound, 120Hz, brighter screen, etc. Moreover, the Apple pencil sucks (Come on, 130 bucks for outdated technology? It has been untouched for more than 4 years now) and is so unconfortable to use, give it a try to the S pen and you will never look back at the Apple pencil. Apple Notes is trash if you are a serious note-taker (writing two words on a screen does not account as serious note-taking). Please guys, be exigent, you are giving them your hard-earned money, and being fanboys is just stupid. Samsung is improving year after year, Apple has been in a confort zone for years now, our fault.
Why does the ipad screens look as if they have a laminated screen on top while samsungs looks flush with the chassie and nicer
Maybe he has a screen protector on it since it's his daily driver.
Only 4 years of support on the s9 ultra. Apple supports their products for longer. Samsung needs to do better.
Just because you don't get Samsung UI updates does not mean your apps will stop running, or you can no longer install new apps.
For for Apple, you need those updates or you can't install new apps that require those updates.
I still have a tab s2. It is about 8 years old and still working fine. Also amoled display. The only issue is that sometimes i find a new app that is too advanced and therefore cannot be installed.
I have the tab s8 and it's way better than the iPad pro

@RealPlatoishere at least with the tab 6 lite (2018) I got, it can't run games well, but it still holds up well for drawing. probably the same for ipads
I prefer iPad by a long shot
Nah.
I would never buy an Ipad. It useless for productivity.
@@GBamaBoy. I wouldn’t use a tablet for productivity. But for graphic creations
I'm a Samsung user. My phone is always Samsung. Right now it's 23Ultra. I also been using Samsung tablets since beginning. I used to have the original Tab 7, 7 inch model. Then 2014 10.7" tablet then S4, which i'm still using. They're very good tablets. Very capable in doing it's job.
But, now I've been using an IPad 12.9" 2020 model during the pandemic. It's really a game changer to me. For me it's the great amount very good Art App on Apple that wins me over. Procreate is great, but to me ArtStudio Pro is real work horse. It practically has all the tools, features and brushes of an full PhotoShop app, but with a better easy to use interface like Procreate. It runs better than PS or Frescoe app and is not as cluttered as CSP.
One of the reasons I like Windows and Android is it's customizability and the many available choices. Unfortunately, Android tablets such thing is not the case. Plus the Apple Pen2 feels great in the hand, the Samsung one felt too light for me. I'm glad that there are more Apps into the Android eco. Gives me more room to choose.
For now doing Artwork stuff, it's all on my IPad 12.9. My Samsung S4 tablet I use for watching YT and Movies. Phone is the S23 Ultra. Plus a very basic Windows computer with PS. Somehow I got to work them together quite well. I on the fence whether to trade my S4 for an S9+ this year.
for digital art ipad pro + Procreate is the best
So witch is better
Game and netflix not work
Both are good
galaxy tabs got better aspect ratios for gaming and movies imo, but if they don't bother you I don't think you can go wrong with either
Nothing abkut the 12gb ram & 16gb ram version. 🫤
