I love how they all completely overlooked the fact that Shane was in a completely different car, on the opposite side from where he normally drives so his spatial awareness would be completely messed up, he’s shifting with the wrong hand, driving a car that’s 600 pounds heavier than what he’s used to with different tyres and different engines and brakes. I don’t think just because he drove on a street course before that the playing field in his favour.
Having done the same thing in local racing, (switching from a red to LHD) I can tell you it does not take long to get accustomed. It's harder on a public road where you have to remember which side to drive on as well!
and the fact he also hasn't raced that track either like all the others
@lukehilhorst3221 on a road course/race track, yea it wouldn't make much difference, BUT on a street track yes, yes it would make a hell of a difference switching the side of the car you drive on. You get use to getting that close your scrapping the mirrors on the wall. now you on the opposite side.
Mate the yanks are delusional
@@jimmyjames1807it was the ‘INAUGURAL’ race. So no one had raced there.
Unless SVG gets tangled up with another car, or his car fails, he will win Chicago, his last few years racing Supercars, he perfected taking the lead and winning even if it was late in the race. He is a master strategist and makes an exciting race for spectators. Owen.
Shane was holding back on those last laps when he was in front last year, that being said Its not embarrassing the Nascar lads, its just how good Shane is on these circuits. Its all hes done for his professional race career!! As a Kiwi i just hope he can learn to do restarts on a oval in the xfinity series.
It was a brand new track for SVG also much he had to learn and will be much better!!!
Scary Better
It was a brand new track for all of the mate. Hence the headline. ‘SVG wins ‘INAUGURAL ’ race in Chicago’
They won’t let him win again in Chicago. If ANYONE can get the bumper to him, they will
I think most drivers have respect and would rather win by a clean race than dirty tactics.
@@owenallen5828this is Nascar. Not f1
@@owenallen5828 they were embarrassed by a rookie. The “right” driver won’t let it happen again, I’m afraid.
what makes you think Shane won't be doing that first? Shane don't fu$k around. Ask Austin Hill.
Dangerous game, he will fight fire with fire plus interest
SVG had nothing to loose? Yer, only a chance to go to NASCAR. Easy to say you'll close the gap, much harder to do it.
That wasn't on the table before he won the race.
Well.!! They will All be studying his Data. That's for sure.
It’s not going to matter how much they study his data Shane can still do the same thing to the cup drivers. They can pat themselves on the back and think this time we’ll know the circuit better and it’ll be dry and Shane will do that to you again.
They need to study his corner speed, in and out
Watch out NASCAR! SVG is coming and he’s a force! Street course, road course. Doesn’t matter. It’s a track. Once he gets his head around ovals…OMG!!! And the man can drift. His signature in Supercars - start from pole, win the race, drift the victory lap and finish off with an awesome donut. He is entertainment and the epitome of race craft and I wish him all the very best in pursuing his dream. USA’s gain is Oceania’s loss.
NASCAR cup drivers, learns fast.
@@alexfire53-ze7px Really? It won’t be fast enough with Shane. 😁
@@alexfire53-ze7px You can’t beat race craft and natural ability which SVG has in droves. Supercars drivers are some of the best in the world. Oh, and I think you mean that NASCAR drivers “learn” fast, not “learns”.
Not sure hes goin to run as well this year as the kaulig cup cars are not great compared to the track house car he used last year
Trackhouse prep his Cup car
All the top guys will crash again they can’t handle walls and street tracks in 5 years maybe, there was so many bungles last year it will happen again
I understand they have to be positive about their chances 2nd time around but honestly, if it’s dry, I don’t know if they’ve got a hope in hell. He will have a target on his back though.
Winning in most Motorsports is down to the whole package from Owner down to the Tea Lady, right car, right crew, right everything, the driver is just one part of it.
Remember shane was in a left hand drive first time.thats a big ask.he will be better next time for sure
But its not his first LHD race car.
Imagine if he was lining up in a HMS car
Very True statements from Top Racers, the best is yet to come....
Just a reminder he was in 18th with 20 laps to go and was in the lead with 5/6 to go….
Imagine not having more of an advantage after getting more practice in a car type that you little practice in 1 year previous. 😂 It would be almost like having everything that could go against last year non existent this year.
Im not saying shane will win 100% but i find it interesting that the drivers are seemingly ignoring that while they now have more experience in something foreign to the, so does shane, he has had way more time in the cup car and will realistically be able to push it far more than before
Especially he’s run and beaten the likes of Larson, Gibbs, AJ in the Xfinity car which is way more in their world to his. No reason he can’t win.
Come on, he's been driving an Xfinity car so far all year, he's hardly been in the Cup car, as if he should be in front of everyone, get real and cut the guy some grace!
It’s funny how NASCAR drivers are so intimidated having to turn left.
Nascar cup driver race roadcources 6 times a year.
Nascar in America race 13 roadcources in the top 3 series
Do you mean the other left?? You can always tell an Aussie!
