Great points in favor of side adjusters over belt loops for more formal tailored clothing. Personally, I always opt for side adjusters when it comes to MTM nowadays. Keep the vids coming!
great job as always the best menswear out there. Belt loops and belts should only be an add on , a style extra and not what determines if are trousers stay or fall. Proper Trousers by them self should not need a belt , belt are not very practical , trying to hold up trousers on an area that is un even and that fluctuates on size while trying to keep presure evenly . How large/Long (depending on how you look at it) should the adjuster be. I know most adjusters are 2cm large/Long but I have seen bigger. How big are the adjusters on the pants showcased ? Thx
Suspenders are also called "braces". They are very comfortable. The best ones are made by Thurston. Check out how beautiful the side adjusters are on the Rubinacci videos.
One that might work for you is oliver wicks, I'm not sure if they ship to norway for free though, but they have all the shipping and return information on their website
Hi Brian. If I go with side adjusters on my next suit, that would mean I would need to wear suspenders every time correct? How do you feel about wearing a suit with side adjusters but NO suspenders? Is that ok? Thanks!
David Butter Side adjusters do not require suspenders. They serve the same purpose as a belt and you can cinch them to accommodate your waist exactly. Cheers!
There are a couple of more expensive Suit Supply models that have side adjusters. The "Hartford" and "Jort" I believe. From my experience there's very little difference between one of these better fully canvassed Suit Supply suits and getting it altered in store as needed vs MTM. With MTM unfortunately it's easy to get semi scammed. Bespoke is another level but VERY expensive.
@@hespokestyle a little late to the party, but some skilled tailors can add them to a RTW pant sometimes. Especially if the pant has an unfinished hem they can use that extra material to create them and take off the belt loops. I've done that a couple of times myself

Good job. What a pity that most of off the rack suits are made with belt loops. And even worse, the sellers say that you should wear a belt with suit

You can most definitely have suspender buttons on trousers with side adjusters. It's much better to do that than have them with belt loops.
It's good to have both, that way you can wear braces when you need or want to.

1:43 that flap, when its long and sticks out like that, like a too long belt, is very unattractive and unstylish. Someone didn’t bespoke properly.
For a tailored suit you should not have loops or adjusters, it should fit perfectly.

You'll never see trousers with side adjusters in a store. They're typically only available if you are doing made to measure or bespoke.
