Keep fighting. This song got me through a very rough chapter in my life. I struggle with depression and anxiety A LOT as well. The best way to play this song is sitting outside when spring has just hit and it's just warm enough to sit outside. Sit out there and take the time to appreciate your surroundings. It will INSTANTLY put you in a better mood. And it has a special even more powerful meaning to me. As I got reacquainted with this song during an extremely cold winter. The last winter we spent in a house that had no proper heat, was rather rundown with serious water and mould damage and was just getting worse and worse. This song reminded me that the winter would soon be over and gave me hope and inspiration to pick myself back up again and look forward to the future. That spring, I and my family moved out of that house. My mom got a new job in town and we were able to afford a reasonable place to live ever since then playing this song no matter what time of year (although spring works best) reminds me of that place I was in. How cold and scared I felt only to listen to this song and have my mood do a 180. It was like God was saying "It's going to be alright":)
struggled with severe depression for years, and listening to this song either made me cry, or put a huge smile on my face. i almost feel like the song was meant for me. But i bet a lot of people benefit from their music.
You are not alone. This song has saved me more than once. (At least one time quite literally: on a too-late, too-long nighttime drive, I blasted this at full volume with the windows down and it woke me up at 2 AM.)
Probably my favorite song from my childhood right here. Can't be sad listening to this. It's absolutely impossible. I could be having the shittiest luck and day, and this song always turns it around for me.
There is nothing more empowering then positive music. I remember going for a drive with my parents to see my therapist when I was 13. I was ate one of the lowest points in my life as far as depression and self esteem. I got bullied ruthlessly and had put on about 50 pounds over 4 months, At 13 I thought that looks determined everything and I felt ugly. I remember listening to this song and thinking to myself "Does my body shape really mean that i am uneligable for experiencing joy and being happy? That is ridiculous!" I instantly felt happier (BEFORE I got to see my therapist). It was just an ordinary day, but it was also an empowering day because of my state of mind.
This song did wonders for me too. I have had a rough time struggling with severe social phobia and depression. My brother used to listen to this song a lot and I rediscovered it a year ago. It couldn't have come at a better time. We were in an extreme cold snap and we were stuck in a house we had been living at for almost 20 years with no proper heat at all. We were all very sick for the entire month of Jan and Feb. I would go to sleep wearing my winter jacket and still be cold. Due to our financial situation at the time We didn't have any other place to live. This song made me feel warm and think of summer as well as give me tools to combat my awful automatic depressing thoughts. 4 months later I started meds for my anxiety, I started making webcomics and sharing them, a couple months after that we moved out of the house and into town where we now have heat and everytime I listen to this song I think about how much hope for the future it gave me and how much warmth it made me feel in one of the darkest and scariest times of my life. I still listen to it whenever I am down.
